      They don't all peel off so nicely, I did have to buy a hand pick set, but an air scribe is not needed ( although it would make things faster) 98% of the material is very soft and easy (well relatively) to get the fish out just work slow

      @@huntingrocks It was incredible, to be honest. We did 2x 2day digs with PaleoAdventures. The break down of what my group of 3 people found is:
      Common material we got to keep right away: an 8'' turtle rib with attached shell, 5lb chunk of dense indeterminate Dinosaur bone, ~25 Triceratops shed ("spitter") teeth fragments, maybe 10 whole ones, 60 gar scales, 10 fragments of fossilized wood, 20 alligator teeth, most of a small turtle or alligator scapula, ~10 fragments of Edmontosaur tooth, ~10 small ray plates, partially rooted Triceratops tooth, tiny piece of gemmy amber, hundreds of small to palm-sized chunks of indeterminate (mostly) dinosaur, turtle and alligator bone.
      Items collected by the guides for science or commercial appraisal: small therapod limb bone, piece of dinosaur skull element (taken for science), tiny raptor or bird vert (taken for science), un ID'd dinosaur astralagus (taken for science, maybe commercial), un ID'd dinosaur ischium, T rex premaxillary tooth, 2x Ankylosaur teeth, adult Nanotyranus tooth 1.5'', 2x T rex tooth fragments, about 3/4'' each, juveline Nanotyranus tooth about 3/4'', good condition, Edmontosaur chevron bone 1'.
      Other highlights we saw other people uncover: 4'' T rex tooth, 3x 3'' T rex teeth, Edmontosaur femur, T rex vert, Thescelosaur tibia, rooted Triceratops tooth, Thescelosaurus pelvis bone, etc. etc.
      So yeah, I recommend. Happy to answer questions in DM if you want.

    Man I couldn’t wait to watch this!!! I’ll get out there one day and find some of my own but looks like you found a lot. Some beautiful pieces as well. My one question is how in the world did you transport those fish fossils? I’d be worried about them shattering 😱

    • @huntingrocks
      @huntingrocks  Před rokem +1

      So getting them required a large tote, some shipping blankets from harbor freight, and a whole lot of prayer.. Next time I go, they will be my last stop, so that I do less driving on very bumpy roads with very fragile cargo

    • @MobileOutdoor
      @MobileOutdoor Před rokem +1

    This is perfect timing for me. I am working on planning a trip there. I was even looking at that Best Western. Any tips on what I should bring with to the quarry with us? Stools, tools, or glues? I personally would love to go all day, I am not sure that my husband will be into it though. He is an easy going fella, but I don't like to take advantage of that. Do you know if they have internet there? That might keep him happier longer. Thank you for putting this video out here.

    • @huntingrocks

      Thank you.When I was there, they kept us well supplied. They lay it out in rows, and if more people come, they open up more rows, but you don't have to stay in your row. You can bounce around. And thank you for the price update $160 is still a great price, I was finding about 30+ fish a day and selling the ones I didn't keep for cheap ( $10 and under ) made my money back for this year's dig.I hope to be back in June , running my western trip in reverse this year.
