I found a rare fossil penguin after 3 years of searching! Fossil hunting adventure.

- It has finally happened! We found a fossil penguin!!
Those of you that have been along with me on this quest to find a fossil penguin, know how many kilometers I've walked to find this one. I am still smiling from ear to ear after finding such a good one.
I'm 90% sure it's a penguin and I had two tentative confirmations from some local fossil experts. The final confirmation will come after I prep it and we can see if the bones match with that of a penguin.
I will be donating it to a local museum after I have done the prep work on it. Stay tuned for the prep updates and final prep time-lapse video.

*LOVE watching your videos,* firstly because you always have such a cheerful, smiling, demeanor! Secondly, I enjoy "walking the beach" with you, & vicariously "locating" fossils, too. (I used to enjoy walking quite a lot, but a fall through a rotten deck 20 years ago ruined both knees and one hip, ending my walking days. I'd happily have them all surgically replaced, except I can't tolerate the titanium which is used to make all prosthetic joints in the USA!)

Congratulations. I can’t wait to see the prep. On another note, I really appreciate you showing the cluster of rocks before pointing out what you saw. Doing so let’s me try to decide which rock you see has the fossil. So far I’m guessing wrong, but I hope you will continue that practice so we can learn to see what you see before revealing it. Your patience has finally paid off; I may not be an archeological hobbyist, yet finding a fossilized penguin in New Zealand, I'd take my time more than a common crustacean reveal.
A possible once in a lifetime find; perhaps head back to that same location in the near future. Who knows? Might find another. Penguins are truly one of the top social species. Congrats.
I will definitely be going back to that spot, and soon! There might be more out there, and yes, definitely my best find so far.

Great find. Very well spotted. My wife used to name all bird fossils we found, "Dodosaurus". It looks like a challenging prep for bird bones can be very fine and, being hollow, rather frail. Good luck. I hope it's well articulated.
