About One Hour One Life
This game is about playing one small part in a much larger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game is infinite. You can only do so much in one lifetime, but the tech tree in this game will take hundreds of generations to fully explore.
This game is also about family trees. Having a mother who takes care of you as a baby, and hopefully taking care of a baby yourself later in life. And your mother is another player. And your baby is another player. Building something to use in your lifetime, but inevitably realizing that, in the end, what you build is not for YOU, but for your children and all the countless others that will come after you. Proudly using your grandfather's ax, and then passing it on to your own grandchild as the end of your life nears.
And looking at each life as a unique story. I was this kid born in this situation, but I eventually grew up. I built a bakery near the wheat fields. Over time, I watched my grandparents and parents grow old and die. I had some kids of my own along the way, but they are grown now... and look at my character now! She's an old woman. What a life passed by in this little hour of mine. After I die, this life will be over and gone forever. I can be born again, but I can never live this unique story again. Everything's changing. I'll be born as a different person in a different place and different time, with another unique story to experience in the next hour...

Just checked the family tree out of curiosity and the Ok-Family made it to 20 generations :D
How do you do that?
@@paigetotino1437 You can check out the family tree via a button you click, after your life is over, if I remember correctly.
Just checked through family tree viewer, shows 40 generations to me. Very long tree.

It happened to me before. I was born to a nameless naked lady so I though, ok, she's eve. But when I and my sis went looking for a good spot to settle, we found our actually town lol. Turns out my mom was just a new player running in the wild not knowing what to do.

I've noticed a lot of these people who will call others "noobs" and "noob towns" almost always are the ones who work the least and cause the most problems and actually don't help anything at all.
I played for the first time yesterday. I explained to each baby that I was brand new and still learning. 2nd kid told me I was the worst mother ever and shouldn't play, took all of our clothes and a basket full of our (very limited) stuff and ran off into the wilderness. Some people are just assholes.

We (new players) need the others to teach us, like that we can learn and be useful for the family, saying we're noobs will just make us sad and nothing will help (fortunately most of the players are really awesome and understanding ☺️)
I started playing a few days ago. I learned farming and catching rabbits. Now I teach other newbies. The problem is I still have no idea how to do anything else, but at least I'm doing something usefull 🤷🏼♀️😅
I love EVE towns, busting butt....
But that is one thing that drives me crazy.... when you work really hard and some free loaders sit around and complain, or move stuff uselessly and disorganize your work space... or just visually cluster up a high traffic work area. It really makes me appreciate the murder mechanic. (which I only used once... but the person had it coming) :)
eve towns rare the best but when they are too accomplished there isn't anything to do or any food

its almost like the one guy tried a new game and didnt like being told what to do every second. Not the best way to play a new game. this is such a social experiment I love it.
I knew there had to be a funny story about the Ok fam’s name. I had no idea you were the Eve lol!
Ok. This was weird. I have been using First, second, third etc for kid names for about six months. Some of the in game results were (girls first); Firyal, Firmin, Secora, Secondo, Thira, Thirl, Foua, Fountain, Fifi, Fiifi, Sixta.
Now I have to find a new way to generate names :(
They changed the way the names work a long time ago
I saw someone used January, February, March, etc.
I have to appreciate that you use curses sparingly, there's unfortunately always one person hell bent on drama! 🙄
That was great for the most part! Finding a good spot is tough but at least Eve spawns got changed out of the previously occupied areas.

Good job, and most were cooperative. I haven't played for ages but are griefers still a thing? In most new colonies I've spawned in, there's often someone going somewhere and coming back to try to kill everyone off.
Yeah. Unfortunately there are people who either just want to make others miserable or who no longer enjoy the game & want to watch the world burn.

@@dotanon it’s not though, idk where you live and what kind of society you live in but most of the people I’ve spent my life in the real world with are decent human beings who know how to cooperate. Even strangers kind of assimilate into the flow of things without the need to ruin things for everyone. People act different online than in real life. Like how they would say stuff on the internet that they would never say in person. But because it’s anonymous and there’s no real risk people in this game tend to just try to find fun ways to bully people. It’s probably the same jerks spawning in over and over trying to ruin things for everyone because they have nothing better to do.

I agree the vast majority of people are good. But it takes one rotten egg to ruin the peace. And there is not one crime free society on earth.

What's a noob town lol, i've never played this game but isn't the point to survive then create a civilization ? looked like you guys were playing the game how its supposed to be played.
If you don´t create the basics first as an Eve, your children won´t survive. The point of a survival game at the start it´s making the basic needs you need to literally survive. Even more so in a game like this, that the point is for your dinasty to live on, not just you.
I mean imagine playing rust (for example) and not making a house, they will kill you and steal from you with no doubt.
