About One Hour One Life
This game is about playing one small part in a much larger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game is infinite. You can only do so much in one lifetime, but the tech tree in this game will take hundreds of generations to fully explore.
This game is also about family trees. Having a mother who takes care of you as a baby, and hopefully taking care of a baby yourself later in life. And your mother is another player. And your baby is another player. Building something to use in your lifetime, but inevitably realizing that, in the end, what you build is not for YOU, but for your children and all the countless others that will come after you. Proudly using your grandfather's ax, and then passing it on to your own grandchild as the end of your life nears.
And looking at each life as a unique story. I was this kid born in this situation, but I eventually grew up. I built a bakery near the wheat fields. Over time, I watched my grandparents and parents grow old and die. I had some kids of my own along the way, but they are grown now... and look at my character now! She's an old woman. What a life passed by in this little hour of mine. After I die, this life will be over and gone forever. I can be born again, but I can never live this unique story again. Everything's changing. I'll be born as a different person in a different place and different time, with another unique story to experience in the next hour...

#OHOL #HBG #OneHourOneLife - Hry
Wasn't "curse my baby" for the babies that ran, thus dying of natural causes and putting the mother back on a baby cooldown? I remember that happening a _lot_ more in the past, when the sudden infant death command wasn't quite as established yet.
This game was so different when it was new, and the players were a lot more chaotic then, right? Today's giant mega-cities were practically unheard of, and making your family last even just a few generations past the Eve was seen as a success.
I mean, killing other players was also pretty normal back then, wasn't it? I remember all those "I lived in a murder cult" OHOL videos, lol.
Babies used to run all the time.
Yeah I think that was its main purpose back then, but that's no longer a thing since babies can just /die and reset the cooldown
Actually I do remember some large cities back when all you could eat was rabbit, carrots, berries and pies. They were rare however, and with the advent of swords, they died out.
I chased after some of those running babies to tell them to /die because some did not know of /die command and some did /die and others caused trouble by not /die command and if killing happened I would help stop the bad people that where killing others for no reason or for bad reason in a way I was the protector.
You're such a good teacher, Twisted. So patient.
For real
Ty for still making these videos. I found your channel a few months ago and have watched pretty much all your videos and it’s great that you’re still playing and keeping the ohol content alive. Ive watched a few others playing and the game and they just didn’t keep my attention, but you are very entertaining. You have a gift. I played the mobile version because of you, but I’m going to get the pc version. Hope to come across you some time! Maybe get some twisted lessons as well. Keep up the great content!
I played mobile too bc of him. ( I don’t have a pc only Xbox.
Pro tip: Use VPN and buy at another country's rate last I checked Argentina peso price was equivalent to 0.7 USD
Mariyam was awesome! It’s always awesome to see new players enjoying the game
I think the old man went crazy with the curse system, but the survey kind of implies the game will change, I don't mind griefers, it adds to the game dynamics pvp and role playing
I didn't know about the change on the curse duration (5 years !?). Last week I cursed two griefers however I'm not sure they deserve such a long lasting curse. Now I feel kinda bad for them :/
@@Lilyanna08 me too, it feels less drama since then though
Maybe with the longer cursing system though some people will be less likely to greif and people will also be more cautious with their cursing.
You can eat raw corn! You could probably find a bunch half eaten in cornmazes in autumn. Cooking helps break down veggies for us to eat, but the outside of the kernel is still hard to digest with cooking, and the inside fairly easy without cooking. So cooking corn is mostly for warming it up for mouthfeel and flavor (char from grill or butter being able to melt).
Edit: changed cornfields to cornmazes, which is what I meant
Aww this was a joy to watch - great teachers and great students in this town
How about a change to OHOL where you reach age of retirement at 60 and then the music stops and you don't know how many more years you'll live and don't have to chase after food anymore, but the catch is you never know if times up at 61 or 91
that would be neat but I do like knowing when my gaming session will be over hah
@@TwistedHBG Part of me would be down for this considering that I'm turning 60 in just a few months!
@@LaBlueStateGirl give BP please
@@TwistedHBG Sure, you can always have my BP back pack when I'm finished it. Or is it my Blood Pressure, it tends to run low, in the 90 over 60 range. I think I'm missing something,
@@TwistedHBG😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
so glad you posted this video today. i have literally nothing to do at work so i'm just sitting here watching all your videos ♡ you make the day go faster.
Based on this title, this was not what I was expecting from this video. As a newer player, I am quite happy to have learned a few things. Although this is true for all your videos.

Aww little boy lost his tinder and leaf 😢😅
Looks like there were many teacher Student pairs.
I doubt that I've ever been cursed, but I'm glad that it's been changed from 50 to 5 years! I'd be well over 100 when my curses expired!
I love how kind you are. ♥️
Such a great teacher.
Looking forward to seeing if you come across your student in future lives now that you have them in your ohol web of trust
Usually they just stop playing and it makes me a bit sad :(
Always love a life of teaching! This kind of life might be great for making those teaching shorts too.
I only been playing this two weeks. I knew pies and basic farming and yum. Some of your other videos taught me soil and sheep. But now i know stew and cart too !! This was soo helpful thanks!
Aw this was so wholesome!!
Hey twisted, have you seen survey from OHOL asking whether you'll like to have monthly subscription and play with 5 friends or have you own copy but playing hermits?
Yeah I have, kinda weird considering you can just host your own server for free but I guess it's a neat idea if you wanna play with friends? not really a feature for me tho
I said neither since I was confused a bit and I think I just did not want monthly subscription and wanted play with other people like I have normally been doing and I don't really play OHOL with friends.
I just started playing the mobile version a few months ago. It’s definitely a lot smaller in detail and only has like 20 ppl on the server. But I’m addicted,
One day I’ll get a pc and play the real game😂
You Are Hope is different group than OHOL but it's still fun to play and they made PC version maybe bit different called In Next Life the group that made You Are Hope the mobile version.
This video is so old, but imagine in real life someone asking you to hold a clay crock, and wait for half a year of your life
Please more videos with game mechanics, I'm also new and it's still difficult to figure everything out
I learned how play by watching Twisted and learning through experience because during the time I first played no one wanted to teach me and I tried asking few times but no one wanted teach me and I learned through experience and also watching Twisted videos and I saw run through of tutorial and I used that to learn how to smith more better and you can kind of learn things a bit in tutorial the basics and if need help let me know and I can help teach you in game. :)
The only baby I've ever cursed was a racist. I was a desert mom, kid typed out "ew black" and then /died. Didn't want them back. Aside from that, I agree. Cursing bbs is dumb.
I love your commitment to one hour one life!
You need more likes, this video is helpful 😢😢
25:25 xDD
Great story!!!💖
Sabotage yourself and make your life worse? How have I accidentally stumbled on this IRL? XD Well played.
The big "ooh ooh" at being called a great teacher is relatable. Well played.
I was in this family 🤣 I built a few adobe walls before starving to death after forgetting to eat at the age of 46 😂
I just found out about this game today, and I'd love to play, but I have a Chromebook. It looks like a lot of fun, though. I was hoping it would be an app, lol.
How was she moving the tanks so fast 😮
she was inspired by having such an awesome baby
Modded version with hotkeys
They probably have Hetuw Mod since it's only way to go fast like that and using keyboard for moving and placing stuff.
This reminds me, I was never eaten by a bear!! Kinda tricky to try, cuz you don't want a town of noobs to die.
pretty old upload: i made the Treefarm north of the smithy :) and the west farm was my work aswell breaking 3x3 meta :)but people messed with it Xd
It's from 5 days ago that's basically as quick as it can be
@@TwistedHBG no offense :) it hard to see people make so silly stuff plant in a wheat field tomatos.
We Kick Butt Everyday, Yeah
I think that town is empty now ,was there today
It was very good teaching life))
Is it possible to run the game from source code or modify the code to create a new version of your own?
yup the entire game is open source and you can do whatever, go wild - github.com/jasonrohrer
@@TwistedHBG amen,
The food meter shouldn't go down so fast imo
If it's going down fast you're probably wearing no clothes
I don't care what you think about "curse my baby" I think it is useful. Many babies just run off they are griefers who need to be cursed
It's useful when you wanna kill off towns, but most people don't want to do that
Omg I actually played in the same town yesterday, but with a different family! When was this video recorded?
I was in this town yesterday again as the Ghost fam! This vid is from about 5 days ago
@@TwistedHBG ohhh nice! I’m not sure if my family name was „Ghost“ too, it would be funny if 3 different families lived in the same town already! I love your videos btw, I learn so much by just watching them and they are also very entertaining 😄
@@VeliaOwO I played Omega, Winter and Ghost all in the same town. I was the last surviving Ghost family member.
@@del9lah that’s crazy! Is something like that common?
@@TwistedHBG The Corn family was in that town too!
i played with you i think haha
