As somone JUST learning how to use Dirac, the setup page alone is a Godsend. Of course, theres still a lot more to learn beyond theae basics, but i just want yo say thank you.

Thank you AudioControl. A very useful video, especially as you've gone into detail about the levels set up page.

I’m completely new to Dirac Live, let me tell you, this software is awesome and very professional, i’m speechless.

Thank you very much for such a detailed tutorial ❤
Just one question about mic. How you make a calibration file you load before start DIRAC measurements?
I found some recomendation about UMIK-1 or 2 mic as perfect calibration equipment its better that one we got with reciever

i dont think you need to set speaker levels per speaker. DIRAC does this during the measurement process. what is important is to make sure each speaker is AUDIBLE for dirac. It will sort out everything else fine. The main part of volume calibration is not to calibrate volume (DIRAC can do this) - it is to ensure you are above the system noise floor so that DIRAC can do its job

Is there a way to adjust an already exported filter? I have filters saved for different pairs of speakers. I switch speakers in/out from time too time and have used up all available slots. I'd like to tinker with existing filters without having to re-measure with the mic all over again.

So I just I just ran the volume calibration. My left and right channel is set at -12 @ 0.0 dB per the directions. I have the gain turned all the way down to -15 dB on Direc and my sub is still set at -4.1 dB..?

This quite interesting, why doesn't Audio Control offer Dirac Live in their car audio DSP products ?

Very informative and helpful. May I ask something about Denon AVC X4800H ? Maybe you have some advice for me.
Speakers (power amp layout) 7.1 and Zone 2. In zone 2 are two floorstanding speakers, connected to "Height2". I can then enjoy the music from my streamer via these extra speakers. However, when calibrating with Dirac, the speakers are "visible" to calibrate. But there is no sound to hear. Because of the "zone 2" setting, I think. Is there a workaround for how I could still calibrate them?

The slider explanation was a bit difficult to follow. Why was the mic slider moving up and down so much. Terribly unclear unfortunately. And the settings on this page are really important to.😢

Dear Americans, it’s pronounced Deerac not Dirac. Yours sincerely Paul Dirac

😂😂 dirac default settings for your curve? Open your ears guys, that flat line will exactly do what a flat line does.......it will hammer your complete sound flat. Do not follow these instructions, this is not what Dirac is created for.

Hi, the standard Dirac curve tends to head down towards the HF by a few dB, it's not flat. In my experience of using Dirac on many AVR's 'going' with the standard curve gives great results. There's SO much DSP being applied in the form of phase and EQ adjustment that it makes a heck of a difference still. Cheers

@@wh1972 it changes the sound of the speakerbrand, that's a fact, and that's not why you buy a specific brand of speakers. Maybe "flat" wasn't the right word.....it should be "straight" then. But one thing is for sure: if the measured characteristics of the speaker are way of of this straight line then you are messing up the sound of the brand. I've tried over 50 brands and never ever has the straight line been a good result. You'll hear the real magic of dirac when you really learn how it should be done😁

@@twotraxz I think the point of the video is to help get users on the right track using Dirac. I think going with the standard curve does work well. I normally manipulate the target curves when using the software (as you do by the sound of it) but if it can get messy and not return a sound that mimics the changes visually made.
