@@InvincibleExtremes When I worked for IBM they sent me to school in Tucson in February. I swam in the hotel pool and had to turn the AC on driving from the hotel to the plant where the class was. That sun can be a scorcher.
We made a all terrain engine hoist , made a solid axle on rear and swivel casters on front with a cross brace all pneumatic tires . Later added a winch motor and battery so we could walk it slowly.
I put Competition Engineering subframe connectors on my 68 Firebird; they fit great and without modifying the seat pan. BTW. Great video and I can't wait to see the old bird fixed back up.
@@InvincibleExtremes Those are nice for sure since you don't mind cutting the floor pan. I used the bolt on ones, but they can be welded on too. This is the first car that I seen and it made me subscribe to you this is the car that made me like Pontiacs im a die hard ford man and hate gm but now I can say I love Pontiac
Hey bro, over the last six months I’ve used the lockdown to learn the speeduino style ecu’s and I’ve managed to build a setup using GM’s old TBI replacing the old school low pressure / low impedance injectors with modern injectors (ev6 - us car connectors) from junkyard LS flex fuel engines. The whole deal uses junkyard parts (all gm) the ecu’s come pre-assembled and the software is free aka no Hp Tuners / EFI Live. Dead simple efi setup for the cost of a mid tier carburetor. I’d like to send you one if you’re interested
Irs for the Fire bird Great idea! My son and I really enjoy your Vids. Where did you get your dual belt pulley for your alternator? I need one for my Olds 455.
So not an original Arizona car? just kidding. One of the tricky parts with those early Firebird builds is getting the rear tail light panel right. Those brackets that hold the lights have to be almost perfect to hold them centered in the slots.
Thanks for the Update I really enjoy your videos. You should get a carport, Canopy, or hoop house set up soon to block some sun skin cancer is no joke.
Damn that car has lived one Heck of a life with your family. Lucky for us fans we get to see the rebuild. What parts there are time to film, that is. Stay safe, stay blessed.
great update Vlad glad to see the firebird finally getting a refresh! I remember in one of your cross country adventures years ago it was raining and rust in the top of the roof/windshield was letting water in so you patched it with chewing gum! Ha! gonna pull the windscreen and fix all those areas too? Rudi.
Glad to hear you and yours are staying safe and doing well. Always cool to see your take on hotroding at its core, a supra irs diff in a early firebird, that is what innovation is about.
Been waiting for a Firebird update that car is the reason I started watching years back. I'd keep the soild rear axle in it and just upgrade the transmission.
@@InvincibleExtremes I like 4 speeds too, but with today's highway speeds having a gear or two more is nice. Is that a dearborn transmission then? Pontiac used them for a bit. My 67 400 convertible has the hydramatic 400 if it wasn't such a rare (fully option) ac car I'd think about making it a 6 speed.

The videos you did of the bird towing the cars around where pretty cool.
Good update. Looks like you don't have to worry too much about the weather, just have to be able to stand the heat.
Good video. Happy Motoring.
Yeah the heat can be wild

Nice, that's the way to go
Nice to see a vid from you. Hope you and the family are navigating this crazy year OK.

On that engine hoist on sand. Plywood is a great thing to lay down to roll it on. I’ve had to do that before.
Yeah that's true

We plan on cutting through the floor for DSE connectors

That's what I hear. But I have some ideas

looks like my yard but way less green lol. it needs some patches but it will be worth it
Definitely worth it

How much hp does it support? And what would an engine need installed to run it? Ie sensors etc

Came that way, it's a lifetime replacement alternator that I replaced a couple years ago

The transmission is already a badass 4 speed Ford. The IRS swap is something I plan on offering for sale, so that's the primary motivation for that

Even more apart now, getting ready for floor replacement
The low oil pressure has me curious also l'd like to see how the tow hitch is attached to the firebird
Tow hitch was part of the hacked up reinforced bumper. It's going to be much stronger and better built this time around
Could you do a tour on that "Christine" Plymouth?
Christine isn't mine, it's Chris birdsongs. You can ask him
Did you ever drag race this car while it still had the overdrive in it?
Never did. Just street miles, and it was a damaged unit when I got it so it didn't last forever
Wagon??
Wagon still going strong, eats oil but hauls the family, and groceries all over.
