1974 Jensen Healey Restoration

I purchased a 1974 Jensen Healey in 1983 and drove it for a few years before it failed a state inspection due to a leaking exhaust manifold. I started on the repairs but then moved on to other things. After six years outdoors under a tarp, it was clear that I either needed to do a full restoration or scrap the car. I opted for the former and this video covers the project that ensued.

Well done, and great that you documented it so well. I loved the six second “27 year break” comment. I had a ‘74 that I’m looking for. Maybe I can post a similar video one day.

Wow didn't realize how rough that was when you first got it. Came out great! Gives me motivation to get back on my Datsun project.

To be honest, there was just some minor rust when I bought the car in 1983. Most of the damage occurred over the next nine years before I started the restoration in 1992 (especially during the last two years when it was parked in the woods). Good luck with your project; don't wait till your old like me!
