So Happy Birthday to Sooty and Birthday memories of my lovely mum who sadly is no longer with us xxx North Pier has always been our favourite and was the spot we chose to watch the Illuminations switch on for many years no matter how cold wet and windy it was as the view all the way up and down the prom was perfect to see the lights for the first time...

Many happy memories of holidays in Blackpool with my mum and dad in the 1950s. Unfortunately that Blackpool has long gone, never to return.

Fantastic video Jane. I've always loved North Pier. There used to be a diesel tram and ballroom dancing in the conservatory. The Theatre is the only one in Blackpool that I've never done a show in. Maybe one day. Many thanks Jane

Neither would I! One turned up in Barrow in Furness a day or two later - just a bit north and you can usually see it from here. I wondered if it was the same one, lol

My favourite pier too and I want to ride with the wonderful lady in my life on the carousel one day, Kris is still enjoying the memories of the Big Wheel experience :-)
That moth made my day! I feel we should take a moment to wonder how it braved the breeze to reach and fly over the pier to land on that plant on its nectar mission. I imagine the route was Jubilee gardens, then the crazy golf course by the Metropol Hotel, a brief stay at the war memorial before the expedition to the pier. For all we know it may usually live at Stanley Park. Amazing! Thank you Jane :-)
It's good Sooty is still there 😊 he is a huge part of Blackpool 😊. North Pier is good to get away from the hustle snd bustle nice and quiet 😊.

Missed Blackpool last came 2019 year before covid been to devon & Skegness Blackpool is calling us again might come next year when we get tram from the north station ❤
Took m years to muster up the courage to walk the North Pier.....it was sort of a bit at first then ran back....mum helped me and encouraged me.

I Diane it was a hummingbird so lovely birds love watching you on CZcams I do not get out much it looks very nice were you are not been on the north pier for a long time
We don't have hummingbirds in the uk, those hummingbird hawk months are the closest we get. They're gorgeous 😍

I was on the North Pier when the little train had just arrived [from America I think and £30000 although could be wrong ; time is telling]
