We always did this with pork and beans ,slices apples , mustard and onions. All in one casserole .. porkchops were always tender and moist and all in only one dish..❤

I have a friend who lives across the street who, like me, is a widow. She still works, and she's not much of a cook; I'm retired and although I love to cook to me the most fun part is having people rave about my food (It's not much fun cooking for one!) so when I want to try something like this I make it and share with her, giving her enough so she has leftovers to take for lunch the next day.
I made this today, using three pork chops and halving the rest of the ingredients. It was very good - she absolutely loved it! The only thing I would suggest is testing the internal temperature of the chops starting at about 25 minutes. I always check the temperature of my meat using a thermometer but didn't this time, and after 30 minutes the meat was 170 degrees - pork is done at 145, so it was a little overdone. For the last few minutes to melt the cheese I left the pan in the hot oven which I turned off. Otherwise, very good!

Good twist! I make the pork chop bake as well! Ours is cream of whatever I have, add peas, garlic, fresh ground black pepper and parm over top. 😊 Tks for the recipe ❤🇨🇦

I use my crock pot in hot weather. Brown the chops first and add the juices from fry pan on chops. Delish.
I've never added cheese will be fun to try. Stove Top as a base works well too. Make soup mix put some on bottom, then mixed stove top some soup mix, chops top with soup.

love this , i make this same thing but use boneless skinless chicken tenders instead of pork chops
I used to do this with pork chops, minute rice and orange juice. Nice, tangy flavor. Put some honey and season all and put it in the microwave. About 12 minutes, depending on thickness.

I have made something similar to this,but I always brown my meat the way my Mama taught me with just simple salt and pepper.She always said that browning adds more flavor.🤷🏼♀️

Thank you for noting the amount of salt in your canned soups. There are low sodium soups available, which would help a lot!

Excellent idea with the sausage! I only have 2 very thick pork chops, which i made 4 out of.. thought that I needed more meat. I do have kielbasa in the freezer, so will do porkchops on one half, and the sausages on the other!

I’m going to make this today. I’m going to brown the chops first and use bone in chops, about 6. I may adjust the amount of cheese. For sure I will eliminate the top cheese. The onions will be enough. I have to say, I see so much cheese in recipes from the south/southwest. I’m in no way criticizing, but just acknowledging. Thanks for a great recipe. We make one similar to this with onion soup mix. I haven’t made it because of the sodium, but it is very good. I make something similar with hominy, cream of mushroom and/or cream of celery soup and pork chops. Pork chops are browned first. Very good. Also, I make German pork chops with a beer onion gravy. This was my mother’s favorite. If I asked her what she wanted, it was often this or a juicy burger with a slice of raw onion. I miss her so. She just loved my cooking but was amazed at how good of a cook I was because I never cooked growing up. I told her I was very observant and I was.
Wish I could figure out how to make that in a crockpot during the hot weather.But with the rice, i'm not sure on the timing..?🤔.

Your casserole looks absolutely delicious! Do you think you could add a vegetable to the casserole or have a suggestion for what kind would work best? Corn, green beans or peas come to mind, but I’d welcome any suggestions. R, perhaps it’s perfect as is.
You can add any veggies you like. Corn or green beans would be good.
