Han Solo has to be the saddest. I’m not saying this because he is my favorite character (ok maybe a little bit), but because of the way it happened. His son, consumed by darkness was stepping back into the light right as the dark came back. He was trying to help his son for the sake of fatherhood and the sake of his wife, Leia. Truly a heartbreaking moment.

I know it’s a minor death, but in Number 3 there is a young Padawan who lets General Organa escape the clones. It was one of the sadder deaths for me for some reason.
Imagine the sheer terror he felt because of this insane amount of force disturbance happening all at once. Something he's probably never felt before to that extent. Probably hundreds of force users, who have the strongest connections to the force, all having this connection severed in an instant. He might have felt like the universe was ending or something right at that second.
