- [4K] Scorpion Express at Chessington World of Adventure, join us on the front row of this roller coaster as as we travel across the ruins of the gold mines in the abandon town.
"Scorpion Express is located in Mexicana, a land of sweeping sands and gold mines. As you head towards the town you'll soon see signs that all is not quite as it once was and it will soon become clear that where locals once lived, the scorpions have taken control. Adventurers must then board the old train of the Scorpion Express as it's the only way to cross the ruins of the gold mines in this abandoned town!"
Scorpion Express was originally known as the Runaway Mine Train, which opened in 1987. It is a Mack Blauer Enzian family coaster manufactured by Mack Rides. The ride originally had a cave feature which was removed in 2012 due to falling into a state of disrepair. This rollercoaster reaches a top speed of around 22mph (36kph)
Guests must be 0.9m in height to ride Scorpion Express and guests under 1.1 meters must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 16.

This looked so much better as the runaway train! The fake mountains you went through, it was all much better. ( at least from what i remember ).
We agree, the same happened with Vampire, had much better theming than it does now, but unfortunately it was left and got in to a state where repair was not an option. I'm not sure what is happening with this ride been shut for a while
This looks like so much fun! I usually hate rollercoasters because of the sudden drops, but this just looks like one long track, I hope to go on it soon!

@@PlanItPark I went on it the other day, ! I'm gradually building up my tolerance for coasters so this was perfect, quite fast for someone who's not used to them, but so much fun!

Yeah, it is a great coaster
I only expected two laps as that’s what they been told to to run it on even during quiet periods
We didn't notice this, well spotted, we looked back at our previous Scorpion Express video and you are right, it only did 2 laps. We did walk straight on to the front row, there was no else queuing at the time. Maybe we just got lucky!!
@@PlanItPark I agree. I do only expect the two laps as this is how management wanted it run at all times.
Hi there, I went on a Tuesday and got 3 laps, at around 4PM I got 4 laps, don't know if they changed it just because it was a weekday, or they permanently changed it for 2021.
That's fantastic getting 4 laps, was it quiet at that time? Maybe it just depends on the operator and if they decide to give riders a bit extra, thank you for the update, hope you had a great day
It’s only ever done 2 laps when I was on it.
Always a fun ride with the family
Hopefully this ride will reopen in time for the beginning of next season, we will really enjoy it as well

@@ABBASUNIVERSE Yeah, some great investment into the park now, these new rides haven't replaced any of the old rides which is great to see.
I went on this, good ol’ ride for the fam and great for younger people
It is a great ride, but unfortunately has been closed for quite a while now. It may close for good or be refurbished, not much information about what is happening to it.
@@PlanItPark dw, I’m not planning on going again cause it’s a bit expensive and rollercoasters make me feel sick anyway. I just wanted to try it out when I was younger

Im going to Chessington tomorrow and today the ride is temporarily closed hopefully it reopens for tomorrow 🤞
The ride has been closed since end of July this year following a minor fire. I'm not sure when it is due to reopen, let us know if you find out any information tomorrow while you are there.
