Toyota Corolla T Sport - TRACK DAY [with wider Tires] Available in 2160p UHD -Check my Channel for more Videos: / vuckohd -Join my Facebook page: www.facebook.c...
I have a Corolla T Sport track car, good job on the wider wheels, I run some semi slick tyres medium compound, OMP seats and 3 point harnesses, polycarbonate windows, Tein coilovers, upgraded Mishimoto radiator (prob needed even more in that climate), EBC grooved brakes, Yellow stuff pads, braided lines, 2"5 inch exhaust and intake. Great tip also for that engine, get an oil cooler unless yours has a factory one. Also you appear to be braking and turning at the same time, try to get all your braking done before you turn and use the throttle to balance the car in the longer corners. Also try to practice turning the wheel once to hit the apex and not applying more turn / lock mid corner. Well done on a good lap time!
Thanks for taking your time to write that long message and tell what you did, I'm still newbie in this sport but I am heading in a right way, wider tires really improved the grip. If you didn't watch my newer T Sport videos where I also put the K&N filter and Front strut brace and improved my laptime by 0.6s czcams.com/video/URSfKXoSFLs/video.html And will upload soon Part 4 Update where I installed Sparco bucket seat :) Anyway about my driving I do in few corners brake while steering wheel is a bit turned, not much and yes I'm still learning heel & toe. About not making many steering turns before apex I realized and agree I need to work on that too. Thanks for the support, today I had another Track day with Sparco seat and it was amazing but at the end of the 3rd last stint when I was giving my best to set the fastest lap, some knocking noice started :( On monday mechanics will check it and see what was it, we suspect its chain related. Sad day but thats life, stay tuned if interested.
No problems! Keep up the good work. Will check out your other videos, might have to make one of two of my own, last track day of the year for me at Snetterton on the 01-11-19. You know what they say practice makes perfect so keep doing it over and over! I have a knocking noise since my last track session however I think it's the lower arm bushes or something suspension related so will investigate that this week. I have 124,000 miles on mine and so far no indication of a chain issue, hope yours doesn't turn out to be that bad and it's back on track in no time! Look forward to seeing what you do next.
Also I forgot to mention, you can get a baffled sump for this engine which will reduce the chance of oil starvation in corners over 1G.... I've not took the plunge yet however it's on the list for next year. Go careful until then and keep and close eye on the oil 😁
@@luk-argen7144 Thanks for more info, yeah hopping the rattling in the engine isn't something big but at least the season is over so I have a lot of tine to fix snd study. Also recently bought Peugeot 207 GTI, always wanted to have turbo car too and take it on Track day too, I know reputation about that 1.6T bmw engine is that they arent so reliable but with a mechanic we found that only works on those engine and goes on track days with them is most important to have. Learned that in this sport you need to know a lot about your engine and to protect/improve weak spots. Also to drive clever, not to go full on in first stints but to warm up and study/remind the track. (My car is 72,000miles although thats because owner was mostly driving in city, only few times he did longer travels)
@@VuckoHD Nice! I'm also thinking about a turbo car for the track. I may look into turbo charging the T Sport if I can't find some info on it. I understand the stock internals can handle a decent increase in power as the Lotus Elise R had 260bhp from the same engine. I also have a modified Nissan 370Z (around 398bhp N/A) but that is in the garage for the winter. I noticed your gear stick video with the seats, I cut my gear stick in half and welded it back together to make a short shifter, although reverse is now difficult to engage as I don't have as much throw on the leaver 😂 keep up the good work! I just ordered a new camera for my next track day, we are not allowed them on the outside but will upload a video of my T Sport when I get a chance
Now just remove all the useless items like the rear seats, luggage cover, tools etc. If you have another car as a daily you don't need comfort with this car. I would like to know how much weight you can strip.
During that Track day I removed tools and spare wheel. I'm still learning the car and being on race track so no need to go extreme to gain 0.1s. But later I surely will do that
@@VuckoHD I wouldn't call that extreme. Those items can be removed in under a minute and things like the luggage cover are useless anyway. You would gain a lot more than 0.1 seconds if you remove like 50 kg.
@@VuckoHD Just weighed the luggage cover and rear floor mats and they weigh a whopping 3 kg together :P The racing seats do make a bigger difference though. When you do decide to buy a helmet get an open face model for the hot days haha.
@@g.bergervoet4505 It's not extreme to remove seats and covers but also didnt want to give advantage because I wanted to see how much do wider tires improve my Toyota's time, also yes I bought one open Sparco helmet and one Sparco closed helmet for carting :)
Removing weight has many benefits. You accelerate quicker, stop more easy and with less stress on the brakes, which are not made for trackracing anyways. Your car will tilt less when cornering and give you more even grip on all tires. The higher the weight you remove, the better. Also it always felt more fun to drive my cars after removing weight. If you remove alot, your car will be higher, which is bad for cornering. Also your springs and damper are set up for this car when fueled up with only one driver to 5 people with luggage. They will be to stiff. To improve, you can find springs and dampers to lower your car and compansate for the weight loss.
I like to see that you are getting positive comments from people. I was going to say, look at entry speed and take just 10kph off that. Concentrate on smoothness with the steering (as your not entering so fast). Feels like you overload the tyres too suddenly. Another big thing - remember that the speed at which you come OFF the brake pedal has a huge part in how balanced the car will be in the corner. You come off real fast and you'll change the pitch a lot. Keep on going!
Thanks for watching and giving feedback. I agree to your points but just to let you know the Toyota I drove had a very slow steering ratio so I had to steer a lot in corners, i did improve a lot though if you see watch this newer same track day video: czcams.com/video/PH2DZpu3syc/video.htmlsi=58yBRzjklRbLG1Aj
Thanks, will keep it up and improve me and the car! :) Yeah I had big support but that made me pressured to succeed too hah gladly I did it and it made me even happier
I didn't stop at the racing line...I stopped at the very safe side of the track and far from racing line. Also at the meeting before track day people said we can stop on a track but at the straights where road is the widest.
The 2zzge has temperature problems, with your general, the engine will not do that long !!! Liftbolts already exchanged? And another landing gear will be a big plus as well as more crash on the front axle
I know that but with this car (Toyota Corolla TS) I have to because of slow steeeing ratio...just look at the steering angle that I have to use to go around tighter turns
from what i can see you are a solid driver i would just tip you to focus more on exiting the corner faster instead of coming in hot and having a sloppy exit, try to brake firmer and get in the right gear before the corner and then open it up with gradual throttle
Thanks for watching and agree I was overly agressive entering the corner, the video was 3 years ago and I was still a newbie. Improved a lot since then, you can watch this video: czcams.com/video/PH2DZpu3syc/video.html Although the Peugeot 207 GTI that I use now is much easier to control and set a proper fast lap without mistakes
@@VuckoHD oh yes you can see the difference in the first few corners, good improvements and much cleaner, nice! How is the 207 GTi? I was thinking about getting one but my friend has a Peugeot and is losing his mind with all the problems. Thanks for the reply
@@VuckoHD Thanks for the reply, I just bought the Australian version of this car... I got it cheap as it needs work so I have only driven it home! Nice work on the videos, you helped me decide to buy :-)
@@krazed0451 me again, sorry my mistake you cant turn the beeping off by turning off TRC, you need to pull one fuse for that. I'll do some research on what fuse it is but still I dont find beeping annoying, it actually helps me to know that Im close to loosing control of the car :)
No worries, thanks for the update! I'll have a look on the forums as to which fuse needs pulling, I'm yet to drive my car hard so I've no idea how intrusive the system is yet, I might end up leaving it too :-)
i think you need lowering your toyota and lose some car weight, out rear seats for track racing. Good idea will be put some low weight wheels with low profile tires (toyo/michelin)

Normal TS 1.8 192hp

Top 5 things to do :
1)Weight Reduction
2)New All-wheel performance brakes
3)Turbo
4)New Coilovers
5)Optional (Cooling Upgrades/Mods)
Turbo is stupid in this engine, compression ratio is already mad. Better lightened flywheel and cams, and you get a beast!!!
