Jeep Gladiator Overlanding Daniel Boone National Forest (2021)

Last year we took an overlanding trip to the Daniel Boone National Forest to try out the infamous Kentucky Adventure Tour. On that trip, we had our 2020 Jeep JL and since we've started building the Jeep Gladiator we knew we had to take a trip back with a vehicle that was a little more capable than the last. On this trip, we spent the majority of our time in the Red River Gorge Geological Area which is located deep in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Most of the trails in this specific area are part of the small but scenic forest road system. If you make your way around the Kentucky Adventure Tour you will find much more challenging routes like the one in this video located on pumpkin hollow road just outside of Stanton Kentucky. Overlanding in the Daniel Boone national forest will bring you through the Nada tunnel and into the lower elevation sections of this massive canyon system. With heavy rain pounding down pretty much the entire time we were here the trails were a muddy mess with bumper deep water crossings and more mud than I was hoping for. This is the first day of our overlanding trip into Daniel Boone National Forest and it didn't disappoint. If you're planning a trip to this area be prepared for frequent strong thunderstorms and highwater around every turn.
