Fun fact: If the refs didn’t put 1 second back on the clock in that Texas vs Nebraska game, Cincinnati would’ve been playing Alabama in the national championship.
Wouldn't it be TCU since they were higher ranked heading into the final week?
this came out of nowhere but in the sec championship in 2012, alabama vs georgia was the real national championship.
Virginia Tech @ Wake Forest 2014
convinced texas would have won against alabama without mccoy’s injury
You broke my heart once with the Cajuns v Florida. But you can make it all better 2011 New Orleans Bowl Between Louisiana and SDSU and the interesting penalty of illegal stemming. But the game winning kick need to be the radio edit. Full game and radio should be here. Loving the channel
Just imagine coach O sitting for 7 overtimes in his clothes that were covered in Gatorade
why did they go for the 2 couldn't they have just won with the extra point kick
@@kevinhuang8916you have to go for 2 after 2ot
@@kevinhuang8916 In 2018, the rule was that, starting in the third overtime, extra point kicks weren't allowed. Only choice is to go for 2. (That game was the reason the OT rules changed.)
Several (almost a dozen) highly questionable calls in that game. On the clip the QB was down, but the O PI in the endzone (no call) and the flag on LSU was horrible
And then to lose the game lol
Imagine how pissed the defense in the locker room would be post game after holding a team to 3 points and still losing :| 10:50
That same BC team also lost a 14-0 game to FSU and a 7-6 game to Duke earlier in the year
Glad I never watched that game. 3-0 final? No thanks.
Happens a lot in baseball, hockey, and soccer. Defense is brilliant, but still loses 1-0 or 2-1.
@@r5t6y7u8 some of those games are the best games in hockey and soccer.
It was the worst football game I've ever watched. BC actually had the #1 ranked defense in the country coming into that game, but offense was nonexistent obviously
@@r5t6y7u8 It happened in the NFL. Washington played the N.Y. Jets and it ended 3-0 Jets in overtime. The most boring game in history.
Moral of the story: don’t try to run the ball with less than 15 seconds left and no timeouts
even if you have timeouts lol
Or pass it short of the end zone when you’re in the red zone… go Dawgs 😞
@@LeskoBrandon2x I blame the coaches on that. Should have had Murray spike the football, why the hell did they have to rush that play?! Can't blame Conley for catching the ball, that's his job as a receiver.
@@johnathanpatrick6118 yeah but it still hurts just as bad today as it did 9 years ago 😂 and not to mention 4th & 23. Both against the gumps 😫
@@johnathanpatrick6118 he shouldn't have caught it. still had time left on the clock for another player if he didn't.
I dont think I've ever seen a home crowd cheer so much for a dropped pass by their own team
In that case, it was a good thing. If that was ruled a catch, clock runs, and the game's over.
Because remember, in college football, you’re down as soon as you touch the ground whether you’re touched or not.
Honestly, though it's a niche situation, I'd rather see the receiver bat that ball down if they aren't absolutely sure they can score on it.
Like the Georgia player during the 2012 SEC championship.
@@erikeisner1288 that's crazy, if only the original comment was about that exact idea
9:07 the umpire fumbling the ball then walking in circles lol what is he doing
I assumed he was checking with the sideline to see if there was 1 second left or if time was expired but I have no clue
9:35 LMFAO coach gets gatorade bath and then 7 Overtimes later loses
Last time a game will go that long because ncaa hates fun
Man I bet that coach was PISSED sitting there for another 2+ hours soaked with gatorade LOL
I was like… I thought it was 31 to 31! Then seconds later …Why is it 72-72? They screw something up? Then saw the 7 OT’s.
5:24 I've never seen an offense so relived that a pass was ruled incomplete.
You should do every top ten matchup of the last two decades
Great one
LSU had 7 of them alone last season lmao
Maybe top 5 matchups. That would make more sense. Not including playoffs
Being an Auburn fan is wild we’ve had so many clips in these three videos. At least most of them were in our favor lol
Love how Florida was pumped about beating UL Lafayette…
74-72? that’s mental
He missed adding:
-the fumble ruled incomplete that would've given LSU the win in one of the previous overtimes
-the phantom PI on the 2 pt conversion before the game winning conversion
Yeah the highest scoring football game ever, other than the Georgia tech game which was 222-0 or something like that, but that was a VERY long time ago.
@@chrisyocum9993 1916 Cumberland Against Georgia Tech. 222-0
7th overtime O:
I remember the game going on so long, I had to go to sleep cause i had to be at work at 4 am. Woke up to that score like......😑😑😑😳😳😳😂😂😂😂
Dafuq did I miss?
9:59 - 10:01
*that escalated quickly*
Just imagine how that LSU coach felt having to go through 7 OT’s with Gatorade soaked clothes lol
5:24 it's all right you dropped the ball nice job man
1982: lost the Natty to Penn State and Joe Paterno Lord help us
1992: lost to Florida and Tennessee to be co champs of the east but at least beat Ohio State
2002: lost to unranked Florida again and otherwise would have played Miami in Natty
2012: 5 yards short of SEC Championship vs Alabama dynasty and playing Notre Dame in the Natty
2022: probably gonna blow a 28-3 to Clemson in our regular season matchup and in the playoffs 🤷♂️
You forgot about blowing the lead in the 2018 Title game, and running a fake punt in the 2018 SEC Championship game...always hurts
Clarification - Georgia vs. Clemson game is Sept. 4, 2021.
@@encycl07pedia- At least Georgia are 12-1 against their four main rivals (Florida, Auburn, GT, and Tennessee) from 2017-2019.
This one is funnier knowing what we know today.
It's alright now.
I love watching these when is part 4?
Right now
Was at the Iowa vs Iowa state game, as a Hawkeye fan it was pure bliss seeing the cyclones screw themselves over like that. Tackling your own player to give us the ball?!? Can’t get any better than that.
Thanks for reading my comment and actually taking my suggestion! :D
So happy to see the Iowa/Iowa st punt from last season and then you turn around and put that boneheaded play from stanzi the next one.
5:20 I love the look of relief #83 has.
If you guys are looking another crazy ending, look up the ending of Iowa @ Syracuse in like 2002. There were 10 plays at the goal line in overtime that were all stuffed that resulted in an Iowa win
czcams.com/video/oTb2mIIqwHc/video.html jk it was 2006 anyway here’s the link
That sounds like literally the most Iowa thing ever.
Thanks for all your work.
If you do a part 4, I’d recommend the ending for UConn vs. Cincinnati in 2017. Cincy was up 23-16. UConn threw a Hail Mary that was incomplete, but Cincy got called for interference, giving UConn an untimed down. UConn scored to make it 23-22, but got a celebration penalty that moved the extra point back 15 yards, and they wound up missing the kick. It’s sort of like the Piss and Miss from the Egg Bowl last year.
These videos make you doubt every ending.
"Are you sure it's over? Are you sure there isn't a penalty?"
Lol i love how #34 in that Wake Forest clip realizes that the dog pile is taking time off the clock and just lays back on top 10:41
This was great! And thanks for putting what year the games took place. It changes how the game was called. i.e. 10-sec runoffs or not.
Dude! Where did you find Baylor UNLV 1999?? I HAVE SEARCHED FAR AND WIDE for that footage but many said it was lost amd never actually recorded on film! Excellent work!
3:16 “Alabama faces Norte Dame.” And boy was that an absolute snore fest. Huge joke of a championship game.
The fact that ik MMG was at that Arizona State MSU game makes me happy
You should do worst field goal misses
I'm pretty sure Alabama would be on here more than once.😅
Redsona Productions your probably right😂
@@sportzeditz7940 🤣
That would be a lot of fsu. Hahaha
@@vilheard3030 I’ve never been more stressed out over a PAT. I’m a bama fan btw.
0:43 Roughing the Referee, #21 Defense 🏈
That northwestern v western michigan fumble is a hard watch and and hard way to go out
3:16 “Alabama faces Notre Dame.” And boy was that an absolute snore fest. Huge joke of a championship game.
Notre Dame had no business being there.
It should’ve been Oregon vs Alabama
I still think that the SECCG was the natty that year. Either team was gonna blow the brakes off of ND
@@ketchupking8742Just like the 2022 Peach Bowl. And the 2023 National Championship.
2:01 this explains the whole Iowa State season
In the Florida Virginia game, that field goal looked good to me!
For Auburn to recognize that fake was amazing. Good stuff
I was there for A&M vs. LSU 7OT. The only time I've ever been happy to see Kellen Mond make a mistake, LOL.
A true blessing in disguise
5:34
Ref was very close to smacking the shit out of that camera guy
If there's a takeaway from this series, it's that you've gotta learn clock management
8:59
We *ALWAYS* find a way to beat Memphis. Even if they beat themselves
yea we do!
go knights!
I’m not for either team but... Memphis needs a win against y’all lol
@@vaporstyping8006 well I was worried until their running back opted out. They've lost a lot of their talent since last year and honestly, besides two defensive starters on our end, UCF is not losing nearly as much (we still have our head coach after all)
@@vaporstyping8006 they actually do have a win against us, in 1990 when we were still FCS (D1-AA) lol
I'm personally a byu fan 😎
The last play: I love how the coach is pissed off about what happened but it's like dude, your defense gave up 3 points and your offense scored zero. Really? What the hell are you doing offensively that you couldn't score even one touchdown? Is it any wonder why they had no idea what to do in that situation?
Baylor UNLV 1999. I was at that game! Still can't believe we didn't take a knee
Do a part 4
I'm surprised you didn't have the Miracle on the Mountain in any of your videos. Appalachian State vs Furman in 2002. Furman scored with 7 seconds left to go up 15-14. However, on the extra point, they went for the two point conversion and threw an interception that was returned the other way for 2 points. App St. won 16-15. Furman arguably still hasn't recovered from that loss, while App State has won 3 national titles and moved up to the FBS since that point.
He made a video on that now.
And that Furman QB was future coach Billy Napier.
That was a lame celebration foul called on Washington's QB.
Idea: Close Chokes that *would’ve* been the biggest upsets (by point spread)
(Or maybe biggest upset letdowns?)
One example: Alabama State vs UAB 2019. Alabama state late in the 4th driving downfield to score and down by only 5. Ended up throwing a pick allowing UAB to bleed clock and prevent the upset. UAB was favored to win by 40.5 points. Ended up winning 24-19.
2:03 - only El Assico can provide us a moment where the return team suffers friendly fire on a punt to lose a game.
When 4:16 happened I got a screenshot of ESPN's score that had Mizzou highlighted like they won 14-15
9:05 reminds me of something my lil bro would do after using all his timeouts and I’d still be the cool big brother and call a timeout for him to give him one last shot. Made the games better and couldn’t just crush him everytime or else he’d never play!
This is a very nice big brother thing to do. My big bro would pause and then unpause the game when I was throwing a deep pass so the receiver I was controlling would stop running and the ball would fall incomplete.
9:23 - I was at that game. When Mond's knee was down on that play, it was the guys in the scoreboard that made that happen. As soon as it happened, they kept playing that clip over and over and then the refs reviewed it. Gig 'em.
RIP for the LSU coach who got soaked with gatorade, then had to sit there for 2+ hours thru SEVEN OVERTIMES just to lose
9:36 in the Texas A & M - LSU game, not only does the losing coach get the iced Gatorade dumped on him, but a referee does too. Two firsts in college football.
It's so much worse than that too. The LSU coach gets gatorade dumped on him with around 20s left in the 4th quarter. Then they play SEVEN OVERTIMES (literally more than 3 hours of real time) just to lose. He had to sit there in gatorade soaked clothes for HOURS and then LOSE LMAO.
If you do another one Liberty vs. Va Tech from 2020
As a husker fan, we don’t talk ab the Texas game. If we would’ve won, Texas would’ve been a while different story. But suh was 🐐ed tho
Yea Suh single handedly almost won that game.
As a Wyoming fan, I'm still pissed Nebraska lost to Texas in the 1st Big 12 Title game in 1996. Had Nebraska, won, my Pokes would've gone to either to Holiday or the Cotton Bowl with a 10-2 record and #25 ranking. Texas' win kept us out of the bowl season!!!!!!!
BEAT THE HELL OUT OF LITTLE RED!
But in all seriousness we always did have good games against Nebraska.
As a Iowa fan, I'm happy we beat your pesky Cornhuskers.
Think about this: If Texas holds on to that interception against Texas Tech in 2008, Crabtree's TD never happens and they play Florida for the title instead of OU. Wonder if they would have given Tebow and his squad a better match?
Several of these would go well in a video about terrible clock management...
How did the Bluegrass Miracle not make the list? Kentucky gave their coach the Gatorade bath, and the fans stormed the field, and their team lost. Love your videos btw.
I was looking for that in the three videos and none of them has it. The Kentucky fans that stormed the field didn't realize that LSU just won.
@@kevinpayton2664 Plus the momentary "KENTUCKY 33 - LSU 30" final score graphic that flashed on the screen.
I’ll always remember that Nebraska v Texas game. I was a freshman in hs and had moved to Nebraska from New Orleans and was watching with a bunch of ne fans. I was the only one happy they lost. I hate Nebraska with a passion lol
I always find it hilarious when a top 10 team barely beats an in ranked team and celebrate like they actually did something amazing 😂😂
I was at the Auburn NW game, I went from joy, to sick, to joy, to sick, to joy.
Lmao wasnt ready for the score to jump from 31-24 to 72-72 in that lsu texas a&m game.
Pain
2012 rose bowl? Lowkey Wild ending
What I've learned from these is that when the kicker gets a second chance with little to no time or overtime they miss it again looool
Auburn is always involved with some crazy games
i will never understand how football players at this level of the sport can be totally clueless about what is happening in crunch time. Its kind of mind-blowing to see some of it.
5:25 the team who got the incomplete pass was cheering lolololol
Northwestern fan here - as much as we love Pat Fitzgerald, I will always ALWAYS hold a small amount of bitterness in my heart for that ludicrous "trick" play attempt. No matter how many times I see it, it never makes a lick of sense. Just go for the damn touchdown with your offense on the field, everybody and their mother knew Flaherty wasn't kicking that ball. OOF
5:44 the last snap a _healthy_ QB Braxton Miller ever had
How has the Boise State - Oklahoma 2007 Fiesta Bowl not made any of these 3 videos?
i was wanting tamu vs lsu one
I was a usher at that Missouri game. Heartbreaking:(
You weren't the first to lose on an untimed play from a penalty. Look up LSU vs Tennessee in 2010. Derek Dooley straight up blew an upset in Baton Rouge because too many men were on the field last play. The Vols players dropped to their knees sobbing while Tiger Stadium roared like a jet (LSU managed to get the touchdown on this new play).
@@thunderbird1921 Dooley is just a bad coach
As a Clemson fan, the Ohio State and Kentucky bowls games had me sick a few times
Do a "teams losing on missed field goal" compilation
If you do a part 4 you should include the ending of the Texas Tech vs Kansas 2019 game.
I will always remember where I was for 7:30. Nail-biting heartbreaker.
I'm still pissed Iowa State lost that game to Iowa last year. We were right there fam, right there.
I’m an Iowa fan but yes you guys had that game.
You're missing the Arkansas vs. Ole Miss 2015 game, The Henry Heave on 4th and 25 and the ensuing touchdown and 2pt conversion for the win instead of the tie. And of course now you need to add the Arkansas vs. Auburn game from last week where Auburn fumbled the ball in a botched spike but the refs blew the play dead.
7th overtime?! Wow! The score in that game looked more like a basketball score.
62 points scored in regulation. 84 points scored in overtime. Actually led to the OT rules being changed.
College football is amazing.
If you do another one of these, don't forget Nebraska vs. Missouri 1997 and their game-tying TD off the receivers foot.
1:13 I went to that game and wow was I mad. I lost my voice for 3 days after that game
You guys had Pac12 refs (I'm not even kidding) officiating this game. So they definitely had a conflict of interest, considering ASU is a Pac12 team.
Those refs (they're not people in my opinion) weren't happy about the game being tied, so they found a way to break the rules set in place for them to change a game's outcome. All because the money they put down in Vegas on the game is way more important to them than the integrity of the occupation they hold.
Can't wait until we see mass arrests of people who will be former college and NFL sports officials for this.
@@codywarhawk7099 wow! thank you! I could not believe that ending. They really screwed us over on that one and yeah they were pac 12 refs
If you ever include a part 4, the end to the SJU @ Wheaton d3 playoff game was crazy. Wheaton gave the ball to their FB, a backup OL, and when he scored the winning TD he spiked the ball resulting in a 15 yard penalty and putting the extra point out of range. Here's the link to the play: czcams.com/video/pgH5xfGaJOA/video.html
That Florida-ULL clip hurt to watch
That gray field had my brain frozen for a moment…
I was wondering if something was wrong with my phone or something. I was like, wait...that field is grey.
You gotta add in the 2015 Arkansas @ Ole Miss game
“Roughing the kicker”
Announcer: Roughing the announcer
Always always always have a SECOND PLAY CALLED if there is 20 seconds or less in a game and the first play doesn't get out of bounds like its supposed to.
Oklahoma vs TCU, 1998. Oklahoma down 9-0 with 2 minutes left, scores a TD, recovers onside kick, then with less than 30 seconds left, throws an INT that would seal the game for TCU, but the OU tight end strips the ball and recovers it in field goal range. OU kicks the game winning FG on the next play.
That Auburn Northwestern literally ended like 5 times
Two of the weirdest and craziest games I saw were last year, University of Hawaii at home vs Fresno State and vs BYU... I'm an SDSU fan and they're in the same conference, usually I wouldn't watch the games, but I watched those for some reason and they were WACK.
0:16 - ...was his knee down? No.
*Misses that both elbows touch the turf.*
That 7 OT barnburner is why the OT rules were changed recently.
Man memphis did themselves dirty there
In case you've missed it the last few years the UCF v. Memphis game has become one if the top 3 annual games to watch. It's always a great game with a shit load of offense.
9:36 Gatorade soaked coach having to shake the winning coach’s hand later
Merci
Man these were nuts. And am I missing something with that Western Mich game? It seems like he clearly threw it back into play, should have been a Northwestern touchdown.
@@encycl07pedia- yeah caught it on rewatch. Still looks close dude, chill out.
Roll tide
Tennessee v Georgia 2017 I want to say. The double Hail Mary game.
9:32 orgeron had to be soaked in Gatorade for 7 ot periods lol
Man that Wake Forest - BC 3-0 game must have been miserable to watch
that georgia play infuriates me to this day why did we not spike it Ill never know.
