My husband and I took my mother-n-law, our daughter, our granddaughter, my husband's two Aunt's on his mother's side of the family to Graceland today. It is sad to see them struggle in old age. We love them and they loved Elvis. I was 12 when Elvis died. It was a very sad day for us and America. He was truely loved and respected by many men and women. He was so nice and kind. He was very charitable. He loved our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. He loved to sing gospel songs. He grew up poor and never forgot what poverty is and how it feels. He did not perceive himself as a king. He often said, there is only one king and that is JESUS CHRIST. We had a wonderful day and made good memories with our family. I am glad you took your Mom. I know she was so thankful to have such a loving son and grandson.

It is always wonderful to see Elvis fans visit for the first time, especially those who have waited a lifetime. There is nothing 'insane' about the tributes fans pay him on the Wall,...it is just another way of reaching out to the King, a beautiful human being we all miss so much. The fans are the ones who keep his memory alive and he will live forever.

The most impressive thing is that you took your mom to Graceland even though she was moving slowly and you helped her enjoy it! I went there in the 80s and I want to go again but I have health issues too. Maybe I can get my son to take me, I will send him this link. Lol 😂 thanks for sharing your trip.😊🙋🏼‍♀️

My brother and I were 15 when Elvis died.
We had our first jobs delivering newspapers.
He got promoted to marking up and I got his round. There was no breakfast TV in the UK and we had to be really quiet getting up at 5am - so no radio.
We learned that Elvis had died when cutting open the bundles of newspapers.
We were all in shock - we just couldn't believe it! Everyone stood in silence and read every front page.
Elvis is the King of Rock and always will be. If only everyone had his talent, good looks and work ethic.
You did a great thing taking your mum to Graceland. I will get there one day.
I am so sorry to hear that Lisa Marie has passed, and my thoughts and prayers are with Priscilla and the family of Lisa Marie.
Elvis Presley made this world a better place.

I love your Mum and I love Elvis. I am so lucky to have a son, who took me to Graceland last year and is taking me again next year. He took me not only to fulfil my dream to go to Graceland but taking me again to make me happy which is very important . My son enjoyed every moment watching my excitement at Graceland and was happy in my happiness without one word of complaint. Doing cool things are a lot of fun but it is only fulfilling when you have support and love with those who are dear to you. ❤️🕺🏻

It's definitely not only an American obsession, but many throughout the entire world continue to share with the obsession. His unique voice, perfect pitch, magnificent dance skill, great looks and abilities to please all races, genders and colors, whilst bringing his religious beliefs through song, right along side his incredible blues, rock & roll etc. This truly offered "everyone" not only a sense of his talent, but his intelligence as well. Making such an unusual brilliant man very well liked and loved by so many then, and many more even today.
His unique and "ageless" style made fans out of both parents and their kids, sharing amazing and positive common interests between them.
I never met an individual who genuinely disliked Elvis or who couldn't find at least one song where they found total enjoyable appreciation. He managed to sing a little something for everyone; regardless of who they were or where they were from.

Devoted, protective Elvis fans are fierce and will protect Elvis with a fury!!!!! Many on here have identified this guy as an as****e. He should be ashamed to even want to share this with Elvis fans cuz it is disgraceful!!!! I have noted his page, his name, screens-shotted of his pictures and I will continue to boycott his channel and WILL TELL MANY OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.His personality on here, it is probably most likely like this at home, oh and his partner must be so excited to be his partner!!!! NOT!!!!! AND YOU K. Matt, you certainly don’t know what you are talking about!!!! I do have a right to TELL others if I want, don’t you dare tell me I can’t. Telling!!!!!! Glad you got to take your mom to see Graceland before she passed
I’m from Tennessee and was living in central Tennessee the year Elvis died I was 12 years old and I was having a rough year I had lost my father just months earlier in 1976 and lost two more family members as well my Great Aunt and Uncle so when I heard of Elvis’s death I not only felt hurt for myself but my first thought was of Lisa Marie because she just few years younger than me and I just knew the loss she had to felt due to my own terrible grief.
I didn’t go to Graceland until 1985 I just felt I couldn’t enter his only place of solace but when I went I felt great joy there and will always cherish my time there
It’s been lot of years so I can only imagine all the new additions that the Presley estate had added for the fans but for me I just saw the home and the Lisa Marie Jet that was what was open at the time .
It will always be a memory that I will cherish as I’m sure your mother’s memory will be a blessing

What a special day that must have been for your. Mom! I'm so glad that you had the opportunity to make those memories for her. I enjoyed hearing her talk about Elvis. I always loved Elvis's rendition of "You Were Always On My Mind". I remember where I was the day he died. Ironically. I was visiting an Aunt and there was Elvis music playing on her kitchen radio. I don't think you ever forget where you were the day someone significant died. His contribution to the music world can not be overstated. Also, the family plot is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your Graceland trip with me.💕

My hubby took me to Memphis to see Elvis' resting place, in October of 2018. I fell in love with him the first time I heard "Let me be your Teddy Bear". All my life I tried to find out everything I could about Elvis. It's kind of funny but as we were getting ready to drive by Graceland I knew exactly where I was. I'd seen those gates in my dreams.
The day Elvis left this world to go to Heaven I just knew that my whole life was going to stop turning around.

"IF" Elvis had been a democrat and visited Pres Carter.... maybe some interest??? If they could have piled up the effect the Beatles had into one place and/or one person, you would have the same results. Elvis by himself created a following like no other except the Beatles. So, yeah, for those who loved him,..it still isnt enough. Ask your mom. Fantastic gift for your mom....if only your dad would have stopped!!!!

I have loved Elvis since I was like 2, no one I was around liked Elvis including my grandparents so I have no idea how I got around to him at two, I remember singing his songs and on tv when they would announce that it had been a certain amount of years since his death I knew exactly who he was and I would always say I remember that day, even though I was only 2 seeing that. I’m 18 now. Although I wasn’t lucky enough to be alive at the same time as him or see him, I was lucky enough to visit Graceland/ Memphis for a few days this past spring and it’s been my favorite trip ever. I for sure would love to go back and when I have kids I definitely would want to bring them even though it is super expensive for no reason, my brother wanted a snow globe but they were $30!!

Elvis loved his daughter, family and Priscilla like nobody’s business. Keeping Graceland like this shows how much they loved him back. Lisa Marie is older now than he ever got to be. Yes, she has made mistakes like we all do. But Graceland is certainly not one of them and she can forevermore to be proud of that. What they have done here is an achievement for the history books. An excellent production. Thank you. The sound of ONLY the water fountain at Elvis' grave; such a sensitive choice for the audio. I was very moved by that. Can not say enough about how respectfully you intertwined the threads of your mom's great passion with your great and tender patience. Going back for her special sunglasses, walking at her pace, moving her to a better horse viewing vantage point, accompanying her total immersion in what for you was total sensory overload, including her in the visuals of each section of the tour so that now she can watch herself over and over again enjoying the dream of her lifetime, the vintage photos of your family story evenly tucked in with the vintage photos of Elvis' family story, and, and, and. You have put more than just the said two weeks into this work. This trip and video rights a wrong deeply felt by your mom. This trip and video does you and your son proud as an example of honoring, without mocking, your mom's feelings. Your own feelings and comments as included in the video only serve to accentuate how far you went to make this trip all about your mom and her love for Elvis. At the end of your video you might have just tagged on the typical R.I.P but instead you wrote, almost as if you yourself were saying it outloud, Rest In Peace. I heard it. A special ending for a special video.

That's wonderful you brought her. Memphis has changed since Elvis was around. Whitehaven which surrounds Graceland is a no go area, esp for tourists. If Elvis would have bought a house and came up around our time he would have lived in Germantown or collierville, or out east in the rural areas just outside of Memphis. In that day and time it was a rural area and country and nothing like it is now. But you being from California know how la changed over the last 40 50 years that's just like Memphis. I'm from here as I told you before and I love my city but the truth is truth and, so many people I know have moved out and I'm afraid to say I believe Elvis would have.
