      i studied chemical engineering but i wish i would've studied geography, i'm interested in life generally and in it's diversity, than the minute scientific details. I'm feeling pretty stuck in life at the moment..

    • @TheCloverAffiliate12
      @TheCloverAffiliate12 Před 4 dny

      @@diceydaze How are you doing now? Have you taken any time to learn some geography? Just remember that it's generally okay to change directions (even and especially with small steps)! You may not find all the answers you're looking for on the first try, and that's okay 😊

    • @diceydaze
      @diceydaze Před 3 dny

      @TheCloverAffiliate12 As much as I do not want to continue in chemical engineering, I have to pursue a master's degree in it because it is the only way to move to another country where I will have the opportunity and freedom to become anything I want. When I chose to study chemical engineering, I didn't know anything about it; I just wanted to study engineering since I didn't get into medicine, trying to look good for the family. I was a bright kid fresh out of secondary school who felt he could do anything. Now I'm frustrated.
      I come from a middle-income African home. If you're not a doctor, lawyer, or engineer, then you're a disappointment. I regret the five years I invested in my current degree. Although I graduated with a second-class upper, this discipline is depressing as hell. It is not for someone like me. I'm a fun and social person who likes to be happy and interact with people. I am interested in life in general, faith, animals, cultures, and families, not things that are too technical and abstract from reality.
      Perhaps if I grew up in Asia, Europe, or a more technologically advanced environment, I would find the stimulation I need. But in Africa, where I'm from, to be sincere, we don't need this. We go through a lot already just to live. We are not ready for these abstract things that do not address our immediate needs or make us powerless in the current situation. As a chemical engineer, you can't be employed just anywhere. You have to pursue a distinct corporate job that is tied to locations separated from the rest of society.

    So if you're in the Southern hemisphere, the map is mirrored (presumably). Honestly, if I could, I would demolish my house and build a courtyard house. That central courtyard is sanctuary.

    Hi Cliff,
    not long ago I wondered why there seems to be 2 different maps for Feng Shui, namely the "round" (actually 8 sided) map referring the compass on the one hand, and the square bagua map, referring to/aligning with the entrance side..
    Now I see, in trad. Chin. homes there _is no_ difference, bc. the entrance (usually) _is_ (or rather at least traditionally was) in the south, wherefor the zones of both maps conform/overlap.
    *But* now I still got one question:
    What if the entrance _isn't_ in the south, which map to follow then?
    Is it better to orient oneself (concerning the house) on the compas (and therefor the 8 sided map with red/fire in the south),
    or on the entrance (and therefor the square bagua map, where red/fire is aligned with the entry-side)?
    Thank you so much! ☆

The rooms I have are facing east and north with the windows. My kua nr is 6. I tried looking into Bazi, but I find that more confusing. Do you place the head of the bed in the health direction or in the health location (and you need to face the health direction?).

    • @sannaseesvalo2602
      @sannaseesvalo2602 Před rokem +2

      No, that's just the color of the element.
      You need to balance the elements with colors and items. Not too much of anything, not too little either. Every part of the house needs every element and if there's only white in the metal section or red in the south it can become too overruling and it is not in balance. Fire enriches the Earth, Earth shapes the Metal, Metal enriches the Water, Water feeds Wood, Wood is the food for Fire.
      And all of the points of compass (areas) have their own element, eg. South has Fire, North has Water and so on. They also have their symbolic features in areas of life, f.e. South being area of love and relationships.
      When an area is balanced, the chi (the flow of energy) is balanced, not too fast or not too slow.
      F.e.: don't use blue/water colors (or symbols!) in the bathroom, it has already a lot of elements of water. If possible, don't have your bathroom in North. Also too much Metal (white, gray) is not good in bathroom. Depending of the point of compass you need to restrict and balance the Water with Wood and Fire and Earth.
      No red in bedroom unless you need to light up your intimate life... 😆 And even then it does not give you good sleep, just more spark...
      I'm not a Feng Shui expert (hopefully one day I'll be able to study it thoroughly!) but this is how I've understood. And there's a lot that can't be fitted in here....

      @sannaseesvalo2602 Před rokem +2

      Depends of the point of compass. From what I've figured.
      So you need to find out how your house/apartment lies according to compass (your phone might have a compass app) and define the directions by that, not by the grid only put the way that the door is on the lower side of the grid. (I've seen this done too in some books.)
      Apparently there are two schools about that but from what I've studied and tried the one going along the compass works better.

    • @Lizzifer7
      @Lizzifer7 Před 9 měsíci

      If a (older model) north hemisphere compass is used in the southern hemisphere, the south pointing end of its needle would dip a lot more, since that is the weighted end and the field lines dip toward the south. The needle would likely drag on the base of the compass. Making it a pretty useless compass.
