People talk about this all the time but they are next to each other. So you can live in that area and enjoy what both cities offer.
Agreed! Just need to pay attention to taxes and city services. You could live in a city like Westland and be in the Livonia school district, pay more taxes than Livonia and not have the same city services like their epic leaf collection đ
I used to live in farmington hills but now I live in novi on the Novi, Northville border this video is perfect for me!
novi has lakeshore park, pavilion shore park and lakeshore beach
You mentioned Maybury State Park but Lakeshore Park in Novi is as nice, has biking/walking trails and it has a beach on the southside of Walled Lake
I love the quality of these videos! Keep them coming!
Thanks! Will do! Glad you like them :)
Great vid, Paul!
Wow!! I feel like that video was made for me!! Love your videos
Thank you for watching them!! đ Do you live in Novi or Northville?
@@PaulWolfert I used to live in Novi. I had to move out of michigan in december but I'm planning on moving back this year by november.
Hey, Paul! Firstly, a great job covering cities in the Metro DTW area. Could you also please cover the Auburn Hills/Rochester/Hills areas please? Thanks!
Rochester Hills sucks. 30 mins to get on any damn freeway. Traffic makes you wonder why you didnât move to Newyork instead? Just rich people fancy restaurants and shitty traffic and location. Thatâs what RH is all about.
Paul I just found your channel and it feels awesome to hear someone talk about Michigan Period! You're closer to the Metro area but many if you wanna cover some true beauty in Michigan... Head âŹïž north. I swear Michigan is more beautiful north of central Michigan. I used to live in Charlevoix "The beautiful". They literally have a sign that says "Welcome to Charlevoix the beautiful" when you enter the city limits. Seriously it was the home to Jon Bene Ramsey as a child. And just northeast of Petoskey there's a place called Bay Harbor. That place is epic with glamour. I'm pretty sure it's the richest place in Michigan. The Upper peninsula has red clay dirt and is the home to the mysterious Phenomenon. Not to mention the beauty of Lake Michigan. It's like the ocean, without the salt of course lol. Plus you'd be shocked on how many islands there are in the Great lakes that's part of Michigan. I'm a local if you can't tell. But I'm so excited to see someone out here displaying some of the amazing things about Michigan rather than... Ghetto and criminal activity, Flint river water epidemic, the Dam disasters, etc... Not to mention, there's so many talented, amazing and successful superstar artists that came out of this state. Thank you Paul. I will now be stalking your page... Bye lol!!!
This video was perfect as Iâm debating moving to one of the 2 from CA. May be reaching out to you soon.
I'll be ready to help! Send an email my way paul@movingmi.com
These are basically the same honestly. Novi is much easier to get to the Freeway which prolly matters the most to me but everyone is different
I lived in both cities. They're both great for their own seperate reasons. Novi has a lot more to do though.
Novi actually has several mobile home parks. Lot rent is HIGH, but purchase prices are obviously below $100k. While we arent talking about traditional site homes- and site rent is high by mobile home standards-Novi clearly is ahead in affordable housing options.
Northville also has maybury riding stable, where you can ride horses.
Thank you
I really like your channel. I am doing some research watch to move to Michigan with my husband in fee years after her retires we really like peace quiet no social life no consumerist just a grocery store and lots of nature. We fish and hunt we love water forest trails fresh air and so on. We don't want to live in upper peninsula though. We need to be in the country but not far from a small charming town. I am an artist and everything around me has to be beautiful clean small charming quaint and plus nature. What do you think about Alpena ?
Oh and we want to use 100k for a house. Thank you, Marina
Can you make videos about eastside metro Detroit (Roseville, Macomb, Warren, Grosse Pointe, Harper Woods and Detroit neighborhoods)? Also Grosse Ile island idk if its much information for a video but it would be nice to learn about the island.
Yes I would also like to see videos on these cities too. Most videos are either Novi, northville, or Livonia.
Eventually, I will. Right now I'm focusing on cities near me that I know and work in (helping people buy and sell). Eventually plan to hire agents to help me in those areas.
Do a video about wixom
Iâll be grabbing ur info
Have you done a Plymouth video? I see Canton/Northville/Novi/Farmington...
Not yet! It's on the list đ
Please Paul check out Bay Harbor
Northville is better. Just moved from Novi/Walled lake area. Novi's upside is it is closer to the mall and emagine. Northville, however is closer to things I will want to have access to on a daily basis.
Northville also has a downtown. Personally, Trader Joe's being in Northville is a game changer.
Weâre moving to Michigan soon all the way from Vegas. Iâm having a hard time choosing a place to rent. I found a nice house in Superior Township. Could you give me more information about that area ?
It's going to be a lot different than Vegas! đ - good area. Right between Ann Arbor and Canton but has more of a "country" feel.
@@PaulWolfert I miss the country feeling!!

Hey! Thank you for watching!! My videos are really focused on "Metro Detroit" - those other areas are about 4-5 hours away from me.
I got kicked out of paradise park for breaking an arcade game đđ
đ€ what game was it? đ
Im just going out on a limb here, but I'll say NONE!
đ€ what?
Iâm gonna say it.
If your white and have money. Yah your fine.
I lived in novi. I was raised there my father was my uncle and other uncle my godfathers. My mother and her sisters and and godmothers where all raised near by too.
So (and a lot of adults there donât see this or ignore it but I as a kid didnât and I wonât now! Or ever and nor will my mother! Or step father!) Novi is the type of place where if your too skinny your made fun of to large made fun of.
If you donât have enough money you are looked down at.
The schools canât handle you if you have adhd and punish kids for virtually nothing other than the fact they just donât like your child. Me and others literally went years experiencing physical abuse from other students and mental abuse from students and teachers and nothing was done until the police were involved and even then they continued letting it happen occasionally. I have emotional trauma from living in Novi and so do many children. For a good bit of my life I was pretty lucky and I can promise you I wouldâve been more bullied and I would be more affected by the bullying today if I wasnât in the situation I was in. I was fortunate enough to be in a family who had a lot of money and was raised there. I am very clearly Caucasian. And those two things Iâm so thankful I had because they allowed me just enough protection to not be bullied to the point where I was sent to the hospital or ended my own life. I had blocks thrown on my head I was kicked sent home bleeding. I was called fat. And this was daily for me and other kids at school. The only thing that school ever did for me was show me how fortunate and lucky I was. One day in second grade I was being kicked on the bus in the morning they wouldnât stop no matter how much I begged. Teachers parents bus drivers they didnât bat an eye if any kid was being bullied unless they were rich and Caucasian and fit Their standards. If you were one of those things they would tell the kid to stop. But if you didnât fit all of them they wouldnât do anything they still donât. That day I was being kicked so I snapped and I punched a girl in the face out of self-defense. I was shaking and terrified all of my classes. I was scared that an adult would find out I was scared of what they would do to me I was scared of other kids would do to me when they found out. Set in the year before it was the first time I even ever had a single teacher that liked me. I was a perfectly behaved kid I worked as hard as I could. But I didnât fit novis standers so no matter how much a teacher liked me I didnât trust or expect him to do anything. I was literally crying when my principal called me out of class. I was terrified for my self. I knew it was self-defense and I knew my parents wouldnât be mad but I had seen kids get suspended get expelled for self-defense. The only kids who ever got away with self defense where what novi considers ânormalâ or âcorrectâ
and âstandard fitting.â
And I had seen kids The kids who are doing the bullying that caused that self-defense have no repercussions. I was absolutely terrified because I knew I wasnât gonna be able to get away with it because I wasnât ânormalâ at least that was what I thought. I was too terrified to even admit to the principal it was self-defense. No child should be terrified to go to school to go out in public to tell and adult. No child should think that they had/have no one to go too. That if they went so Someone nothing would be done. No child should even have to use self defense! My principal watch the video he knew it was self-defense but the only reason I got away with it was because he used to work with my grandma and as one point became grandmaâs boss. His kids went to school with my father and his friends and siblings. Everybody loved my grandma.
Sooner or later I moved in with my mom who I made promise me that in third grade I could at least finish the year before I moved in with her.
put the bully and got so bad and my teacher was Writing me up every day for clear signs of my ADHD which he claimed understand. To the point one time I was reading to my self as we where told to but one of the kids in the school who bullied me and was Novis âperfectâ student. Smart good body pretty feminine rich and caucasian. Told the teacher I was humming and I needed to stop I explained I was reading to my self and sometimes I read Quietly out loud. I wasnât a good reader and my adhd made learning really difficult And even more so because the school refused to help me or give me basically any Accommodations or treat me with respect or like a human being.
The teacher then yelled at me that I was lying tell me if I did it again he would write me up and told me I needed to focus and to do my project. My other teachers were well aware I did this in so was he. The girl went up to him again he came back red as a tomato and belittled me over and over and sent me to the hall and then got mad at me when my project wasnât done and wrote me up and called home this was a daily occurrence. This teacher also would refuse to even let me leave the class unless I wrote down info in my daily planner which other kids didnât have to do if they didnât want to I had almost missed the bus several times and he knew very well if I missed the bus I would have zero way of getting home. My parents and grandparents even told him this. But he would scream at me at some point in third grade I had to teach myself how to write without looking at my own paper so I could write what was on the board without having to look up and down because One I was scared of missing the bus and two i twas scared of him and the repercussions he would give me for leaving and not finishing my planer and what he would do to me. Which resulted in me having horrible handwriting which this teacher also yelled at me for though he already knew my handwriting was bad because my hands did and still do constantly shake because with my ADHD I am constantly moving I have to be. He even yelled at me because I didnât start my upper case cursive Dâs in the spot he wanted me to. My pencil would never leave the paper I would just start in a different place than he would. He would yell and belittle me every single day he even made fun of me at times. He was a horrible person and let kids take everything they want it out on me. And the school did nothing again no matter what we did matter what we said no matter who we got involved they would do something for a month sometimes only a week if we got or threaten to get the police involved and then everything would go back to normal. I was so upset doubly leaving the school soon but only because I only had a few friends and those friends were the only people I felt cared about me and I didnât want them to feel i was leaving them behind like the school and itâs system and the communityâs System did to me and many others. Even now the community in general a lot of its people are horrible to their not only the children but each other if you donât fit the standard you donât deserve to be there in their opinions. And I know Iâm not the only one whoâs had an experience like this. But itâs not just because kids are mean itâs the adults in the area too. People need to stop over looking things like this and do something about it start calling Novi this great number school district. Because half of the reason they have such a great school district such good grades is because of how mean and horrid they are to kids about how scared they are to fail. Because no one not even adults will care about them or try to help them if they fail.
Thereâs so much more most of this is just based off of my experiences because I donât wanna share other peoples experiences and I donât want to claim to understand how that mustâve made them feel when it wasnât something that happened to me. Iâll leave two quotes though by someone else and one by my mother who was reacting to the quote/comment by the other person
