Unbelievable Outside Treatment of Your Home Stops Bugs Before They Get In.

  • The vast majority of bugs enter your home through cracks and crevices around your home. If you treat these areas with a pesticide, the bugs will no longer be able to enter. Therefore, you will not need to treat the inside of your home, unless bugs fly in or you carry them in.

    I love this channel. You have no idea how much you've reduced the stress in my life. Arizona is just full of bugs this time of year, including some of which can be deadly to pets, such as scorpions and black widow spiders. Thank you for all the great videos!

      If you have scorpions, then I recommend using Onslaught FastCap instead of Bifen IT. Same treatment, but a more powerful product. Scorpions are hard to kill, as you may have noticed. It's a bit more expensive, but worth it if you have scorpions. You should apply it on all ornamental plants around the building as well, being sure to treat the dirt under the plants. I recommend applying it every 60 days. Look for obvious penetrations in the side of the house and treat them with D-Fense dust. Just buy a duster, fill it halfway with the dust, and puff the dust into any cracks or crevices that you find. After treating, it is a good idea to caulk these penetrations as well.
      Always make sure that you hang up all your clothes. You should never leave clothes laying on the floor. Clothes that are waiting to be washed should be kept in a sealed hamper. Shoes should be kept off the floor on some sort of a shoe rack. After you finish the exterior treatment, you should check the house for scorpions. Look under appliances, in closets, under the bed, and that sort of thing. Be sure to check shoes, curtains, or anyplace these guys may be hiding. To assist in your search, you can use a black light. All scorpions will glow green when exposed to a black light.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Guy, it is so refreshing to see a former professional share their knowledge on youtube instead of all the youtube pest wannabes. I just subscribed!. I have a question too. I have seen your videos where you vary reccomendations on different videos outside pest control from Talstar, to Bifen, to Taurus sc. I have a pressure treated deck on the back of my house that has 6ft cedar privacy walls and gates. I have seen what I believe is carpenter bees boring holes into my cedar fence and flying everywhere and they are as big as bumblebees. I also have a lot of wasp nests coming in now the weather is changing here in Indiana going into summer. I bought a 3 gallon rechargeable backpack sprayer and Termidor sc concentrate. Which would be the absolute best for my situation. The Talstar, Bifen, or Termindor? I want to do my whole exterior house and deck. Thanks Guy

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thank you so much for those kind words. Very much appreciated. I can certainly understand the confusion when you see me recommend different products in different videos. Let me clear that up for you. There is no difference whatsoever between Talstar P and Bifen IT, other than the price and the fact that Biden IT has a slight odor to it until it dries, while Talstar P is odorless. I used Telstar P for a really long time, but I decided to try Bifen IT because it was somewhat less expensive. At first, I didn't like the odor, but I quickly realized that it was a good thing. If you can smell the pesticide when you are wearing a respirator, then the respirator is not working. So, the odor is actually a bit of a safety feature. Of course, I do not want to use a product with an odor inside the home, so if I must treat indoors then I will use Talstar P. When I made my first video on how to treat the exterior of your home, I had not tried Bifen IT yet because we tend to stick with what we know. I never recommend a product that I have not tried myself. After I tried it, I realized that both products did the same job, but there was a cost savings and a safety advantage to using Bifen IT outside.
      Taurus SC is still a very good product and I still recommend it. The reason that I kind of moved away from it in my current videos is simply because the Bifen products are less expensive. It is still perfectly fine if you wish to treat the exterior of your house using Taurus SC. In fact, the product will last longer than using Bifen. I think if you are using Taurus SC, you can get away with treating every 90 days, but you always have to keep in mind that you are not supposed to treat that often with this product. That is why I tell you, to keep it legal, you need to use a different product after 90 days to kind of fill in that next 90-day period. Of course, you could always just use the Taurus SC every 90 days and not worry about it. The truth is that it won't hurt anything. Doing it this way works really well, but I have subsequently decided that a much faster and easier way to do it is to simply use Bifen IT around windows and doors, if you wish to be neat about it, and to use Bifen XTS in a hose and sprayer to easily catch those places that a tank sprayer would have a hard time reaching. I finally reached an age now where I no longer even bother with the tank sprayer and ladders, and I just used the hose end sprayer to do the entire job. I also like to treat my yard with it, so it is very handy just to do the yard and the exterior of the house with the same hose end sprayer. So, the bottom line is you can do it anyway you like in my videos. It's just a matter of personal preference. All these methods do the same job. I also like using the hose and sprayer because it is probably three times as fast as using a tank sprayer. Regardless of what method you choose to do the exterior treatment on your house, this will end the problem with wasps. Simply spray the areas where you do not want wasps. It is really that simple. Wasps cannot build a nest on a treated area.
      Now, let's talk about the carpenter bees. I do not have a video on how to treat carpenter bees, but I can explain how to do it. The first thing you should know is that the carpenter bees are not doing most of the damage. It's true. The carpenter bees are boring holes into the wood, but that is only causing a little of the damage. You see, after the bees get into the wood, they lay eggs in there that turn into larvae. Those larvae eat wood to survive, much like termites do, and that is what is causing most of the damage. When the larvae mature, they bore back out of the wood, leaving behind hollowed out wood, with large exit holes. Therefore, you cannot end the problem by treating the bees. You need to treat the larvae. To do this you need to buy a fipronil foam and shoot it into all the holes, until it is coming back out at you, or the other holes. The foam will expand to several times its original size and get into all those tunnels that were created in the wood by the larvae, thereby killing them. Now that you have treated the larvae, you can go ahead and seal up the holes with wood filler, caulk, Bondo, or whatever works best in your case. After you have the damage repaired, you need to make sure that you do not get anymore carpenter bees. There are a couple of ways of doing this, and which method you choose will depend upon the kind of wood you are dealing with.
      If you have wood that has NOT been treated with anything, like a sealer, stain, or paint, then you can use Bora-Care. This is a permanent treatment, but you do need to finish the wood with something, like a sealer or stain, about 48 hours after the product is applied. I will give you a link to the product and a link to a video on how to use it. Always mix it one to one with water. The label says that you can mix it one to five, but don't believe it.
      If the wood has already been treated with a sealer, stain, or paint, then you need to apply a pesticide to all the wooden surfaces every 60 to 90 days, depending upon the pesticides being used. Like I said before, I just use the hose end sprayer to treat all of these areas because it is way faster than using a tank sprayer and I can reach areas that are high up. Of course, this means you need to treat every 60 days, but it is super-fast to do.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      @@GuysPestSolutions Guy, thank you so much for taking your time to write such a detailed, professional answer. I really appreciate your kindness and professionalism . I read everything you wrote twice already and even took some notes. I have decided to just go with the Termidor sc since I bought it already and I'm going with the full strength .8oz per gallon in my electric sprayer since I have multiple pests currently going on with my deck (carpenter bees and wasps) and will have to rely on it for knockdown as well. I will follow up in later summer with either the Talstar or Bifen per your recommendation . I will also buy the Termidor foam in the can with the foot long stretch hose it comes with to get to some hard to get at holes I see these carpenter bee devils have drilled and spray farther directly into the hole with the can with what the electric sprayer cannot get initially. I think what you mentioned about making a carpenter bee video is a excellent idea and is sorely needed. I would love to see a in depth one too. I have lived in the midwest all my life and never had a problem or even saw carpenter bees here in Northern Indiana until just recently the last couple years, And of course they are going straight for my cedar fence as I mentioned which has been standing hole free for the last 16 years and new coat of deck stain every 3 years. Now this is the 3rd summer I have had them come back as I had a exterminator come out last summer and sprayed my deck. I called him for a retreatment as he said within 90 days if I saw them come back it would be free after the iniatial treatment and I paid him $250. Well they did come back a month after he left, and I left him multiple messages, and he never returned my call once because he probably knew what I was calling for. Frustrated, I decided this year I would do my own extermination and do it properly and well. I look forward to a carpenter bee video from you as they have become a nuisance here in the midwest. Guy take good care and be well.

    You are the clearest pest guy online.❣.. I thank you so much. 2:29. What is the reach range is we have a large stone house... from 1907.. and surrounded by woods. What reach range is needed`? or PSI needed? . if we are looking at 3 + acres...... and the pet control guy is not working. Then we get ticks on the lawn too, wooded roaches and ticks. Sigh...

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Seriously? You have a house that was built in 1907? Wow. How cool is that? On top of that, you live in the woods. I think you need to adopt me. Lol. It sounds great.
      If you have a stone house that was built in 1907, then there is a good chance that there are lots of openings where bugs can get in. So, if it were me, I would treat the outside of the house with a hose end sprayer. I show you how to do that about 5 minutes into the video. In the video I tell you that this is for high up areas and for treating the yard, but I also use a hose end sprayer to treat all of the areas on the outside of my home, including around doors and windows. Doing it this way is WAY faster than using a tank sprayer. The only thing is that you will get a lot of pesticide on the windows and it will cause them to look hazy. So, you may want to treat around windows with a tank sprayer if you don't like dirty windows. Since you have stone on the side of the house, look for weep holes and other cracks and crevices where bugs can get in and treat those areas as well. The hose end sprayer will reach heights of up to 25 feet, depending upon water pressure and this is the only tool you should use to treat your yard for most bugs. There are exceptions though. Wood roaches and ticks should not be a problem, but things like fleas and no-see-ums can be a challenge. So, if you are seeing anything like that, then let me know. Going after those sorts of pests is somewhat more time consuming and costly. That is why pest controllers don't usually do it correctly. You would never pay what it would cost. Since you have 3 acres, it would be insane to try and treat all of it, so I would just create a 40 to 50 foot kill zone around the house. That is to say, treat from the house out about 40 to 50 feet on all sides. You can do less if you like, but the further you go, the more likely it is that you will be pest free. This goes pretty fast with a hose end sprayer. If you do this treatment every 60 days, you will be pretty much pest free. You do not need to treat in freezing weather.
      I hope that helps. Be well Kyra.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před měsícem

      You are probably thinking that this is carpenter ants, and that is possible, but it may also be something like oak bark beetles or drywood termites. If you spray the tree and your yard with Bifen XTS, that should eliminate carpenter ants. So, if the problem does not go away after treatment, then that would make me suspect a different species. Ants need to forage for food, so they will cross the pesticide, but things like beetles and termites actually eat the wood, so treating externally may not get it done. You may want to get that tree inspected by an arborist. Those folks should know immediately what you are looking at. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      Nice to hear from you. I don't have a video on fleas, but I can give you a procedure for them. You said there are no pets, but let me cover them anyway. It's pretty much the same treatment with or without pets, so you may as well have all the information.
      To rid your home of fleas, the first thing you need to do is to vacuum all the upholstered furniture and pet bedding, paying particular attention to places where fleas can hide, like behind cushions. Next, vacuum the floor throughout the house. If you have a vacuum with a disposable bag, then discard the bag outside in the trash. If you have a vacuum with a reusable canister, empty it outside in the trash and then wash it out with the garden hose before bringing it back in the house. Wash all bed linens and pet bedding in your washing machine and dry on high heat. Next, spray a pesticide that is labeled for fleas, on all the floors and on areas of upholstered furniture that does not come in contact with people or pets. To treat floors, hold the can at arm’s length and make sweeping motions across the floor to cover all surfaces. For upholstered furniture, you should spray under the cushions and then any folds that there are. The product that I like best is called PT Ultracide. I will give you a link for it. Fleas can be hard to kill, so you may need to do this treatment every two weeks until the problem is solved. If you have pets, then you should treat them as recommended by your vet. The reason fleas got into the house in the first place is because they are outside. If you have a flea problem outside, then there is a good chance you will end up with a flea problem inside. Even if you don't have pets, the fleas will still jump on you when you are outside, and so you can carry them in. Therefore, you need to treat the outside as well. I do this with a hose end sprayer. I will give you a link to my video on how to do that. I find that treating the yard every 60 days seems to do the trick.

      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    What about safery for my pets that go outside?
    2. Time of day or season to spray or not to spray?
    3. What to use indoors if needed?
    All my best from Salt Lake City.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The products are safe for pets after they dry. Just keep them inside while you were applying the product. Most of the time, everything dries pretty well within 2 hours, depending upon how hot it is outside. After the product dries, it's safe for children to play on.
      How often you apply the product is going to depend on the climate. If you live in a warm, where there are a lot of bugs, then you may want to apply the product every 60 days. If you live in a much colder climate, then you can get away with every 90 days in most cases. You do not need to apply the product in freezing temperatures. So, if you have freezing temperatures, then you probably do not need to apply anything over the winter months. If it's warm all year, then every 60 days, all year long, would be your best bet. I am not certain what your climate conditions are in Salt Lake City, so just kind of follow these basic guidelines.
      If you treat the outside of your home routinely, then there is usually no need to treat the inside. However, if you have pest inside, then how you treat them is going to depend on the species involved. Just let me know if you have a pest problem inside and what the particular pest is, and I will do my best to help you out with it.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem

      If you are just looking to kill most pests, and prevent them from entering the house, then just treating the piers is good enough. However, you need to understand that you happen to live in the termite capital of the world. Hawaii not only offers living in paradise, but it also hosts both Formosan and drywood termites. Formosan termites can destroy an entire house in a matter of a couple of months. Drywood termites literally fly to your house and create multiple galleries. The only way to treat drywood termites is to fumigate the entire house. So, both of these species are cause for concern where you live. Therefore, it would make a lot of sense in your case to treat under your house with a product called Bora-Care. I will give you a link to a video on how to use it, but I'm not sure how you would order it in Hawaii. Again, not only does your state offer paradise living, but your state government never found a regulation that they didn't like to create. One of those regulations concerns pesticides and it is not allowed to be sold in Hawaii to anyone that does not have an applicator's license. Therefore, it may be difficult to find anyone that will ship the products to you. I will give you a link to a company that may ship it to you. If you cannot obtain Bora-Care, then I would definitely do the entire treatment that is shown in this video, and I would treat under the house as well. That is because drywood termites will enter through any crack or crevice that they can find. After they get into your house, they will end up traveling through holes that are in the studs that were created by the electricians to run the wiring. After a few years, you're entire house will be infested with the things. So you need to treat every place where they can possibly get in. You would also be wise to treat around all the piers with termite granules every year. Again, I'm not sure if you can obtain them, but they will protect you against for most in termites. Sometimes you get lucky and Amazon will ship them to you.

    Hi, Guy! I purchased the Chapin hose end sprayer to apply some Bifen XTS. At the highest point my eaves sit at 23 feet and, unfortunately, the hose end sprayer was unable to reach even while standing on a ladder. I could position myself right under the eaves and possibly reach that area but there's a significant amount of splash from using the hose end sprayer and didn't want to end up drenched in Bifen. If I'm going to do this on a regular basis I don't mind investing in something like a backpack sprayer with, possibly, an extended wand? For example, I've seen that Solo makes a wand that extends from 4 - 7.5 feet. Do you have any recommendations for backpack sprayers, wands, etc., or another solution for reaching high spots? Thanks and much appreciated.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před měsícem

      Gosh. The hose end sprayer should reach at least 25 feet. You would need to have some really low water pressure not to be able to reach 23 feet. Do you have the sprayer in the stream setting? If so, check to make sure that the water is coming out of the spigot at full force and make sure that there are no kinks or restrictions in the garden hose. There could also be a defect in the sprayer. If you like, you can email a photo of the house to me and maybe even a short video of the sprayer in operation. I would love to see exactly what is going on. You can send photos and a video to guyspestsolutions@gmail.com.
      If you decide to go with the Solo extension wand, then you may also want to go with a Solo sprayer. They make a backpack sprayer that puts out as much as 90 PSI. That's about as good as it gets with tank sprayers. It is also reasonably priced, and I think Amazon has it now on sale for about $100. I will give you a link to it. Please note that I have not used this sprayer myself. I looked it up on Amazon and it would be the one I would go with, just based on the specs.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I used to recommend Taurus SC for the first outside treatment of a home and for trenching for subterranean termites. I now believe that using Taurus SC for the first outside treatment may be something of overkill. It certainly cannot hurt, but I think you would be okay just to begin with Bifen IT or Bifen XTS, and just keep using it to treat the exterior of you home. You still do need to use Taurus SC when trenching for termites. Bifen would not be appropriate for that. The Bifen products are less expensive too and I like that I can use a hose end sprayer with Bifen XTS. It makes the job go way faster than using a tank sprayer. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    What do you think of Taurus SC? I heard its very powerful and longer residual...id like to spray less often if i can because it can be very tedious if you do it right and take your time...
    My biggest problems is american cockroaches and wasps....i have riding mowers outside that i neglected and shouldve kept in garage and now i need to fix them and i dont wanna get stung...they are nesting in the wheels and under the hood

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před měsícem

      Taurus SC has a longer residual than Bifen IT or Bifen XTS. You can get at least 3 months out of it, instead of 60 days. However, the label only allows you to use it every 6 months. So, you would be violating the law applying it every 3 months, but I don't think the pest control police will take you away if you do that. Taurus SC is for tank sprayers only and cannot be used in a hose end sprayer.
      Wasps are very slow and clumsy flyers. They can't sting you on the fly like yellow jackets. They need to almost land on you to sting you. They look scary and have a painful sting, but the truth is that they attack from behind most of the time. If you are looking at them, then you won't get stung because you can easily outrun them. So, just use a can of wasp freeze or a can of Raid Ant and Roach Killer to hit the flying wasps. Raid will take them out almost instantly. It doesn't have the range of wasp freeze, but you don't need it with wasps. Also, Raid has a good residual. If you spray it on the nests, the wasps that come out or go in are going to die from the exposure. So, that's all I ever use when doing battle with paper wasps. It's kind of fun. Just watch your back. If you feel a little tickle on your neck, then run. That would be the fluttering of their wings that you feel just prior to the sting. Just open the hood and shoot the ones that fly out and shoot it on the nest. Do the same for anyplace you see nests. They are even worse flyers at night, so dusk is a good time to get them. They always return to the nest before dark. Again, just watch your back. They like to sneak up behind you. You can have someone spot you and let you know if one is behind you. I have done this many times, and I just do it during the day by myself. I respect them, but I'm not afraid of them because I understand how they operate. It is fun though to stand there just before dusk and shoot them with Raid Ant and Roach Killer as they are returning to the nest. I know. I'm easily amused. Lol.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      There is no doubt that bug zappers will attract and kill bugs that are attracted to UV light. Termite swarmers are certainly attracted to UV light, but I don't see the value in attracting them to your house just to kill them. The bug zapper will also kill a lot of moths as well. It's great for killing flies as well. It's fun to watch them all get zapped, but not very helpful overall. A pesticide treatment will be more effective. Sadly, most people use bug zappers to control mosquitoes, but the problem is that mosquitoes are not attracted to UV light. So, the zappers don't work for the primary pest that people want to kill. You are way better off treating your house and yard with a pesticide. That will take care of most of the flying bugs and the ones that crawl on the ground as well. Still fun to watch the zapper though.

      You found the right video. This is actually an outside problem. The bugs are not somehow just appearing from nowhere. They are coming in from the outside, so treat the outside. After you treat the outside, then just take a can of Raid Flying Insect Killer and spray the vents and exhaust fans. Be sure to turn off the electricity before treating the fans. This should take them out pretty easily. You need to do the outside treatment every 60 days to maintain control. You may also have some of these guys in the attic, so set off a couple of bug bombs there. Again, turn off the electric to any fans or the HVAC unit. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 11 měsíci

      That is a very good question. Products like Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer will also get the job done, if you use enough of it, but it's a lot more expensive to use than Bifen IT or Bifen XTS. If you look at the active ingredient concentration in the Ortho, it's about 0.3% by bifenthrin, but the Bifen IT is 7.9% bifenthrin. If I did my math correctly, that means that Bifen IT is about 26 times more concentrated than Ortho. Therefore, to achieve the same effect as mixing 1 oz of Bifen IT with water, you would need to mix about 26 oz of Ortho with water. Of course, the label on the ortho product is going to tell you to mix it at something like 1.5 oz per gallon, but that would only give you a fraction of the killing power that Bifen IT will give you. A quart of ortho costs about $14 on Amazon, so that would be about $56 for a gallon. If you multiply that times 26 to equal the same concentration as Bifen IT, then that would be about $1,456 a gallon, as opposed to about $60 a gallon to just buy the Bifen IT. Therefore, using the Ortho is not cost effective at all. If you just follow the label directions on the Ortho, then you are just spitting on a forest fire. These products are formulated very weak, so that people who use them incorrectly cannot get into too much trouble with them. However, if you mix them according to label directions, they won't work very well.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Hi Guy. I used the tips from your German cockroach video and haven't seen any since! Thank you so much. I live in Florida, and we're coming up on hurricane season in 2 months. Does rain make this treatment less effective, and will I need to respray more often than 60 days?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I live in Florida too. These products do not wash away, so they will last 60 days, and maybe a little longer. They are supposed to last 90 days, but I find that I will be getting ants in the house if I wait that long. I start to see ant activity in the yard around the house at about the 60 day mark. That lets me know that the pesticide has lost its effectiveness. This happens on the ground faster than on the building, so when you start to see activity on the ground, you know it won't be long before the treatment on the house will follow. It's a constant battle in southern states like Florida. Luckily, that hose end sprayer makes it go super fast and easy. I treat the entire exterior of the house with the hose end sprayer. That is to say, I do the eaves, windows, doors, and so forth with it. I never touch the tank sprayer. It gets on the glass a lot and makes the windows look dirty, but I'm okay with that. To avoid that, you do need to use a tank sprayer around the windows. I'm just really busy, so I do take the shortcut. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      @GuysPestSolutions Thanks again for your help on this! Funny enough, I never even got to do the Bifen IT treatment because a week later, I had a termite swarmer infestation in my bedroom window sill. Between the heat, humidity, and summer bug activity here in Miami, I have been fighting for my peace. But this is my 1st time in a ground floor apartment, so I'm new to these struggles.
      Someone came to do the local treatment indoors with the foam, and he also ended up spraying Termidor SC around the outside perimeter of the house.
      Usually, I use Terro granules and bait stations in the perimeter lawn area that I reapply every 2 or 3 months, then a liquid insecticide on the actual walls, door frame, window frame, etc.
      With him spraying the Termidor, would it be okay to do my maintenance applications over it? Will Bifen IT reduce the effect of Termidor SC and vice versa? I want to kill then repel.
      I appreciate it!

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 2 měsíci

      @@kashe.4694 Let me start by telling you that, in all likelihood, there is a termite infestation in the house. The only question is, what species is it? If you live in Miami, then there's a high probability that these are drywood termites. The pest controller did a spot treatment that is not even going to come close to resolving the problem. Since you do not own the home, this is not actually your problem, except for the fact that these guys are going to eventually cause structural damage, which could render the building unsafe at some point. The good news is that drywood termites are very slow eaters and it takes a long time for them to do any significant damage. Of course, if you are seeing swarmers, then they have been in the building quite some time. So, there's no way of knowing how much damage has been done already. I can assure you though, if these are drywood termites, then there are galleries throughout the entire structure, most likely including the roof. The only way to get rid of these things is to fumigate the entire building. My guess is that the landlord is probably not going to do this because it is expensive. If that is the case, then the building essentially has a kind of slow growing cancer that will eventually cause a structural failure.
      You are pretty much wasting your money if you buy Terro granules and those Spectracide Termite Stakes, if that is what you were using. You will probably kill a lot of ants with those things, but they are pretty much useless against subterranean termites, and they will not work at all for drywood termites. So, I recommend that you keep your money in your wallet and spend it on products that are going to be much more effective.
      I do not know what kind of treatment the pest controller did with the Termidor SC. Some pest controllers do a pretty good job, while others leave a lot to be desired. If he did it correctly, then he treated the fascia boards, soffits, around all windows and doors, up the side of the building three to four feet, and on the ground three to four feet out. Very few pest controllers will treat above their heads, so it is unlikely that the job was not done correctly. Also, most pest controllers do not use enough pesticide where the ground meets the house and they do not use enough pesticide on the ground itself. So again, highly unlikely that the job was done correctly. Treating over the top of Taurus SC will not cause any harm whatsoever. Both products are non-repellent, so the bugs will cross them both without giving it a second thought. I know you probably want to repel the bugs, but in today's pest control world, repelling bugs is kind of outdated thinking. We actually want them to cross the pesticide and take it back to the nest or colony. This way, instead of just taking out a few bugs and keeping out the rest, we actually take out the entire colony or nest. No colony or nest means no bugs in your house. These products usually kill within hours, so you will never notice that they are non-repellent. I know that homeowners and do it yourselfers love seeing the bugs die on the spot, but pest controllers know better. The stores know that their customers like to see this fast kill, and that is why they sell those products, but they are pretty much a waste of money in most cases. There are times when you do want a fast kill, but for exterior treatments, we normally go with the slow-kill method. It's the same for treating ants, roaches, and some other pest indoors as well. That being said, if I am busy being attacked by angry hornets, then fast kill kind of works for me. LOL.
      By the way, I will be out of town for a couple of weeks, so I may not be able to get back to you until I return. I will answer any other questions you have when I get home.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 3 měsíci

      I would recommend a couple of things. Most species of ants do not colonize in cars. So, there is a good chance that the colony is located where you park the car. So, treat under the car and all surfaces of the tires with Talstar P, mixed 1 ounce per gallon of water. You can apply it with a pump-up garden sprayer. Soak the area under the car really well if it's on dirt, grass, gravel, etc. A lighter coat on concrete is okay. This will kill any ants that are traveling to and from the vehicle. Next, you can treat the engine compartment with a water-based pesticide. Talstar P should work well for this too. It is odorless and will leave a nonrepellent barrier on all surfaces where it is applied. You can apply it with a handheld spray bottle. When you mix up that garden sprayer, just pour some in a handheld spray bottle. I recommend buying a 3/4-gallon bottle. You can get a 16-ounce bottle for about $39, which is all you need, but you can get the 3/4-gallon bottle for just $11 more. This product should be applied under your car every 60 days to maintain control, so it's worth the extra $11 to get 6 times the amount to product. I will give you the link. If you want to go a more natural way in the car, you can spray the engine compartment with diatomaceous earth (DE). Mix it one part DE to 4 parts of water. The DE may or may not work and it will be way slower than the Talstar P. The advantage of DE is that it lasts forever or until you remove it. You should still treat under the car and the tires with Talstar P.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      Talstar P is the same as Bifen IT, but the Bifen IT is less expensive. It does have a slight odor to it before it dries, but that is a good thing. You should always wear a respirator. If you can still smell it, then the respirator is not working. You can't tell with Talstar P because there is no odor. Other than the odor and price, they are no different. You can't use either in a hose end sprayer. For that you must use the Bifen XTS. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

Then you will get a good idea about how often you will need to treat to keep these guys away. It is always possible that one treatment will do the job, but I would find that somewhat surprising. Most likely you knocked down the population significantly, but you may not have gotten all of them. I mean they are quite small, and the larvae are even smaller. How about taurus sc does it work for drywood termites

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 7 měsíci

      It is important to understand how drywood termites work. They enter through cracks and crevices around windows, doors, the eaves, pipe penetrations, and so forth. Most of the time, they enter through several locations. That is because a swarm of them attacked your house at the same time. If there was a crack or a crevice, then they probably found it. After they established their galleries, which will be inside the wood, it will take four to seven years for them to be able to swarm. Now that they are in your house, the swarmers will use holes that are in your studs to travel through the walls. Those holes in the studs were created by the electricians to run the electrical wiring. Not only are these holes going through the studs, but holes were drilled into the attic for the light switches and to run some of the wiring for the outlets. So, the termites now have easy access throughout the attic and the walls. If you have a basement or crawl space, they have access to that as well. Most of the time, you will have no idea that they are in the walls, because the frass is inside the wall. To make matters worse, if you have drywood termites, then your neighbors have them too. That means you have been getting swarmed for as long as they have existed in the neighborhood. Most likely, we're talking about years, so it's a safe bet that you have these guys in many locations in your home.
      I always hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you have drywood termites, the only sure way to get rid of them is to fumigate. Prices for this can vary wildly in this industry, so I recommend that you watch my video on how to hire a pest controller without getting ripped off. That video can save you a lot of money. You should also know that the gas they use to fumigate has absolutely no residual action whatsoever, so you can get reinfested the moment the tent comes down. Like I said before, if you have drywood termites, then your neighbors have them as well. Since drywood termites swarm every year, it is almost a certainty that you will be reinfested within a year after the fumigation is done. The only way to prevent this is to do a preventive treatment on your house every 60 days. Most pest controllers will not do this, so it is something that you generally need to do yourself. Just use the procedure in the video you already watched on how to kill bugs before they get into the house. If you absolutely cannot afford to fumigate your house, then you can try spot treating it yourself. It is virtually impossible to find all the termite galleries, but it is way better than doing nothing. Taurus SC is not a good choice for spot treating because it will not do a good job getting into the galleries. You need to us Termidor Foam. I have a video on how to spot treat and I will give you a link to it. Regardless of how you treat it, you should begin the preventive treatment immediately, so that you do not get additional termites paying you a visit.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      Great question. The Taurus SC and the Talstar P are fine to use, but I decided that is was just too confusing the way I did the original video. That was the first video I ever did and I didn't do a good job explaining some of this stuff. So, I decided to simplify it. The Bifen IT will do the same job as the other products, but it's cheaper. There is certainly nothing wrong with using the other products, but this is just easier and cheaper to go with the Bifen IT, and it is just as effective. The video is way shorter too. I don't think it will take that much. You just need to lightly spray the building. You do want to apply it a bit heavier on the ground, and of course you want to soak the area well where the building meets the ground. I can treat my entire house with about six gallons of finished product. How much you use will depend upon the size of your house and how heavy you put it down on the ground. Hope that helped. The only thing is that you need to be more thorough than they suggested in the video. I recommend doing this treatment in all the rooms and not just the bedrooms. Bed bugs can be in your living room as well, and even your dining room. So, you should be treating all the upholstered furniture. You should also vacuum and treat all the floors, and you should treat all the base boards as well. The key to getting rid of bedbugs is to be thorough and treat absolutely everything.

      That is probably standard operating procedure if you work for a national company. The mom and pop companies will usually show you everything, but the national companies may just want you to do termites, exterior treatments, or something like that. No sense training you to treat a pest that you won't be treating. Also, I am getting a lot of complaints about one specific national company. I don't want to mention which one, but they advertise all the time. I don't know what is going on with them, but they seem to be having trouble satisfying customers. It could be improper training or maybe they are not getting good people. I don't know. They seem to misidentify pests too. I had one person tell me they identified a roach infestation as being German, when they were actually Oriental. In what world is that even possible? Those species get treated way differently. How can you do the right treatment if you don't even correctly identify the species? All pest companies get complaints, but this one company seems to the one people come to me about way more than the others. Anyway, you can always come to me for advice. You can treat your house with Taurus SC, but I have never used it in a hose end sprayer. The problem you may have with it is that Taurus SC may be too thick to get picked up by the siphon tube in the sprayer. So, you would need to dilute the concentrate in the sprayer and see what happens. I think if you dilute it 1 part Taurus SC to 5 parts of water and set the sprayer to 5 oz per gallon, that would be about right. So, put 5 oz of Taurus in the sprayer and add 25 oz of water and set the sprayer to 5 oz per gallon. That will give you 30 oz in the sprayer. Even after diluting the Taurus SC, it still may not get picked up by the siphon tube, so watch to see if the liquid in the holding container is draining down while you are using it. The geckos and skinks will not be bothered by the pesticide. However, you will be killing some of their food supply on the ground. If you treat 3 feet out from the house, that area will be mostly bug free. So, the lizards will hunt for food outside that kill zone. If you treat your entire yard, like I do, then the lizards will move on to greener pastures. You basically broke the food chain. Other living things will also leave, like snakes. Now, not all of them will depart. You will still see some lizards and snakes around, but not as many. Treating just the house won't make much difference. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      I am so sorry that you're having this problem. I hope that you are coming to me because you would like an honest answer. It is important to understand that I have been doing this a very long time and I have nothing to gain by spreading misinformation. I do not get paid for answering questions. The thing is though that not everybody wants to hear the truth. So, please do not shoot the messenger.
      The first thing you should know is that the baiting system they sold you does not work well. If you read the contract, you will probably find language in there that will explain that this process can take up to two years to be effective, and they are not responsible if it does not work at all. The reason for that is because the material that they use in the stations does not actually kill termites. It just stops them from reproducing. Since termite workers can live up to two years, you can understand why it takes that long to be effective sometimes. Sometimes, the termites never even find the stations. If you have an active infestation of subterranean termites, then the proper treatment would have been to trench the house. I have a video on this that will explain it all to you. I will give you a link to it, if you would like to watch it. If you did not have an active infestation, then you didn't need to do anything. You just got sold something you didn't need. If you wish to prevent subterranean termites, I can show you how to do it for about $50 a year.
      With regard to the dry wood termites, fumigation is supposed to be a sure thing, but I am now getting complaints from people that it didn't work for them. It sounds like this is the case with you as well. I do not know where this is going wrong, but it could be that they are using the wrong gas, or they are not allowing enough time for the gas to work. I also hear that the companies that do this work do not come back to retreat, even though it may be in the contract. The bottom line with fumigation is that it kills everything in the house, so you should not have any swarmers after it is finished. I would not be at all surprised if this company fails to retreat for you. My recommendation would be to make a good faith effort to try and get the company to behave. It would be wise to remain calm with them on the phone and record your conversations if at all possible. If you cannot record the conversations, then take good notes after the conversations, that include the time and the date when you spoke with them and the name of the person you spoke with. If you cannot reach them on the phone, then send them a nicely worded letter, requesting that they retreat your house, using fumigation. I would not threaten them in any way. Just stay calm, and try a carrot instead of a stick. If they do not respond to phone calls or letters within a month, then you would be wise to seek the advice of an attorney.
      Again, I am so sorry that this happened to you. If you don't mind, I would love to know the name of the company. If this is a national company, then I suspect I already know which one. In any case, I would like to be able to advise people to steer clear of whatever company this is.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem

      Of course, I would be happy to help you with that. I have a video in production right now about how to do it and it should be posted by the end of the week. For now, I can just explain it to you. The first thing you need to know about ants is that most of the time they live outside. There are a couple of species that will take up residence in your home, but for the most part, they are coming in from the outside. For that reason, you sometimes need to go after them where they live. We always try to treat them from the inside first with a bait, because it is cheaper and easier to do, but sometimes that does not work, and you need to go nuclear on them. So, I'm going to give you the nuclear option. Unfortunately, this is not cheap to do, but it is almost 100% effective. I have literally never seen it fail.

      This is basically a two step process. The first step is to treat the outside. Please watch my video on how to treat your yard with a hose end sprayer. You should treat your entire yard, but if you have a really huge yard, then you can simply treat a 30-foot perimeter around the entire house. After you have finished treating the outside, then what you need to do is lightly spray all the ant trails and places where you suspect they are coming in, with Temprid FX. Just mix it 16 milliliters to a gallon of water, in a one gallon pump up garden sprayer. It doesn't take that much to do the job, so you may want to just make a half gallon. Do not over pressurize the sprayer, because you just want a fine mist coming out of it. Each sprayer is different, but generally you only need to pump it two or three times. You can apply the Temprid FX any place you are seeing the ants, except where you are preparing food or eating it. Do not apply it any place where you are not seeing the ants. You only need to do the inside treatment one time, as long as you keep up with the outside treatment, which needs to be done every 60 days. I will give you a link to the Temprid FX. All the equipment and the product that you need to do the exterior treatment is listed in the description of the video.

      If all of this is a little too much for you, then you can try modifying it. You can sometimes get results by simply using the Temprid FX inside. Doing it this way will take a bit longer though, because the ants will keep coming in until the colony is killed off. It is also possible that this treatment alone will not get it done, which is why I also kill the ants outside. If the inside treatment alone does not work, but you do not want to treat your entire yard, then you can treat just the perimeter of your house with the hose end sprayer. Just treat up the side of the building about 36 inches, and out from the building about 48 inches. Soak the area really well where the foundation meets the ground. This will kill the ants outside while they are trying to make their way into the house. There is a fairly high probability that combining one interior treatment and the perimeter treatment every 60 to 90 days will solve the problem. Keep in mind though that you still have a gazillion ants that are colonizing in the yard. So, if all else fails, then you need to go ahead and treat the yard. I can tell you, that is what I do. I live in Florida too, and we have a lot of ants here. So, in my case, I need to go all out nuclear on them and treat the yard.

      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem

      @@ktktektk6963 That is a very good question. The Taurus SC is actually a termiticide. The reason I sometimes use it on the exterior of a house is because it has a really long residual action. It can easily last three months or more. The reason I am shying away from it at the moment is because people tend to use it incorrectly. This is not a product that you want to use on your lawn or your yard. The Bifen IT or the Bifen XTS will do the exact same job, but it needs to be applied a bit more often. While these products are supposed to last 90 days, I find that they are best applied every 60 days. That is a lot less than the Taurus SC, but these products are more forgiving with the environment. The Taurus SC is fine to use when applied correctly, but it is a bit more expensive than using the Bifen products. The only differences between Bifen IT and Bifen XTS is the viscosity and the concentration of the products. They have the same active ingredient, but the Bifen XTS is three times as concentrated as the Bifen IT. So, you mix it at 1/3 of an ounce per gallon instead of 1 oz per gallon. The Bifen IT is too thick to be used in a hose end sprayer, so you really need to use the Bifen XTS if you're using a hose end sprayer. Therefore, it is fine to use the Bifen IT in a tank sprayer, but not a hose end sprayer. The Bifen XTS can be used in a tank sprayer or a hose and sprayer. I typically do not use the Bifen XTS in a tank sprayer because is a little harder to measure out 1/3 of an ounce than it is to measure out a full ounce. However, it's not that big of a deal if you have a small measuring cup that you can use. So, the Bifen XTS will work for all applications. I like using the hose end sprayer because it makes the job go way faster and easier, but it does use a lot more product. It would be impractical to treat a large lawn area with a tank sprayer, so the Bifen XTS and a hose end sprayer is the best way to go for that application. If I am treating my yard, then I figure I may as well go ahead and treat the house at the same time with the same sprayer. I hope all of this didn't end up confusing you even more. Just let me know if you need further explanation. Be well my friend.

      The American cockroaches are coming in from the outside because they do not like the weather. They usually cannot find their way back out, but they do not survive well indoors. Therefore, they will usually die out on their own inside your house. This is not always the case though. Sometimes they do have the ability to establish an infestation in your home. Will this work for fleas?

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před 11 měsíci +1

      This is a great treatment for all sorts of pests, but fleas need to be handled differently, because unlike most pests that crawl into your home, fleas are carried in by people or pets, so they will bypass the barrier around your home. To rid your home of fleas, the first thing you need to do is to vacuum all the upholstered furniture and pet bedding, paying particular attention to places where fleas can hide, like behind cushions. Next, vacuum the floors throughout the house. The product that I like best is called PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol.

    Great video Guy! Very educational. One question, would it be beneficial to also supplement with a outside granular bait for American Roaches, or is the Bifen XTS enough? I see them at times in my alley where the dumpsters are located. Thank you.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem +2

      This treatment will create a barrier that will kill the roaches on the way in. Death occurs within a few hours after exposure. That is why I also treat my yard and you may want to treat the dumpsters as well. I treat the yard with a hose end sprayer. The same one that I show in the video. You can treat a dumpster in about 60 seconds or less with the hose end sprayer. Not only will that end the roaches, but flies as well. Check out my video on how to treat your yard. If you treat the yard, then there is no sense to baiting, because there will be nothing left to bait. Now, baiting certainly doesn't hurt anything, but I prefer a more direct approach for most pests. Treating both the yard and the house will wipe out just about every pest imaginable. I can't remember the last time I saw a spider, ants, or an American roach get into my house. We are totally insect free.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

    Guy, I love your channel but I don't see anything about snakes? Please help us we have snakes.

    • @GuysPestSolutions
      @GuysPestSolutions  Před rokem

      I'm sorry. I do not have a video on snakes, but I can tell you how to do it.
      Snakes are always a challenge. Before you get rid of them though, make sure that you have a type of snake it is actually venomous. Non-venomous snakes can actually be a good thing. You see, one of the reasons they may be coming into your yard is that you have a food supply there. By that I mean you may have mice, rats, frogs, or other small critters that the snakes want to feed on. While the frogs may not be so bad, you certainly don't want the mice and rats running around. So, the snakes can help you out by getting rid of some of these pests. Now, if you are thinking, “Yeah, but these things really freak me out,” then you are not alone. Personally, I cannot stand these things. Nevertheless, if they are non-venomous, I summon up my courage and I leave them alone.
      That being said, if you want to get rid of them, then the very first thing that you need to do is make sure that you remove any food supply that exists in your yard. That means you need to remove any food that may attract critters like rats and mice. Make sure that all trash cans are tightly sealed and do not leave any food out for dogs and cats. Always feed your pets indoors. You may also be offering them a food supply without realizing it. For example, if you have any standing water laying around the yard, like a small pond where you keep koi fish or something, then those areas can also breed things like frogs.
      Finally, you can break the food chain. If you ever watched The Lion King, then you've heard about the circle of life. Big critters eat little critters and that includes bugs. So, in order to break the food chain, a good place to start is by getting rid of the bugs. You can treat your lawn every couple of months with Bifen XTS. I will give you a link to my video on how to treat your yard with a hose end sprayer. Just treat up to the property line and spray the ornamental plants as well. This is going to kill all the bugs on your lawn, and it has a residual of around 60 days. It actually does not last 60 days, but it takes a while before the bugs can get reestablished. If there are no bugs, then no food supply for small critters and small snakes as well. If you have no bugs and no small critters, then no food for the snakes. It takes a while for this to be effective, but the snakes will eventually realize that your property is not a good hunting ground, and they will probably hunt elsewhere. That doesn't mean that one will not occasionally come on the property, but it will reduce the likelihood over time.

      Snakes also like to find hiding places, so make sure that you do not offer them any. This doesn't just mean places they can go under, like firewood, turned over trash cans, piles of leaves, and so forth, but also they like to blend in with the environment. That is why it is common to find them in a garden. They didn't go in your garden necessarily to eat, but to blend in with the environment. Of course, a garden could offer them a food supply if other critters are eating some of those vegetables that you planted. At night they like to hide in places that are particularly dark. Cover is a snake's best friend. They do not like you anymore than you like them and so you will often find them in tall grass where they are not easily seen. So, be sure to keep your lawn mowed. Finally, make sure that you don't have any ditches or holes in the ground that they can get into easily. In other words, do not allow the snakes any place where they can seek cover.
      If these prevention methods fail, then you need to start bringing out the big guns. Probably the most effective way to keep snakes out of your yard is to exclude them by installing snake proof fencing. You can purchase these products on Amazon and I will give you a link to just one such product as an example. Feel free to look around Amazon or other suppliers to find the fencing that would be best suited for your property and needs. This type of fencing makes it difficult for snakes to go under or climb over them.

      You can also try some snake repellents. There are any number of them on the market. They typically use environmentally friendly materials that irritate the snakes so that they don't come around. You can experiment with different products to see what works best for you, but I will give you a link to just one of them.
      Snake repellent: www.solutionsstores.com/snake-out
      There are also snake traps available, but I am reluctant to use them because of the possibility of killing other critters that you may not be interested in getting rid of. So, if you're going to use traps, then try to stick with the ones that are designed to catch snakes alive. I will give you a link to just one of these types of traps.

    Can you recommend anything for spotted lantern flies? I've been using Talstar P and seams to at least kill the adults. They climb all over our house in the young stage for hear and on our outside porch and will crawl all over everything, including you. Very very annoying and nasty bug. Thank you.

      Spotted lantern flies can live on all sorts of vegetation, including trees. They have a life cycle of about a year, so you need to treat for them at least every 90 days with a good pesticide. Every 60 days would be even better. This is quick and easy to do with a hose end sprayer. I have a video on how to treat your yard with a hose end sprayer. Just treat all the vegetation, including the trees. The sprayer that I recommend will reach heights of up to 25 feet. After treating for a year, you will not see many of them anymore, but you need to keep treating because they will continue to invade from adjoining properties. I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      The Taurus SC, the Talstar P, and the Bifen are all non-repellent. The Taurus SC is actually a termiticide and it lasts longer than the other products. So, all of them are good for carpenter ants.

      @GuysPestSolutions Ya, I have been using the Taurus SC battling carpenter ants for 5 years. I'm pretty much winning, but haven't completely wiped them out. I use to get a ton of scouts in my basement, so I know they are in the foundation and probably a satellite nest. I wish I could see where the satellite nest was so I could target their path. Probably coming in thru power and cable/phone lines so I spray everything. It kills pretty much everything, but hadn't totally wiped out the ants. Only had 3 scouts in the basement this year, so way down. Thank you Sir!

    • @GuysPestSolutions

      If Bifen IT or the Bifen XTS is not working for you, then you may not be applying it correctly. Most people fail because they don't use enough of the product and they don't treat the entire yard. The video you watched will stop springtails from entering, but you should really treat the yard, so that you or your pets do not carry them in the house. If they are alive in the yard, they can and will hitch a ride on you or your pets. Remember that I told you in the video that this treatment will not prevent pests that you carry in with you. You need to watch the video on how to treat your yard. If you use a hose end sprayer and you get the lawn wet down to the soil, then it should work. Also, you may need to treat every 60 days to maintain control. Be sure to soak the areas well where the ground meets the house. If you do everything in the video, then this should take care of your springtails.
      If you have them inside, then you should know that springtails need moisture to survive, and they eat decaying matter and mold, so lowering the humidity and removing any mold will help a lot. Most of the time, these guys hang out in bathrooms and other areas of high moisture. The good news is that they do not travel very far from their nests, and that is why you don't see them everywhere. The way I treat them is to use a deltamethrin dust. The one I like to use is D-Fense dust. You simply fill a duster halfway and then dust pipe penetrations, under baseboards, and any other cracks and crevices where you are seeing these guys. You want the exit tube on the duster to be at the top. The deltamethrin dust is waterproof and it lasts about eight months. Remember, they got into your house from the outside, so doing an exterior treatment, including the yard, should stop them from coming in again.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.

      @@GuysPestSolutions I fill my sprayer half way. Add 1 oz per gallon of concentrate…shake….then fill up the rest of the water. I then wait 2-5 mins for the solution to hydrate. I then shake again and shake while applying the product. I also spread granules. This stuff kills everything but springtails. I also bought a dehumidifier and keep the RH around 45-50%. Only one or two enter each window each day but the soil and outside of the house continues to be infected. I’m going to give temprid fx and DE a try as well.

      @@trollzone1 If you are using the Bifen LP granules, those are pretty good, but you still need to water them in with Bifen XTS and a hose end sprayer. A tank sprayer is not going to get it done because you need to apply a lot more pesticide than that. If you are going to use a tank sprayer, then add an insect growth regulator to it. They are all pretty good. I will give you a link to one of them. It sounds like you have the inside covered, but you still need to finish them off outside. So, either try the hose end sprayer and Bifen XTS, or try the IGR, mixed in with Bifen IT in your tank sprayer. Remember to soak the area really well where the house meets the ground. Also, don't forget to treat around ornamental plants. Be well my friend.

    Guy, I would like to do a blanket treatment for my lawn and mulch in my flowerbeds. I ordered Bifen xts but I can't figure out how to apply it using my hose end sprayer, Chapin G362 16 oz bottle. Do I dilute it or do I put the concentrate in the bottle? I need to treat 1000 sqft for ants, springtails, roaches, mosquitos, spiders, etc. I live in gulf coast Louisiana so we have a lot of the same bugs as in Florida. I also want to treat my home, windows, eaves, and facia, and wonder if can I use the same concentration used on my lawn on my home too? Finally, what are your thoughts on Suspend SC compared to Bifen XTC? I've used Suspend SC in the past but I've heard great things about Bifen xts so I thought I would try it, plus it will help with mosquitos. Thank you for all your help.

      That sprayer is fine to use. Please watch my video on how to treat your yard with a hose end sprayer. I recommend the Bifen XTS. The Suspend SC may be too think to work in the sprayer effectively. I'm not sure because I have never tried it. The sprayer you have is pretty good, so it may work. The video will show you how to dilute and use the Bifen XTS correctly. Suspend SC is also expensive. You need to mix it 1.5 oz per gallon for maximum effect, instead of the 1/3 oz per gallon, like the Bifen XTS. The Bifen XTS may look more expensive, but you will use almost 5 times less of it than you would with Suspend SC. So, the Bifen XTS is actually more cost effective. Dilute the Bifen XTS 1 to 14 and set that sprayer on 10 tablespoons. You can treat the exterior of your home with the hose end sprayer. You are not supposed to do that, but it won't harm you or the environment. Just use the same dilution rate. The Bifen XTS does a great job on mosquitoes. I suggest that you also watch my video on mosquitoes.
      I hope that helps. Be well my friend.
