Your remind me of a composer/performer Loreena McKennitt who gets her inspiration from her travels - many in the East and Far East. From folklore we know Baba Yaga can be good or bad , she's not good in this baby & no one with needs a hammer to take you out . Why anyone especially a young lady would venture out to find her is beyond me but I'm very glad she did . Games are always best with two players. Only gonna be one score & that is the game . You just can't beat a legend but she sure can beat you. Way to short but fun as hell . 💀

I love it! This was scary, I first heard about Baba Yaga from the comic series Hellboy and reading a book on Russian folk tales.
I learnt about her from Russian folk tale as well 🙂

@@robertcarey45 I picked up a book from local library a while back, I think it was called Enchanted Folktales and one of the stories I read was named Vasilisa the Beautiful which informed me about Baba Yaga🙂
The book I have is: Russian Fairy Tales by Alexander Afanas'ev.
I took a long break from reading that, plus two other books; and you inspired me just now to read them again Thank you Jiya.😀

This was so unique and full of mystery. Idea of the statue laughing as she enters was amazing. Your comment also had me do some research on Baba Yaga and now I understood the meaning and probably gonna comment the same just to be safer, don’t want her to end up eating me instead 😂😂😂

This was great❤ I just just have one question…… why is every one chanting in the comment section?😂😂😂 is there something I’m missing? That location in the film was spooky.
As per the old saying Baba Yaga asks the person who enters her space “Do you come here of your own free will, or do you come by compulsion?” and the chanting that you read in the comments is the right answer to that question. This ensures that Baba Yaga spares them and shows them mercy 🙂

Interesting. Perhaps in dis situation should to close eyes and try to move our back to forward. slowly. Sometimes it can works. And girl is truly cold blood. Touchind very strange holes, listen scary screams, looks at demon and she looks.... normal. She dont panic, dont screaming, she even run away from demon like she is on her usual morning run around house. May be dis is just a shock and she dont understand all situation.
Very good observation. I think she was in shock from all of this happening and she just could not believe that it was happening in reality 😃

I have always heard of the name 'Baba Yaga,' but I didn't know the story. I watched this very creepy and disorientating short and had to educate myself. Then watched it again! WOW. Every time the poor girl backed against the wall with a hole I yelled for her to move away! I kept thinking a hand would pop out and grab her. And of course … Don't go near or talk to that old woman! But the poor girl was desperate. You created a lot of tension around those moments. Amazing camera work and a fantastic setting. I also love how Baba Yaga was lit up and how you modernized her 'pestle' to a hammer.
Unbelievably good observation, loved reading every word of it. Did you notice the changing smiling expression of the sculpture at the entrance when the girl enters and the neutral expression before that ? Also the sculpture was split like the cave in two mirrored parts 😀

I like how the ruins' name looks almost like Slavic name, as a reference to Baba Yaga's origin.
I've watched few of your films, so I like how this time you used split screen everytime she tried to escape. The little shake and zoom-in during the split suggested us that she's in mirror dimension.
I also liked how the main character is not too scared but more puzzled instead.
I'm here 75% of my free will with 65% of my compulsion.
