- What is a Distributor? A Distributor is the rotating part that is connected to the engine and takes high voltage from the "ignition coil" and "distributes" it to each Spark plug at a specific time of engine operation. In this video I show the different harness plug styles between:
OBD0 - found on 1989-1991 Honda civics and Acura integra's
OBD1 - Found on 1992-1995 Honda Civics and Acura Integra's
OBD2A/B - Found on 1996-2000 Honda civics and Acura Integra's
This information is important when swapping B-Series Honda engines from 1989-2000 because there are significant changes throughout the years.
The Engine harnesses
ECU/ECM - Engine Control Unit/Module
And Distributors all have specific harness connections relative to the year the car was made.

Awesome video would love to see a harness video!
Thanks I will work on putting a harness video together, what harnesses should be included?
OBD1 vs OBD2, particularly for B-series engines would be good
I been looking for that video for awhile 😮💨
My 91 Si isn’t like any of em. It’s obd0 with two round plugs.
I have a 1991 b18a1 Integra and I keep seeing that people say it’s a obd1 or obd0. I’m so confused.
91 should be 0BD0 unless someone swapped the engine and harness, it’s common people go up to obd1
Yea bro its obd0
Just to be on the safe side. For my 97 ek b20b swap to use the oem engine harness I would need the obd2a 96-01 integra distributor because the single cam bolt pattern won’t line up?
Yes you are correct
Can you go in depth what each wires is for?
Yes, I'll try to get a video uploaded soon.
D16z6 vs a d16y8 please it’s driving me crazy why my distributor will not line up to the bolt holes
Just wanna ask if they have a jumper for obd2 b 8 pin to obd2a 10 pin so im not buying new dizzy
I believe there is but definitely do research on the year difference of your engine vs your cars under dash harness
Did you happen to find anything on this? Just having the same problem and want to know if there’s a way, or if I’m going to be looking for another dizzy 😂
@cautionplaysroblox yes there are plenty of aftermarket jumper harnesses you can find across the internet.
My f20b uses the last small obd2 plug ,so for a replacement do I buy the d series distributor ? I have a raywire harness and don’t want to hack into it and change so I can run a obd1 etc
Hey so the plugs may look similar but I’m pretty sure the d series civic distributors have a different bolt pattern than the f series accord distributors unless you modify it.
What jumper harnesses do I need to run my swap b16a on my civic eg 92
It’s mounted but don’t know how to continue with harness!
So you can actually use an integra harness but you need to find out what obd gen your motor is, your car is 0bd1
What harness should I get for my 2000 ek ex? I have a b18b1 with a gsr p72-2 head. 0bd2 8 pin to 10 pin harness would work? Running a b20 distributor on the head rn. Don’t like it.
I would go with the em1 99-00 civic Si harness.
Can i run a 1996-2001 ODB2 Distributor in a 1995 ODB1 integra? i have the wiring harness for the conversion
@Joemis Maldonado
No The plugs won’t match, would need to modify wires or source a jumper harness
@@joemismaldonadoRx7 and if i do will it work?
@@_whacky it could work if you wire it correctly and the bolt holes line up
will the obd1 dizzy fit an obd 2 d16 head, will the bolts line up
Yes the single cam distributor bolt patterns are similar.
@@joemismaldonadoRx7 i just wanted to ask one more thing, i have a p28 ecu but my car is a 6th gen civic with obd2a, do i need to change the dizzy or can i just plug a conversion harness on the ecu and run the car fine
@mohammadqadri5065 you can use a conversion harness and run your obd2a car on the obd1 ecu
Hey can I use a obd-0 for the obd-2?
The wires are different , will need a jumper harness
Can you swap out a obd0 to the next generation?
Yes there would be wire modifications but it’s possible.
