      Is there any added functionality with the OBD1 injectors or no difference at all?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  Před 5 lety +1

      It's required to go obd1, but no added benefit stock. However to make it easier to tune, going obd1 is the way to go. Not many options, if really any remaining at all to tune obd0 ecus.

      @@GarageBuiltHondas Ok, so the previous comment (RT Motorsports) saying it's not necessary to change them when converting to OBD1 is incorrect?

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  Před 5 lety

      I should've phrased it better. Are you familiar with the 2 different types of injectors? One works with a resistor box, the other doesn't. He is correct in his statement, I prefer to use obd1 injectors as you'll then have the clips needed for a wide range of other "upgraded" injectors. What setup are you going to have?

  • @PlasticDrummers
    @PlasticDrummers Před 2 lety +9

    For everyone wanting to do this conversion for the cleanest result. Don’t cut your wires!!!!! You can de-pin every plug and change the plugs over to obd1. Without ruining your harness or having to solder.
    The only wires that will need to be soldered is the 4 for the new o2 and the 2 for the vtec solenoid and pressure switch and 1 for knock sensor. Single cam motors 92-95 don’t need knock sensors
    The only time you’ll need to cut wires if you’re doing a dpfi to mpfi on obd0
    Automatics can also do the mpfi swap into Efs as well non vtec and vtec
    A stock d15b2 crx dx bottom end with 1.6l zc non vtec cam slapped into the head converted to mpfi and a pm9 ecu header and short ram will hold its own against a stock crx si. It will pull from it on take off
    And a d16z6 conversion with auto p28 ecu holds its own as well
    While autos aren’t the fastest there’s a bit of fun to be had for those who don’t want to drive manual or can’t.

    12:22 why not the yello SCS wire? do you not read engine codes? ive got a b20vtech im trying to see if i can get engine codes, ive tried jumping d22 and d04 on my p28 ecu but it just gives me a solid cell. maybe its because the engine light on my 88 civic was never meant to blink out codes? or perhaps it has to do something with the jumper harness to the ecu? also noticed that there was a wire piggy backing off the d04 wire, anyways any ideas or suggestions is appriciated.

    Hello, nice video but I have some little different questions. Im running eg4 (dpfi OBD1 sohc) and I'm planning to put D16A9 (mpfi OBD0 dohc), so i need (want) to chage motor wiring to OBD1, So I need to replace distributer with OBD1 one, replace thermostat with OBD1, use OBD1 injectors, 02 sensor with 4 wire (instead the OBD0 with one wire)? Im planning to use d16z6 motor installation wires and my tranny (because I want to stay with hydro not cable one). Do I need anything else? Do i need to add some wires to my original car installation because dpfi to mpfi? (Car installation is stock from b2 engine, and the motor installation will bi swapped with d16z6 one. Also which ECU i should run? Can i use harness OBD1 to OBD0 ECU? Or i can run some other OBD1 sohc mpfi ECU like from d16z6 or d15b7? Thanks a lot. Greetings from Croatia!

    • @GarageBuiltHondas
      @GarageBuiltHondas  Před 5 lety +1

      You'll need to first do a dpfi to mpfi conversion and also use the obd1 conversion harnesses. That'll get you set up to running the engine correctly. Easiest option would be to use your existing wiring harness and convert it to be mpfi. Using a harness from an mpfi car will not work unless you use the underdash harness also.
