  • In this video, we'll take you on a tour of Kingsand Cornwall. So join us as we discover the beauty of this idyllic seaside village and uncover the secrets that make Kingsand such a special place to visit.
Kingsand Cornwall is a picturesque coastal village with its charming narrow streets, colourful houses, and stunning beaches, it's the perfect destination for a relaxing seaside getaway.
In the past Kingsand owed its prosperity to two industries; fishing and smuggling. There are still the remains of a number of old pilchard cellars and boat stores dating back to the late 1700s dotted along the seafront. Harder to find are traces of the village's smuggling past. It is said that around 50 boats operated out of the bay here, smuggling in tons of contraband each year.
On Mayday each year the village takes part in the Black Prince procession. Beginning in Millbrook the procession passes through Kingsand before finishing on the beach at Cawsand where a flower-laden model boat is launched into the sea.

Not sure what to make of this place. I found it unnerving to have the sea come quite so close to the houses. Was that a very high tide so normally a sand/pebble beach of some kind? I was trying to imagine living and working there where no obvious parking for most houses particularly in the narrow lanes. Interesting though so thank you for showing somewhere so different.

Hi Maureen. It was high tide at the time and when we have been before there has been a beach in front of the houses. However, I would not like to live in those houses during a winter storm. There is a car park but it is not that big though. Thank you for watching and for your interesting comment. Rob
