“John Starks choked” Reggie a savage 💀
Insane Sharks We're players really that blunt back then?, I don't think any other player today would come and say the opposing opponent choked like that.
Zero I could see Draymond saying that. Lol
Jonathan A True, but I can't picture too many players saying that.
Zero Reggie would make a choking motion to Spike Lee.
he knows nothing
“Have I ever told you I scored 8 points in 9 seconds?”
“Yes Reggie, you tell me all the time”
Lol, came here after that commercial
Dewitt McDidditt same
I came after that commercial too
Same!
SAME LOL
“Did this dude just did this?”
😂😂😂
You know shit was impressive when sentences start coming out ass backwards
😂😂😂
As soon as he said that I KNEW he was gonna miss those foul shots- there are two kinds of players the ones that thrive under pressure and the ones that fold under pressure.
jeffery reaves wait are you talking about watching the game live or this documentary?
That's one of greatest moments in nba history.
It was!!
but that little shove would've been a foul in today's game.
Agreed
No I am
r/willbe
Can’t believe this was 23 years ago.. man I’m getting old.
Time flies
Bigg Faxx 😂
and you have frieza as your profile picture lol
Andy G bro I feel the same way. I feel old just watching this. I remember this game on an nbc televised game on a Sunday afternoon. Damn it feels like it was just yesterday.
better to get old then to get dead
I watched this game. I was 12 years old. Watching Spike Lee looking stupid still warms my heart 24 years later
I was 22 - and it was the beginning of the end for me as a Knicks fan. Anthony Mason being traded pushed me even further away. The cancer that was Isiah Thomas was what finally did it. I'm still not convinced that he doesn't have his hand in this current mess in some way or another.
I was 15, remember it like it was yesterday.
I was 11 and a die hard Knicks fan. I couldn't help but admire the guy. He was one of the most clutch players ever
Wanted to punch Spike Lee ever since. Just once...
We need Reggie in 2k
Why so 2k can overrate him and make him a 98 😂😂😂
Bam Bam he doesn't want to be in the game, the same with Chuck
Solomon Kessington why not
Bam Bam
What rating do you think he would be if they put him in the game, in his prime? I always thought like a 91 or 92.
Mike Tank Brown ll lol hell naw hes a spot up shooter nothing more ,no defense, cant pass, cant rebound, cant dribble/create shots, he was a good player not great, u must never seen him play if u think he deserve a 91/92 smh but its 2k they even give players who never shot a 3 high 3pt ratings
Reggie was a class act. He never went ring chasing. Truly an Indiana legend. Players today could learn a thing or two from him.
Reggie Miller on ring chasing:
"Perhaps, but you and many others are the same people who kill guys for being loyal and ringless, can't have it both ways.. Go get dat jewelry."
Back when players spoke trash to other players during post game interviews lol
JPhoenixHipHop now they wait till they get on the plane or bus and "tweet" lol
@So Cool1 lol hella dumb.
So Cool1
Ikr so sad, back when the floor was made out if floor 😔
yes now they 'trade their passion fer glory' ;-)
It aint no trash talk. Just plain facts. Starks choked
Who’s here after they hear about it in the Wendy’s commercial
Me. LOL
😂😂😂😂 Me. Just saw the commercial and said "let me google this!"
I miss this Knicks Pacers rivalry. One of the best rivalries of all time.
During that time the East was tuff
Yup, idk what happened to the East now
@@alcadeias27 MJ Gone 🤷😊
Hicks vs Knicks
Well it's about to be reborn.
Reggie is the most underrated player of all time!!! The prototype for Steph Curry and other shooters today.
#FACTS!! If he were "allowed" to pop up and shoot 3's every trip down the court, he would be the all time leader right now
My favorite player all time! He was amazing to watch. He is an Indiana legend for sure
He’s my favorite player too. Of any sport. I grew up watching him and he is the Pacers.
Pacers/knicks games were some of the best to watch even if neither were your teams.... Boom Baby, it's MILLER time!!!
EyeHv cIT Absolutely brutal rivalry!!
I'm a knick fan and that game still haunts me (especially now that I live in Indiana). Man I miss those 90s playoff games. The energy was just a different level.
I concur
I bet the missed finger roll haunts you more Lol Don't worry, as a Heat fan, I'm still not over Allan Houston.
@AlexG-tp2ik why are you opening old wounds lol.
@@efrainlopez3782 Lol
You could actually foul hard and not get a technical. If you breathe on someone, it's foul today nba
"I kind of see his foot stumble just a little bit"
-cuts to clip of Reggie pushing him down-
🤣
Reggie didn't push him down. Keep on burying your head in your sour milk.
😂😂😂
Reggie clearly "assisted" into his stumbling down as well. 🤣🤣
@@TellenJones All of you need to look closer. He trips over Reggie's left foot as he's trying to cut back. That's why Reggie raised his hands over his head.
This guy and Michael Jordan messed up my childhood for the possibility of the Knicks winning a NBA championship.
Whatcha talking about? They made it to the finals, but got stage fright.
Naw, that was that non call with the Charles Smith layup and that mass suspension against Miami
Poor Spike Lee, he got PTSD because of that game✌✌✌
Spike wasn't the only one. The entire Knicks team never really psychologically recovered from that. Reggie shut Spike Lee up. Reggie was the greatest pure shooter of his generation. One of the greatest pure shooters of all time.
@@mt3311 Spike got what he deserved
I’m a Pacer fan, and I’ll never forget that game! I was losing my mind!
R.I.P Anthony Mason 🙏🏽
Wow I missed that death notice. Just Googled it, that's tragic. He was a great player and 48 is too young to die.
I did not know he died either. 😕
@@Iwillnotbepushed Now Kobe ):
Wait what?
This is why aliens don’t talk to us God bless him!
Came back after the crowd saying 'fu** You reggie'
I remember this like yesterday.
Reggie is my favorite player ever.
B Rumph he’s also my favorite player of all time
One of the great competitors and the clutch shooters (short or long range) in my lifetime. He scared the $&*t out as a young Bulls fan, but embraced him ever since his lone appearance in the NBA Finals and rooting for him and the Pacers, and remember shedding a tear in his last game ever.
The day New York cried and the rest of the world died from laughter
Julio El Chavez yeah. We New Yorkers also deserve to be laughed at for being 9/11 targets as well
@@subzerofromny735 why would people laugh at us for this. Is something wrong in your head
why anytime something fucked up happens to new york everyone laughs or is happy about? lol
9some it’s pretty easy to laugh at the Knicks lmao
Back here because knicks fan heckling reggie miller hahaha
I watched this game live. Being from Indiana it was exciting to watch Reggie crush the Knicks
Thank you basketball Gods for finally making it up to the Knicks vs the Sixers.
8 points in 8.9 seconds, one of sports most iconic moments.
Congrats Reggie
Remember watching that live. So awesome.
Larry Johnsom 4 point play in the 99 Eastern Finals game 7 was vengeance tho.
That play made me realize NY in my life will Neva win and it's Jimmy boy doland
* game 3
@@legendgamer3853 You're right. I dunno why i said Game 7, it felt like a game 7 tho, because without that moment the Knicks most likely don't end up in the Finals.
That game was rigged and it's all good Reggie still shit on them in the conference finals in 2000 in madison square game 6 to eliminate them he got the last laugh in the rivalry ... Knicks have been a dumpster fire since then 😂
@@jsmiller0605 Reggie and the Pacers have the same amount of championships as that Dumpster fire tho. And in 2000 the Knicks were already on their way out, nobody cares about that series or remembers it... except for maybe you.
Aaah...good ole 90s. Saw this one live
So did I it was Awesome! Miss those days.
I watched that game live. I was rooting for the Pacers and was a huge Reggie Miller fan. Loved it! Still my favorite NBA moment of all time.
I'm a huge knick fan now and back then.. looking back at it now ? What a treat Reggie miller gave us and the Knicks to watch .. mugsie bogs said it best .. back then there was 3-4 hall of gamer in one team.. harder to win championship back then .. teams now u maybe have 1 hall of famer in 5 NBA teams ..
Miller was always one of my favourites growing up
GOD I miss the old time NBA. These rivalries were gold.
Them were the greatest times in the NBA
The most famous missed free throws in NBA history 🤣
I loved the Knicks, but I remember being 9 years old and calling the exact sequence of events before it happened, my cousins went bonkers as it was happening. Even though I was mad, I couldn't help smile knowing I was watching one of the greatest moments in basketball history!
I was 12 years old when i saw this happen. At that time i didnt realize the magnitude of what i was watching. This was amazing and ill be shocked to ever see it happen again.
Anyone else here after watching Tyrese Maxey awaken this childhood trauma at MSG?
I did… yes. And I thought of Reggie Miller! 😂😫😡
That little shove would've been a foul today's game.
Jay Lee not if lebron did it lmao
Remember it happened for the heat james harden pushed and Eric Gordon got the buzzer
For the rockets I mean
Backwood Sean I think Gerald green got it not Eric Gordon
A tech! 😂
But this was Miller Time, mother F***ers!
I didn't like Reggie Miller at the time, though. He reminds me of a Ferengi from Deep Space Nine as well 🙈.
"Did this dude just did this?"
Rico Boi You got it 1st lol
I love it 😂 Starks could never talk lol
This is one of my favorite basketball memories.
This era was the height of the NBA!!! Absolutely the best basketball was played in the 90s!!! I freakin hated Reggie cuz I was a Knicks fan lol. But what a beast
may be my favorite game of all time.
I want the 1994-95 Indiana Pacers in 2k so I can play them against that years Knicks. Such a legendary series
Reggie is not on 2K, won’t give them the rights to use his name. Unfortunately the only Pacer team we have is with Pandemic P, which I refuse to play with
I remember watching this game live. One of the best playoff memories ever.
as a bulls fan, we hated Reggie Miller, but were always impressed by his clutchness !
Especially when it happened to the Knicks, which we Bulls fans also hated :)
Damn good game :)
@@axlslak just reminded me of Eastern Conference Finals 1993 Game 5
I remember watching this as a kid. It was one of the most amazing games I've ever seen. Reggie was an absolute beast.
Back when the NBA was full of excitement
Miller = Underrated
You got that right. He was one of the greatest shooters in history and was a great defensive player too.
Potential Patriot Ray Allen?
No he wasn't. Back then there were a lot of great and monsters players, legends. Remember the dream team?.
I don't know what's worst,Reggie's 8 seconds or Starks shooting us into darkness in game 7 championship against Houston.
i remember watching this live, unbelievable!
The best basketball sequence I've ever seen live. No exaggeration. Knicks collapsed smh
Without question 10 Shooting guards of all time, an absolute legend and one of my all time favorite players.
Golden Days of the NBA
Nemo Dream I agree, you won't find a player in this era like John Starks, he busted his ass just to get in the NBA, plus the era back then was hard as hell with defense.
Brandon S players nowadays are on social media, and chasing pussy.
Yep, today's NBA is soft and pales compared to this era.
Nemo Dream Today its easier to score points and less tough. They call foul on everything
Golden Days are back #30 mic drop
here after Nicks vs Pacers chant
Am proud to say this I was watching this game when Reggie put on a Show
Came here after a F*ck you Reggie chant at madison,..knicks vs pacer game 2 😂
Teams and players had a never say die attitude back then. I just witnessed the Blazers completely give up due to a 10 point deficit with over a minute to go, didn't even try to foul, to go down 3 games to 0. Here Reggie Miller and the Pacers overcame about the same kind of gap in less than 20 seconds, they never gave up.
TYREESEEEE 😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥maxeyyyyyyyy
I did the math. At the rate of 8 points in 9 seconds he would have been on pace for approximately 2,560 points in a game!!!!!! Now that’s a lot of points. Who agrees?
aaand... 2,560 are exactly the amount of 3 pointer made in Reggie's career.
so he'll just play a single game and retire?
Key words... “approximately”... aka not exactly 2560 lol 🤣
It was an absolute georgeous Saturday in June. The apartments’ windows and sliding glass doors wide open. Many in my large complex had turned off the TV and gone outside to enjoy the rest of the beautiful early summmer day. Can’t blame them…. But.
Soon they would be hearing the unmistakable joyful screams and yelling from those who stayed inside to witness a miracle. Not one on ice, but on a basketball court. Many who gave up and missed witnessing will never admit that they did.
I don’t blame them. 😊
Was a beautiful day.
Who’s here after the Knicks win game 1 over indy?
My first idol. #millertime #pacernation
I was 15 years old when it happened I was actually watching that game going for the Pacers to it was awesome
I was 19 when this happen
All time favorite player and all time favorite NBA moment.
Clutch
The game being almost over I got ready to take my dog for a walk. And paused just in time to see this-the most memorable few moments in sports!
I was in the 7th or 8th grade and turned this on a couple of minutes before this. Probably the craziest sequence of any basketball game I've ever seen. Was complete madness.
“Did this dude just did this?” Is such an iconic quote. 😂
I still remember this game while i was living in the Bronx.
I was 12 years old then and remember every second!
who's here after that wild ending between wizards and nets. 8 pts in 8 sec is REAL!
I was 13! I’ll never forget this 😢
"Boom Baby!! It's a tie ballgame!!"
Mark Jackson right before the clip starts: "And then all of a sudden.....it happened (the 8 points in 9 seconds)"
😮 I remember watching this game as it unfolded. It blew my mind. I've never seen anything like this since. Reggie Miller is a true legend.
I was 13 years old when I saw this game and I’ll never forget it
This was freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!
I remember watching this in jail it was so entertaining which I didnt get much of in the can so I personally want to thank you reggie.
Why were you in jail
@@Justin-ev8nn I was a teenager first degree arson
@@Justin-ev8nn you very nosey
Gary Johnson Just curious lmao
lol Knicks fan saying "f**k you" to Reggie today.
I remember watching this in my mom’s/step dad’s den. I was shocked and amazed.
Never give up man. Anything is possible
Loved this era!!!
I remember this game very well. Pat Riley's face puts in into perspective all by itself.
LOVE those great plays!
I remember this game! Amazing
I was 8 years old and I still will never forget this
Classic moment
That savage post game!
LEGEND!
Maybe I'm biased as a Pacers fan, but in my opinion, these kinds of moments are why I think the best decade for the NBA was the 1990s. It had a higher profile on TV, the rivalries were dramatic, Hatfields vs. McCoys type of rivalries, and Pacers-Knicks was one of the best rivalries of the decade, if not *the* best.
The "blood feud" elements, the passion, the history - I don't think today's game can compare. That's why I was never sold on LeBron James - he entered the league right as Jordan retired for good, and many of the rules changed again. I don't think it's because of him, but once he entered the league, I'd argued it became more watered down. I'm all for safety, but as rough as it was, there is an odd "beauty" to the physicality, if you will.
Say what you want about Reggie Miller. He'll always be a legend in these parts.
And give me '90s basketball any day. I still watch the NBA when I can, but I feel like that's why Jordan was the greatest for me - he played in a more physical league, and was able to give it as well as he could take it. Plus, there was more parity. Maybe that's just me, though.
tl;dr - Reggie was better than he was given credit for, Pacers-Knicks was a great rivalry and needs to come back; Jordan is the best in my opinion.
I'm biased, too, but we're both right! LOL What gets me is when people compare the Warriors to like the 90s Bulls or the 80s Celtics/Lakers, but just completely overlook other teams of the era. It's not just the championship squads, but also teams that didn't win championships, like Ewing's Knicks, Barkley's Suns, Malone/Stockton's Jazz, Hakeem's Rockets, Payton/Kemp's Sonics, would *curbstomp* the Warriors. LeBron and a bunch of no-names took the Warriors to 6 games back in 2015. Do people really think the Warriors would stand a chance against teams from the 80s/90s and even 00s?
@@drlee2 It's an interesting question, but I admit I never paid attention to that sort of thing. Maybe that's part of it, too. There's only one Michael Jordan, so the concept of the "next" Jordan - or the "next" anybody, for that matter - always gave me mixed feelings.
incredible
I could never get over this moment best chance ever in the Ewing era to win high school was messed up the next day I got clowned
man i love reggie
One of the dopest comebaccs. Also, i wish there we're some more "John Starks" like players today.
Unforgetable
Those Eastern Conference series were so nasty back then. Teams absolutely hated each other.
Remember that great performance by Reggie. Savage play in those 9 seconds. Loved it to when he would do the choking sign to Spike Lee in NY. :-D
Good. old. times.
I miss these days....
I was nine years old oweeeeee it's been a min
