Rammstein has a catalog dating back to the late 90's. They have a huge, worldwide fan base and have always retained their original six members. Both their official videos and their live shows are epic, and they are still touring. They sing exclusively in German, but there are two channels where you can find their videos with subtitles: educatedmarine and Buckstaabu. I highly recommend their live videos from Madison Square Garden: Ich Tu Der Weh, Feuer Frei, and Buckstaabu. Gute reise! 😊
Originally this song was written as an entrance song for the heavy weight boxer Vitali Klitschko, but his management refused the song as it seem to heavy for them. This in mind, the lyrics become senseful, right? As it was not used for the boxer, the band searched for another "backstory". While brainstorming about this, one member remembered a scene in a Snow White film where the dwarfs said, that Snow White is their sun. So it came to Rammstein's screwed up version of the Snow White story, with a harsh Snow White junkie addicted to gold.
The "female" voice is an artificial one played by the keyboard/synth. They are six guys (vocal, 2 guitars, bass, drums, keyboard/synth) who have started this band in 1994 and are still touring and producing new albums. Their line-up has never changed. If you want to continue to listen to Rammstein, I would suggest to see their live video of "Du hast" (in Paris, France 2012). "Sonne" was released in 2001, I believe
so is currently 23 years old!
It was originally written as a song for Vitali Klitschko
then a boxer as his entry music but it wasn't used
so they repurposed it.
The video is sort of independent of the music
playing on the trope of Snow White
so the words don't fit the storyline of the video.

I don't mean this in a bad way, but I've often noticed in comments that the "Herz" in "Mein Herz brennt" is written with a 't', i.e. "Hertz". But what is meant is "Herz" = "Heart". Maybe a mistake in Google Translation.
Hertz (with a 't') is the unit of frequency and in our country also a car rental company. Warm greetings from Germany.

Btw.... The lyrics isn't really about Snow White... It is about the Sun. Sonne means Sun.

Oh awesome! I can always pull up the lyrics but trying to listen while trying to keep track of where I'm at lyric -wise can sometimes take away from the visual experience of the video

One of the best examples is their song 'Radio' where the verse '...Stille heimlich fernes Weh...' is often translated as '...silent secretly distant pain...' instead of '...secretly nursing/nurturing wanderlust...'
