Ethel Merman sings Gershwin's I GOT RHYTHM in a live 1937 radio broadcast. Originally aired as a tribute to Gershwin following his death in Los Angeles.
This is one of the earliest recordings of Ethel Merman singing I GOT RHYTHM that I know of. I'm thinking that the orchestrations and the delivery are probably the closest we'll ever get to Merman's original 1931 rendition of the song. THANK YOU!
This is awesome! CLosest to the October 14, 1930 debut in the 2nd Act of Girl Crazy at the Alvin Theatre!
