When they had the earthquake - in San Francisco-back in 19`6
They said that old mother nature - was up to her old tricks.
That's the story that went around, but here's the real lowdown-
Put the blame on mame boys, put the blame on mame
One night she started to - shim and shake-
that brought on the `Frisco quake
So you can, Put the blame on mame boys,
put the blame on mame.
They once had a shootin' -up in the Klondike when they got Dan McGrew
Folks were puttin' the blame on - the lady known as Lew
that's the story that went around, but here's the real lowdown-
Put the blame on mame boys,
put the blame on mame
Mame did a dance called the Hichy-koo,
that's the thing that slew McGrew
So you can, Put the blame on mame boys
PUT-THE-BLAME-ON-MAME - Hudba
When someone asked her what held that dress in place, Rita simply said - confidence.
Boom!!!
Has everyone forgotten that Jessica Rabbit was created after Rita Hayworth?
When I watched that movie for the first time, I wondered myself if there was never a "wardrobe malfunction" during the shooting of the film because the bustier sat dangerously low😉
i legit have a dress that looks identical to the one she's wearing and luckily it has like a grip thing around the top, but it I need to get it taken in before I can wear it because it just falls down sometimes and is rlly big around my waist
Pemmi Alcantara - in case you’d like another...

A lot of people don't know it, but Rita had an IQ that was in the genius range. Brains, beauty and talent, what a devastating combination.
How come she got alzheimer then?
@@inkerikavantera Getting Alzheimer’s has nothing to do with your IQ.
@@Ozziecatsmom Really?
@@inkerikavantera I’ve worked with the elderly for years, people of all walks of life can and do get Alzheimer’s. Doctors, nurses, lawyers, housewives, farmers, teachers, all different levels of intelligence, it doesn’t discriminate.
@@Ozziecatsmom Ok 🙌🏻
Every time I see her dance, she looks like she is having fun and enjoying herself. She sure was talented.
I don't care how any of you dissect it or tear it down I say she is absolutely magnificent. Always has been and always will be!!
Unfortunately this movie, somehow reflect Rita's real life. She was abused by her 5 husbands and history tells, that even her father abuse her. She start showing sings of Alzheimer's in her 40's, but at that time nobody knew what that disease was, everybody believe she had alcohol problems because of her actions, acting a little bit crazy sometimes, forgetting thins, etc. She died at 68. So sad, she was so beautiful.
her whole life was tragic, i just read up about her on the net. what a shame that she had to suffer like that. so....unfair :(
Yes and the real beauty here is her energy. Fire. Desperate. Like Anna Magnani in "Mama Roma".
That is tragic, I hadn't ever heard that (or, I've forgotten?), but I'm going to start researching!
Very true! She had a horrible life full of abuse - one of the sad victims of Hollywood. And people who knew her said she was a kind, shy and sensitive woman. That one always breaks my heart. And during the last years, when she had full blown Alzheimer, the press shot awfull photographs of her, getting out of a plane in total panic because she didn't know where she was anymore. Abused until the end. Poor Rita. She deserved much better then that.
I wished Rita/Margarita was given a chance to have true love with a loving, steady and patient man who could give her the stability and marriage she's always wanted. She deserved better than those ugly ugly men that married her.
It began with her father sexually abusing her from roughly the age of 11 or 12 till 18. The abuse was so bad that her father would dress her up in sexy, garish clothes as his dance partner and call her his wife! When they were touring in Mexico, that's when the abuse was more frequent because her mother wasn't allowed to go. Once home, Volga would sleep in Margarita's bed in a vain attempt to stop the sexual abuse. Can you imagine losing your virginity to your father? That is the most horrifying thing that could happen to a girl.
Rita could turn a 3 minute scene into something iconic. And she was more sexy pulling of a glove than anybody else getting naked. Some class, lady! This is pure gold!
Psychological Operations Fully Functioning.
Yes iconic scene, Rita taking off her gloves with such grace and elegance. Not easy to do.
I didn't realise how seductive taking off gloves was until I saw this performance
lol so true
lol my thought just now
Seductive gloves ow get it Rita !!🙏🏾👑 rest queen
Me too
She´s THE QUEEN!
Rita Hayworth is brilliant, phenomenal, amazing and wonderful, with the voice of an Angel full of magic and love, Her voice touches and touches my heart ❤️❤️❤️
It's not her voice...dubbed by Anita Ellis
Rita was very talented! She was one of the best actresses of her time!
One of the most beautiful woman of all time
She was fabulous!
True. Even by todays crazy standards shes considered gorgeous
@@hanahhuhahaha1105 standards? You mean daily crossdressing into mens uniforms for most women..if you can even call those merchandise word shirts and disfigured shorts, "mens uniforms". Every man and women, no matter the rang of poor to rich, african to latino although I will not get started on that and people pathetic modern ideals thinking 1950 was hell, all of them, wore a nice suit at least 2 suits, a nice hemmed and pressed hem, and shined or simply worked pumps, spectators or simple larks, out and about anytime you went to a town setting or perhaps grocery store. Women had those fantastic homely stead drinkwater pants with the flowing fabric and ankle height hem, which allowed for a well unrestricted and mature foundation to an outfit...you see we used to car about how we looked not only to people, but alone as well. Many women wore anything from a sheath gown, bright golden yellow, with red cross heels, and a glossy combed beautifully made up hair-do as was accustom to time, to someone in a simple over hair bonnet, mysterious shades, dark colored coat, and an ambiguous pair of pumps finish the devilishly devine mystery of a wardrobe. I remember one dame, pressed in a dark robe, this showstopping iridescent burgundy lip color, envious black shooter spectacle sunglasses, and rhinestone encrested high heel pumps. She was very highly accentric, and rich to the eye..and got into a Model A, I believe it was ice green mint colored with white fenders, and a white wall or perhaps simply black tired, wheel set. Well later on that same day, we crashed into an automobile, denting our Nash 1942, low and behold a mint colored Model A hit into our automobile, back up, and sped away quite fast (the 1920s idea in modern day will trick you with what they try to label as slow underdeveloped vehicles, that was not remotely the truth).. black tinted windows just as I remember in the parking lot, and yes white fenders with wheels I can't really remember. Either in incredible coincidental situation of which both black tinted 1928-9 Model A Fords were customer-origin painted Mint automobiles with white fenders yes, or it was the same mysterious lady. Hell felt like a Noir from that movie we watched at thw theatre, I recalled my childhood memories by my 10s, and by then I was all over the pictures such as Double Indemnity, Rampant Eagle, and Pitfall, this was the closest feeling to it.
women
She was so mindblowingly gorgeous, just unbelievable. Incidentally, Rita is not singing. The song was sung by a vocalist named Anita Ellis and Rita is miming it in this very famous scene.
It wasn't? Well they matched her voice and vibe perfectly, didn't they? Awesome moment in cinema!
Unfortunately, Warner and its "Leaders" dubbed her voice throughout her contract with Warner! Rita wanted to take singing lessons but Warner would not allow her to
Yes, but in live presentations she sang with her heal voice. Not just that. She also played the guitar and castanets, things she was used to doing since she was a little girl.
atiboyful, it was not Warner, it was Columbia. Remember that Rita Hayworth was known as the Queen of Columbia Pictures.
Oh shut up Allison, that's Rita's voice in all our hearts & minds
No woman could imitate her..!!!!
This is 70-something years old and it's still hot as Hell!
Marvelous choreography that by someone who knew the ethnography and mythology he was manipulating. (Jack Cole?)
Loved how MJ added this into his Smooth Criminal performance for This Is It. -Icons-
OMG BC of u I just remembered why this is so familiar to me

@Sebastian Vlogs And Fanmade And Gaming MJ never copied any moves from this he was paying homage idiot The King Of Music MJ Was Original And Had His Own Style As Well👑✨💯
Naturally Beautiful Woman.
One of the most beautiful actresses ever. Rita Hayworth a true Hollywood legend.
"They don't make em like this anymore" -some old dude.
they do. but they arent preffered anymore.
Did the man who said this know that this was an act and not the true Rita?
According to the record, she was experienced in performing roles like this because her father forced her to do sensual acts ever since she was a little girl, calling her his wife when they were dancing duets and dressing her in revealing outfits. He molested and abused her from a very young age. As a result, the true Rita was described as *shy and sensitive,* in such a contrast with the "love goddess" image that people who worked with her said one couldn't believe they are the same person.
So, it's inappropriate to say they don't make them like this. I certainly hope they don't. Her sensuality was the by-product of her abuse and trauma. Rita was described by Fred Astaire as having "trained perfection and individuality", but it was not her true nature. She was so hurt that the real her could barely manifest, and the environment and company she found herself in did not allow her to do so anyway. 💔😔 Dear woman, may she rest in God's peace!
Leyla YAŞAR right
my dude's not that old but he loves the classic style, and luckily I fit it hehe.

💕HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY RITA!!!💕 THE MOST BEAUTIFUL... THE MOST TALENTED... THE MOST LOVED GODDESS EVER TO GRACE THIS WORLD!!! You will live on in our hearts FOREVER. Rest in peace dear lady.💕💕💕

One of the best scenes in a film ever.
I agree....it’s one of my all-time favorites! Rita Hayworth in her prime. Absolutely gorgeous, an amazing dancer & ALWAYS a consummate performer- the camera loved her!!
Fantástic striptease Rita haywoth 💃🏻 in Gilda 1946 📽️🎬👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm a 74 yo lifelong chorus girl/dancer wannabe. She's breathtaking, perfect in every way. There was an earthiness in every movement which was noticeable in every style of dance she did. And she never came across as a diva. Fred Astaire said that she was his number one dance partner because her moves were so perfect and just flowed. The Shortie George is a terrific jive number!!
She was more unforgettable than the five actresses the Academy nominated that year!
She was a beautiful woman.
Najpiękniejsza aktorka pięknie śpiewa i tanczy

I'm only 14 and I grew up on this song I'm in love with this song she is incredibly talented
Yes, she had such exuberance onscreen. Dancing with Fred & Gene: very impressive!
Happy 18th birthday
Haappy birthday and I hope you have branched out. The older movies and songs are sooo much more than today's music. Keep the past in your sould and bones.... It will benefit you in the future.
There are people who dislike this and give thumbs down. What the heck!!! This is a classic!

I think we can all agree---this girl won the "genetic lottery"!
Il suo fascino e la sua bellezza non svaniranno mai e stata la bellezza prorompente e l'atomica del dopo guerra Gilda sei stata unica. ...

Half of this song was in my head for some reason. Happy to have found it so quickly, even though all I could remember was “put the blame....boys”

There never was a woman like Gilda told publicity

UNICA... LA DIVA 💯💯
Linda ⭐🌹❤️
Es linda;!🌹
Mee eencanta toda ella es linda!!🌹
I'm a little bit sad that no one is talking about how her performance is traditional burlesque. She's phenomenal! She does an amazing job. She's also doing a watered down version of what women in her own time were being arrested for. I'm a little sad that most people don't know that.
She knew what she was doing and so did the audience at the time. She's doing a classy burlesque act to provoke Johnny. Note at the end she says ' Now they all know what am..,..'
Yeah. I got that. I've seen the movie and am aware she was getting her point across. I'm also aware that a lot of iconic burlesque performers were arrested for their acts. Especially during the time this movie would have come out. I'm a burlesque performer. I've also taken a lot of time to learn the history of burlesque from people who have studied it for years and have written books on the subject.
@@jennya9838 context is everything. She's doing a version of burlesque but takes off one glove.Shesbtge unattainable pretending to be attainable
uh huh...
Interesting. Interesting history. Intriguing too. Hollywood seems to make 'everything' acceptable. Kind of disgusting too.... since we know what Hollywood is offering now. This performance was bubbles and stuffed toys in comparison.
The most beautiful girl ever.
Wow
So beautiful
Such a sad life
Just wow shes beautiful.
Rita I've always been so in love with you gorgeous angel 😇❤
Beautiful, fantastic dancer and a good singer; and such a tragic life...our appreciation of talent has become so dumbed down...
reevedavey Actually her singing was always dubbed in her movies -- in GILDA her singing double is Anita Ellis. But some say that her rendition of this song earlier in the movie (slower, with only guitar) actually uses her own voice... for the only time in her film career. If so, she really didn't sing badly at all. And of course she was a great dancer, and one of the most beautiful women ever to grace the screen. She's riveting in this song.
They asked Rita how she kept that dress up, her reply, " two very good reasons."
adoro este filme Gilda, Rita Hayworth ...ela é eterna!!! Divina!
Now I understand why she's an icon
THIS IS IT smooth criminal POW!!
