    Well done Jack. What about showing us the locked diff assembly and why not use a LSD or auto locking diff.
    I was impressed with the way you attended to father Larry at the recent Phillip Island historics meet. You made sure he was strapped in and ready to go well before time all before you got into your car. It was very enjoyable to see those cars in action again. Thanks for the video.

    • @perkinsengineering
      @perkinsengineering  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Deane. We covered off the build of our diff ratios quite extensively on our Facebook and Instagram. The diffs are “locked” through a spool and those rules were implemented in 1993. Detroit Lockers and other diffs have been sampled over the years but V8Supercars stuck with the spool.

    Hi Jack. So when you say that the differential is a Ford 9 inch, do you mean that is the size with the diff housing and parts made by Harrop etc or is the differential an actual unit made by Ford?

    Hi
    I'm really enjoying this type of video
    I'm surprised that you use such high ratio diffs 3.7 is the highest available for my MG Midget and I'm using a 4.5 for sprint and hillclimbs
    is the gearbox gearing very low?

    • @perkinsengineering
      @perkinsengineering  Před 2 lety +1

      Gear ratios were controlled. 3.7 shortest ratio, Bathurst was 3.25 and then 3.15

    You barely mentioned the "Camber Wedge". Am i to assume that the alloy block houses a wheel bearing and the faces of said block are wedge shaped inducing camber into the rear wheels . and that the axle has a hefty cv joint next to the wheel bearing??? C'mon more detail please. What about unsprung weight?
