I think these are truly monuments of humanity. Poetically, they illustrate the best and worse in us. What we are at our best - the architecture, paint work, care and dedication of the monks and sisters. What we want to be - parables of saints, prayer and tall arches. What we are at our worst - some idiot in 1848 climbed 6 meters and scribbled his name on the wall.

@@NASAE-wt1ec I'm in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Known as "Motor City" because Ford, Chrysler, & GM all have their headquarters here and all the cars used to be made here in the 1900's. Not anymore. Now all we have is drugs, addiction, crime, and homelessness. Every other house/building is burned down. It's dangerous & ugly. I wish I was in Romania!!
