    I'm doing over a grand a week in a rigid, however it's central London based. Tomorrow's pick up is Tower Bridge, ( Production and audio equipment) John Henry's studio today, Truck driving in Central London is intense though, top tip imho. I always drive in Central London with the radio off and Windows down, 20 mph limit so not as if windy. You need all your senses is my point, good luck and take your time.

    Totally agree on the first 2 years gaining experience being the hardest. Yes you have to be realistic and understand you won't be on top dollar right away but if you find a good agency you won't be skint either. If on agency be keen with clients, they'll ask for back by name. The work/life balance is important too. It's no good having £60k just to pay a divorce lawyer and child support when your Mrs has had enough. Plus as much as I'm addicted to trucks I'm the first to say you need time away from it to chill out and be yourself.

    The funny bit about “if you are a single then do tramper because there’s a money” but then lucky if can get a tramper job which doesn’t extend beyond Friday. Just Monday to Friday will be perfect for a single person and from Friday evening until Sunday morning to go out and grind for a decent chick who understands my commitment to driving.

      @@truckitprayle Thats true what you've stated as money is not great to begin with but...if I look at it as I am being paid to train, my course, test and pcv is all paid for which is like £6,000 or more then its a smart choice as after like you have stated in a few of your videos that I've stumbled across after 2yrs I'll go from 25k - 30k to earning the above average wage and be on 3.5k a month.

    Nice video m8 however, earnings as an hgv class 1 60k+ is just an fairytale on the web. In the real time, you'll never ever get this money and that's a fact. You'll be always somewhere between 28-33k annually and as a trumper round 40k max. The companies now days don't want to pay a decent wages as an hgv so don't bother. If ya work in any foreign chain supermarket as a stock loader, you'll earn even more. I get my C-E license, spend fortune and after 6 years of trucking stuck on 30k. On the Internet, there's plenty of trucking job offers with, but you'll hardly get someoneto reply. Now I working steady as a forklift operator with 42k. No hassle, weekends always home, plenty of family time. Sorry, just saying to others.

    • @truckitprayle
      @truckitprayle  Před měsícem

      Thats fair enough mate, i think it really does depend on where in the country you are i have had several jobs down this way 40k+ and would be alot more if tramping.
      It's definitely got harder since they had a big push to get more people into the industry and now the competition is higher for jobs.
