    Three light taps with a rubber mallet and the whole bar and and weights came out. Can't imagine why anyone would want to waste time and fight with the metal clips. Took about an hour to install both sides and they look great. Glad I went with the Barkbusters. I enjoy your videos, keep going!

    Ok. I’ve looked at your video, as I was a bit worried with removing the bar ends.
    I watched some other instructions, but yours really works easy. I managed to get both of them out in two or three minutes.

    Hi Andrew,since watching this vid when it was originally released I've been considering getting a set to replace my SW motech guards which to be honest are useless in a fall.It was always going to be my next purchase after the slipon Exhaust.As it was raining today I took a trip to eBay and got a set of Storms; your vid is undoubtedly going to make my life alot easier so thanks again ! I'm just hoping they won't interfere with my Puig aftermarket screen but if they do I'll just reinstate the Honda original.All the best .Richard (Bristol Honda CBX 2017)

      Hi Richard, you won’t be disappointed in the Barkbusters, proving themselves very worthwhile on my bike! Pleased the fitting video will be useful, my 2019 doesn’t have issue with steering lock and screen as it has a 19- version that fits perfect, but have heard some earlier models it did cause some issues although I understand you can fix the this by using spacers on the screen…Rally Raid do some at about £17 Anyhow, keep me posted when you do get them fitted, regards Andrew ps. Rainy days and eBay are dangerous to your wealth 😂

    • @richardfews2113

      Hi Andrew, so the bars are fitted and I followed your process which worked fine.I think BB have improved the fitting arrangements since the 2017 model which was a bit of a pain with the positioning of my heated grips controller.( mine have a lot less flexibility in respect of the connection of the main “L bar “ to the handle bar connection) and our course Honda have changed the cockpit/ handlebar set up. Unfortunately they didn’t work with the Puig tourer screen or the OEM screen without RR spacers but even then the bars touch the screen but only on max lock.Although not a massive issue I think I will go to eBay again and get longer bolts and spacers.I did have problems with the throttle bar end.When tightened to the prescribed torque the throttle would stick open but I just had to play around with it.Other than these items I am pleased with the end result and they are a much improved over the GIvi plastic guards.All the best Richard

    Hi camper biker I'm from Australia I've got a 2020 500x in white colour I really don't know why you have to take the whole bar end weigh's out when all I had to do was just unscrew the end off fit the bark buster's and put black end weight back on but needed to get a longer screw for each end of bar.

    • @thecampingbiker791
      @thecampingbiker791  Před 3 lety

      Hi David, there was some confusion with which Barkbuster fitting to get when I was looking as there were two versions listed available for my 19 model, the first turned out to be an older version which was actually a universal fitting, and the 2nd was a specific 19 onwards version which was the one I choose. Didn’t think about sticking with original internals/bar end just following Barkbuster instructions (other than using quicker way to remove internals 😂) and they have fitted perfectly with no adverse effect. Personally if something is specifically designed to fit I’d usually just use the new parts but I’ve kept original bits to refit if I ever decided to do so. Sounds like your way has worked well and if doing again I’d have a look at that...always good to have options 👍🏻

      Hi Michel, it’s actually a Drift Ghost XL camera holder on the accessory bar but unfortunately it never worked well there because of vibration on the bar. I’ve spent a lot of time moving the camera mount in different locations and have now found the best front facing locations are having a RAM mount in the mirror upright bar (sounds strange but much more stable than accessory bar) and on the top of the front mudguard, again very stable! I tried everything with the accessory bar but it just didn’t work well…the GoPro probably has a better stabilisation than the Drift, but unfortunately just didn’t work for me. I finally came to the Rally Raid one as previous message which has worked perfectly being very firm and holds the Sat Nav closer in to the bar…..very much worth the money and as perfect as can be….hope all that explains, regards Andrew

    • @thecampingbiker791
      @thecampingbiker791  Před 3 lety

      Hi Brad, how are things across the ‘pond’ hope you’re keeping well. Fitting the Barkbusters has made no difference to any vibration on the bars, you do get some slight vibes at about 6k revs bit that’s normal with this bike and I have grip puppies on (in truth i only fitted them because I had them lying around) Although you do take the Honda bar end weights off, the replacement Barkbuster kit has bar end weights built in and I assume with the year/model specific kit (2019 for me) the weight is the same! The only real difference is that the Honda bar internals have rubber anti vibration washers and Barkbusters don’t, however the Barkbusters had a gradual sleeving which worked well. I’ve now done a few thousand miles and dropped the bike partially onto them on a trail ride and they are as solid as the day I fitted them! Best wishes, Andrew 👍🏻

    • @bradb2514
      @bradb2514 Před 3 lety

      That’s great news. Glad to hear any vibes on the bike are only normal. Hopefully the vibe is tolerable. Is it just “at” the 6k rpm mark or fully anywhere beyond that? I may have asked before but I’m not sure what the rev range is for the bike on the highway say at 60-70 mph? Yes, I really like the Barkbusters product. My wife has them on her BMW G310GS and they’ve been “tested” a couple times! No issues save for plastic scrapes on the covers. Which can be trimmed and polished smooth again, by the way. We are doing well here, thanks! Cheers!

      @@bradb2514the vibrations are only very slight at 6k and don’t seem to last much above, the bike is comfortable at 60-75mph with extra grunt to overtake. I normally travel at about 70 to 75mph on our motorways and don’t feel the vibrations, and have had some long journeys! It would do higher speeds and most I’ve been up to was 90mph but with it being a relatively light bike it can get pushed about a little in higher winds. Those GS310s seem a great little bike 😆 👍🏻

    Good video. I just find that the logo is obnoxious tbh ‐ like a lot of aftermarket moto accessories.

    Ok you make life too difficult for yourself. Simply leave the inner weights inside and go get a countersunk M6 60 screw to fit the stock inner weight. Then using the new screw, the guard and the weight and single spacer the job is done in 1 minute. Don't over think this simple installation.

      Thanks Kevin, that’s brilliant timing as I’m going to be fitting some to a new NX500 I’ve recently bought…cheers 👍🏻
