Nice, no-nonsense instructions. Very well done.
;)
I know right she gave the best instructions and actually probably one of my favorite little snacks if I'm like hungry can I want something that's kind of salty or if I'm in the mood for a salad good comment
Shoutout to any adult from 2021 trying to figure out how to make these.
Legit!😂
Howd y’all’s turn out? I’m about to make some 😅
@@ItscharliebabyXD In the oven right now
Anyone make these yet? Need results 🤣
@@BakerBunz They'll be perfect. Pumpkins seeds are low difficulty. step by step to perfection. 😁
Pumpkin seeds float.. put them in a colander in a bowl full of water. they separate from the strings much quicker and you can skim them off the top. Try it.
evolvingn2 cool tip. thanks!
evolvingn2 ok
Haha yeah I found that out last night. I had the seeds from 5 pumpkins and it took me about 3 hours the way she was doing it and I only got halfway done. Found that trick out, and the second half only took me an hour
I did that last night and I worked so well
evolvingn2 yeah that's what I did
Thank you for sharing, we, Chinese always pan fry them. When done. mix some salt with 2 spoons of water and pour into the hot pan and fry until dries up. That's the Chinese way to make Pumpkin seeds.
that’s how I do it!!!
Got a different recipe the other day. Boil in salted water. Let air-dry. Roast. Put salt on.
This actually makes more sense, the pumpkin seeds end up awfully oily if you just roast them in olive oil.
In India .fry rice wth pumpkin seeds.
I'm going to try this way, I've never had roasted pumpkin seeds before or pumpkin... but we're in lockdown again in Ireland, so may as well try something new... and I hate waste 🙃
Thank you! We just carved our pumpkin and my 3 year old son and I wanted to roast the seeds. Your video was simple, helpful and well made! My 3 year old son said to add that he loves you :)
He’s 11 now wow time moves fast also this is very wholesome
I also wanted to say that I love how clear you were in making this video
I know right she did a good job
The tips for the seasoning you can use garlic powder, cayenne, sugar, salt, thyme, rosemary, and a little bit of black pepper ☺️
I tried them and LOVED them. Will defintely tray again! :)
I wanted mention a quick tip; boiling the seeds with salt for ten minutes before drying them. They turned out amazingly crunchy!!
Introduce brown sugar cinnamon ginger and nutmeg to the seed mixture for some yummy caramelized pumpkin seed treats!
Yummy!! 👍
😲 Wow what an awesome idea! Thanks!
Sounds like those would be delicious, were about to try that out thanks
Ooo I've never thought about that before. Sounds yummers. I'll have to give that a try.
Oh wow 👌 thank you
I've been roasting pumpkin seeds for years. Such a delish snack. My kids say that Fall is officially here when they smell them roasting. Oh and you don't need to shell the seeds, just pop them in your mouth as is!
is there an easy way to shell them though?
Lol I didnt even know people shelled them until right now
Do you still roast & eat pumpkin seeds and how is it possible to eat with the shell, is it safe?
Please let me know because I want to give it a try......
@@vishnudanraj2570
I don't like how they taste with the shells.
Where i live they would laugh at u for eatimg them with the shell and its kinda a disrespect😂 just open them with your teeth its really really simple
I have it with breakfast healthy Multi grain pumpkin seed cereal mixed with banana and berries...
After I rinsed the pumpkin seeds and air dried them, I put coconut oil and pink salt on the seeds and it tuned out awesome.
I tried this with few more spices (like ; garlic powder, pepper, ) last week and my kids loved it so much. It came out crunchy and tested like chips . What a great idea to keep kids away from junk .
thanks for the simple recipe, and thank you for not dragging the video out too long
Thank you so much for this easy explanation! Gonna make this tonight! :D
When I'm separating the seeds from the stringy stuff I put everything into a bowl and fill it up with cold water. Then I stir a bit and dip the stuff up and down into the water and all the seeds will float up! Easy to fish out with your palms or a strainer, and it's a really quick way to do it! :)
Good girl! Lots of personality together with the great pumpkin seeds. Keep up the noble work.
Thank you for saying that the seeds need to be dry ! Bless thank you 🙏
This is my go-to refresher video for roasted pumpkin seeds every year. I make them in one cup batches at a time in my toaster oven almost exactly to her recipe. I set mine at 300 for 10 minutes because I don't like them too overcooked but make them with different concoctions of different spices. Thank you for your video and simple delicious recipe.
We always soaked in salt water for an hour, then drained, and roasted that way at 350º until they browned.
11 years later dis still good
I like leaving the pulp on the seeds, when they are done you have an extra sweet and chewy snack. 😋
I will now try this, thank you so much for your clear instructions. I have grown 13 pumkins and will soon be trying out roasting the seeds and the puree.
Who’s here cuz you just murdered your pumpkin 2020.
Same
Me lol, i did it right now!! its my break time but now i have to get back to school!

Hi Dani! This is the second Halloween season I have used your easy-to-follow recipe for roasting pumpkin seeds!! In the past, I have used other recipes, and they have never turned out super delicious and crunchy like this! Thank you for sharing your love for clean and delicious cooking and eating! :)
+Jennifer Kolodsick Awesome! We jut carved pumpkins last night - so I'll be making mine tonight. so glad you enjoy this one!
I loved this. I made a batch with Tajin seasoning and some lime juice. Try it sometime!:)
Now, that sounds good. I never thought about using taking and lime juice.
Did you add the lime juice before or after placing them in the oven?
Iv just found you and this is brilliant, no time wasting with too much chat, just quick and detailed instructions plus additional health info
I am trying to roast pumpkin seeds for the first time and I found your video. I am one the first step of drying out the seeds. I will let you know how it turns out. I subscribed to your page since I happen to have a couple of butternut squash and wanted to try your recipe.
I love pumpkin seeds! My mom used to toast them when I was a kid. They are perfect with just a little salt. Mmmmm! 😋
Since you asked what other people have done, I use normal pumpkins. I try leaving some pulp, I think it adds a bit more flavor during the roasting process. Also, I usually don't use the air dry technique. I start the process right after I dig them out of a pumpkin (super fresh.) By hand, I'll mix the seeds with the seasoning and a dash of oil in a bowl ...Cumin, salt, pepper, basil and surprisingly a small squirt of lemon which adds a nice touch. If you want extra spice add a pinch of chili powder. All the baking techniques you demonstrated are very similar to what I do. Baking sheet, oil, etc. I actually like to mix them around every 10 minutes. Therefore it takes more time to roast. And I use 400 temp on a convectional oven.
However, this upcoming autumn I intend to try new techniques. Yours will be will be one of them! They look delicious! Subscribed
Your seasoning sounds delicious! I will have to give that a try ;)
God bless you, sister. That recipe really helps.
I just make the pumpkin seeds in my airfryer I made it with adobo and lemon pepper spicy it was good I m eating it now thank you for share this video god bless
Dani, I really like your videos, simple, easy, neat and tiny and not wasting the time for useless info. Good job and thank you again.
I roast these seeds from a chinese pumpkin (kobucha squash) and eat them every night on a bowl of cottage cheese with honey...good balance of sweet, salty and crunchy
First time ever, didn't know how to carve a pumpkin. I've done it, hopefully its correct. I took out the shreds and seeds. I was surprised how super easy the seeds detached. As a child my cousin & I used to wash honeydew seeds. They're a pain. I thought this was too. WRONG. I use different seeds in my homemade breads. Pumpkin seeds my fav. So I was messaging this girl feom Facebook. She said have you ever roasted them? I was like whaaaaaaaa, as in washed, dried and in oven? She said yes, mix whatever your fav spices are, sprinkle mix & roast. I said forget that, I'll just roast and snack on them. Yours is the first video I clicked on. I'm hooked thanks. 😊😊😊😊👌👌👌👌
Great advice. Thanks. I add some Tony Chachere’s. Dat makes everything betta!
I'll be carving 3 pumpkins tomorrow, thank you I feel better I wont waste the seeds.
I like to put my pumpkin seeds in a salt bath overnight it seasons them very well all the way threw. This added step makes the process take longer but the end result is better.
Thanks a lot.. I bought pumpkins for the 1st time today to make a recipe. I had no clue hot to make the puree and less that I can use that I can use the seeds. With your videos for puree and seeds I'll have the perfect recipes.. Thanks a lot
I will be sure to keep this in mind!
Thank you for your channel Dani. My name is Eric and my wife and I will be ABSOLUTELY sure to enjoy many of your recipes. These all look wonderful and I may finally get her to eat squash! ;)
Thanks Dani! I was wondering about all those other squash seeds I have been putting in my compost. It's good to know that you can roast and eat them too. Thanks so much!
These were great! Thank you. I added salt, pepper, garlic powder and cumin.
LOVE your videos... thank you for making this video. I shared it on my website this week!
You're welcome! And thank you for sharing :) xo
I roast the seeds, then grind them up to add to the mash of my Pumpkin Ale when I'm brewing that beer. I also add the whole pumpkin after I have roasted it in the oven for a few hours! delicious!
Thanks so much! YES... I eat the WHOLE thing too.
Thank you, I carved two pumpkins and I wanted to do something with the seeds, and this was quick and easy
I do pretty much the same recipe but brush with butter about 10 minutes before they are done. What can I say, I live in the South! ;-)
Looks great. When I make mine, I toss in E.V.O.O. and season with seasoned salt (season all). They come out perfect.
No need for oil. Soak in salt water for 30 minutes prior to drying. Roast 325 for 25 minutes.
I figured the oil would make them greasy. I want pumpkin seeds like store bought.
Sigh. Wish I had not used oil.

Finally a video about pumpkin seeds!!
Don't forget to save a few seeds to plant next year.
I'm the youngest in a family of 10 from Africa. My mom used to make us pumpkins all the time since it was the cheapest, most convenient food in our garden. Needless to say I hated them. Now that I'm older I'm learning the benefits of orange colored fruits and vegetables. I introducing my daughter to pumpkin now and she likes it in a stew. I'll try roasting the seeds and see how she likes them. Thanks so much for sharing
Trying this recipe right now! I hope it's delicious!
How was it??
Clean & Delicious they were AMAZING! I ate all of them from a small pumpkin. 😍 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Hello
Thank you for helping to make pumpkin seeds
Oh, Dani, I miss to ask a question - is the shell of the seed edible after the oven? I've never tried it before yet.
Thank you so much it's the first time ever that I'm learning about this seed and the good ness it do for your body now I'm sorry for all the yrs I've thrown away the seeds cos of not knowing the goodness of it thank you so much for the teaching and enjoy a blessed day
Sound delish... I'll have to give that a try.
I usually wash them and then the final rinse is in salt water, that way when they’re dry you can actually roast then on a pan over a stove top. But I didn’t do the salt water this time, so I searched for this, and the oil is something that never crossed my mind to adhere the seasoning. Thank you, great idea!!!
I do it the same way you showed it on your video. I rather keep it simple :)
Exactly! Who doesn't love a two-for-one?
Oooohhhh... I love 5-spice. I'll have to try that!
They turned out great. I like to mix one cup of seeds with a taco, chili, or other seasoning mix. its quick and easy and the kids love them.
OMG you are one of the cutest people I've ever seen. Thumbs up to you!!

Haven't done this since grade school. Thank you for your recipe.

Great Recipe! Here's my recipe for making roasted pumpkin seeds as a Gen-Xer in 1979.
1. Buy large pumpkins. Dad will pay for the heaviest pumpkin you can carry.
2. Make Jack-lantern unsupervised, be sure to use any/all knives in kitchen
3. Collect seeds from all of your siblings pumpkin carvings
4. Wash and soak in salt water for 12-24 hours, or 30 minutes if you're only 8 years old.
5. Put on a roasting pan with, no oil, because, again, you're 8.
6. Put in oven (at 350° , because everything in the 80s was cooked at 350°)
7. Watch 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown' for the 5th year in a row.
8. Forget about Pumpkin seeds being roasted,... because Snoopy.
(Commercial Break- When i bite into a York Peppermint Patty, etc, etc, etc)
9. Smell something burning.
10. Run to kitchen. Pull sheet pan of burnt pumpkin seeds out of oven.
11. Eat the 25% of pumpkin seed that are not black.
12. Enjoy!
😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks for the laugh smh.
100% A÷ You have amazing talent!!! ( I teach lit and writing, so take my compliment seriously).
It's really good when you put cinnamon sugar on them
save a couple and plant them next year!!!
I’m weird. I pick the stringy stuff out but don’t rinse the seeds a lot because so like the flavor the pumpkin leaves behind. But I do the same recipe, otherwise!
You are not alone , I feel that way too 😆.. I feel bad washing these seeds for flavour as well :)
These were the best seeds I have made yet. Thanks for the air drying technique!!!
im roasting sum right now and i like to eat them.
Lucky I checked this out as I've just put them straight into the oven without drying them. I did wonder about it. No damage done. Phew!
For non-US viewers 350F = 176.7C (say 180)
Following day - Applied the oil with salt an pepper then popped them in the oven (180C) . Forgot how much time was needed so having got distracted AGAIN came back here to check by which time they'd had about 20 maybe more minutes in the oven. The oven doesn't heat evenly so I ended up with dark brown and light brown seeds but they are delicious and taste like pork crackling. I will definitely try this again!
You actually dont need to get rid of the goop, the big hunks of pulp you probably should but the slickness of the seeds is good not bad
+Lps ForeverFantasy Yes, yes, my thought exactly. Nature's slick!!!!!!! Keep it on!
Yes, i buy the raw pumpkin seeds. I roast them all the time with both olive and avocado oil and pink salt. The store bought roasted seeds generally come with a less desirable oil like soybean. After they come out of oven, I spread out on paper towel to soak up any excess oil ... then store in small mason jars with the white screw top lids vs metal lids. The small jars are ideal to pack in purse, etc for snack.
Great advice for roasting. But please Dani, as you rinse, catch the water in an extra bowl. Take it out to the yard or garden. Conserve, conserve.
Great suggestion. I do this as much as possible.
Good idea!
Wtf?
Leon Madison exactly

Thank you!! This really helped and my pumpkin seeds taste amazing.
there realy good
First time trying pumpkin seeds. Roasting them now. My mother in law recommended it. Video helps a lot!
they should be DRY DRY DRY, people!
I love roasted pumpkin seeds! This is my favorite to use when making roasted pumpkin seeds!
Olivia Carey :)
Can you stock seeds and bake in big batches? If can, how to keep the fresh seed?
Onpu June store in an air tight container in a cool dry place.
Thanks for the video!
I live in a warm and sunny environment, so I dry the seeds outside for a few days before baking them.
With the pumpkin, I stuffed it with duck, leeks, celery, garlic, thyme and sage...oh, and cream. I put in the oven and bake until yummy.
Wow! That sounds amazing!

Thanksfor the great how to recipes that you have made. They are short, easy & too the point. Making them so easy to follow. It makes me cringe when I think about all those seeds from winter squashes that I've tossed into the trash over many years.

I’m using this video to help me make roasted lupine seeds. It’s very key to soak them in salt water first and let them dry out again before roasting. The salt water trick is what makes them edible.
Chew them thoroughly or you'll be in for a rough morning
i just made these and cooked at 400 degrees and watched so they would not get too brown. came out fabulous! my mistake in years past is that i did not let dry out overnight...thank you!
Do you eat the shell?
Yang Hyoni I do.
Cook til crispy, soft shells are not pleasant to eat.
Hyoni Co yes the shell is basically the whole seed
YES - eat the shell!

Hi...This year was my first time carving a pumpkin with my daughter... Meaning taking everything out since we just usually paint a small/medium pumpkin, but this year we went BIG and my boyfriend was telling me how his mom used to make these...So I said why not and Ooommmggg I followed your recipe and they came out great...They taste better than the ones they sell at the store...Thank you...
You say 350 degrees but your description says 400 degrees.
Cary Gray I set my temp at 375° and take them out between 10-15 min, just have to keep an eye on them and wait until they're a golden color
TYler Vandall I found three recipes and all had different temps. So I just chose 325. I accidentally forgot about them and they cooked much longer than the recipe said. But it turned out great. I think they cooked for about 30 min. I was able to crack them open easily. I've been standing at my kitchen counter eating the seeds and watching CZcams videos. MUST. STOP. AND. START. THE. DAY! Ha!
Thank You for this healthy naturally nutritious way to cook pumpkin seeds! Delicious!
