I mean I know you can only beat the teams in front of you, but England made a chore of playing against some very weak opponents.
In the meantime, Spain beat Italy, Germany and France all of whom are probably better than England.

We have the players to play fast passing attacking football but Southgate insists on being very defensive. Spain were EASILY the best team of the tournament, followed by Germany. We played poorly most of the tournament and just got lucky in the quarter and semi-finals. Best team won in the end.
If you a real fan,you will support your team,even if they lost. England will never stand alone...

For a minute after the equaliser i felt England would push for a second goal but instead they went defensive and Spain really went for the kill
Always more hope than expectation. Spain were the best team on the day and in the competition as a whole. They're better to watch than the great team of 10 to 15 years ago IMO, they're more adventurous and quicker to get the ball forward.
We had one more magic moment, but couldn't find another. Winning is preferable to losing, but it's the manner of the defeat that stings. This feels different to the vast majority of tournament ending defeats. The inquest usually begins with the pundits and fans agreeing that the players aren't good enough, and the whole of English football needs changing at grass roots level as we're years behind.
It's not been like that for the last four tournaments at least. Not there yet but gone are the days when giving 100%, flying into tackles, and knocking it long for the big man were our only hope.
Ah well, It's coming, it's coming...

Spain were the best team in the tournament and we have them a decent game . Could have had extra time but never mind .Beers for consolation rather than celebrating .
One moment of carelessness cost us the match. #5 ball-watching, played on the spanish scorer and failed to intercept that ball when it was pinged in. If it weren't for our #5 Stone it would have been off-side. What was he doing?
I mumbled before the match that he'd mess it up for us. But I was thinking of a lousy pass back to Pickford being intercepted, or scoring an own goal. I wouldn't use him.

It wasn't one moment of carelessness at all. Spain deserved that win.
If you want to be more realistic you'd acknowledge that the whole game, Kyle Walker failed to acknowledge the runners behind him.
Williams and Cucurella had all the space in the world down Spains left hand side; Walker was forever looking forward and had no concept of the space they had - bad management from Southgate and the backroom team for not seeing it themselves as it was so blatantly obvious.

Spain was easily the best team of the tournament and deserved to win. I know we were underwhelming this time round, but the resilience we showed throughout the tournament was fantastic. And Southgate deserves more respect - we were doing absolutely nothing until he took over, then he consistently got us to semis and finals.
