- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2001 Nissan Frontier Supercharged. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I loved this truck. It was so fun to drive. Had the automatic transmission. Its been 10 years since the hail storm totalled it.
I’m sorry but I laughed at your comment as a person knowledge able of car repairs there no damn way your truck was totaled from hail hope you didn’t turn it over to your insurance it’s basically a scam because I look for those cars buy them fix them and re-sell them like new
I just bought one today- 2001, 3.6L V6 engine, stick shift, 4x4 with 240,000 miles for $3800. I'm the second owner, and it spent it's whole life in Napa California, right near where i live.I love it. It's my first car, I'm 15 1/2 and drive on a permit. It really is a good truck. They still make them in Mexico a a lower cost truck, they call it the Np300. Like if you google 2015 nisan np300, it's the same truck with different headlights.
Same here, I just got it tonight as a surprise. Mine is an automatic and has 150,000 miles.
Nice! I'm actually 15 as well and I'm saving up for one of these.. or the Desert Runner package if I can find one for a good price... you still think it's a good truck after having it for a while?
+james therrell it is a great truck. great gas milage with the 3.3 v6, good power, rides nice and easy to maintain. I'm about to do it's first oil change with me. I've put over 1,000 miles on it with no problems. if you want good back seats then go with the quad cab. I have the king cab like the one in the video and I can only fit my 8 year old brother back there comfortably.
Bailey Lauzon Thanks for the tip. If I can find a quad relatively cheap I'd like to get it rather than the King. After football practice kids are always trying to catch rides home so the extra seats would be good lol! Hoping to find one in the 1500-2500 dollar range if I can

I love the sound of the supercharger on this car combined with that muscular sound. pretty awesome little truck!
Dead or Alive song goes so nice with this car, especially because it has a manual trans, it looks so bauss. I'm not a truck guy, but I gotta say that this truck is really stood out to me.
2000 - 2002 nissan has build best cars ever. I'm driving a 2001 Nissan Primera Station and it runs smoothy with 1.8l 114hp after 10 years and over 100.000 kilometers. Nice review about the frontier :)

And basically a Nissan Pathfinder.
The ones from 2005 - 2020 are Pathfinder in pickup form, and the ones from 1998 - 2004 are xterra in pickup form

I love the door chime they used in these Nissans, shame they got rid of it. Reminds me of my '87 300ZX.
The only issue on these are the automatic transmission going out due to a internal leak with coolant and transmission fluid so a manual is the best way to go

Actually that's the radiator itself just get a separate transmission cooler and only certain manufacturers had that issue
Or you can just add an auxiliary transmission cooler for about 100 bucks
I remember I almost bought one of these just because of that commercial with Stone Temple Pilots' "Wicked Garden".

I want one of these trucks at some point in time in my life but I want to have a four doors and an automatic transmission but U plan on modifying the engine and transmission anyway so its doesn't really even matter I've already found myself the Eaton Supercharger I plan on using on that engine anyways it will definitely boost it too the moon and back again

the way I see it, it's better for the motor anyway, since it's supercharged, it's a high compression engine just like my 3800 S/C v6. Runs better and burns a lot hotter therefore you can get more mpg from it. I'm kinda surprised it gets 14mpg city for a compact truck this size.

I posted a video on my 2005 Nissan Frontier Pool Service truck a couple of weeks ago. That might help you, I am however not an truck expert but have done some of the maintenance myself like the brakes and spark plugs and I know just about everything that can go wrong with this truck (as many things have..). And it gets only 18 mpg - a big 270 hp V6 is the culprit.
@rockoz28ctd Something must have been horribly wrong with the truck that had a 350CI in it, the torque gets them going quick although the 4 speed autos were geared quite long.

@datpimpinboy I think cause u can rev higher while driving so the supercharger puts out more power. Or sometimes car makers think autos cant handle too much power.

true, but like I said, with premium gas...you're paying more but you're less time at the pump, but this truck is a let down...14mpg is a lot for a 3.3 when my 3.8 can do 19+

I had a 2wd s/c the worst part was when I had to get new tires only 2 manufacturers made the odd size tire on this truck. Firestone Firehawks were over $260 a piece

I have a 2003 Nissan Frontier 4 door XE base, but I can't stand the two toned panels on mine, it's red and black, but I hope to make it look like this one soon, (and maybe install a supercharger if able!) but over all it's a nice first car,
Update to my little red friend, rocky! He has had some fog lights installed on the lower part of the the front end bumper, and new hubcab badges, unfortunately the Bosch oil seal near the manifold is beginning to fail which is common in my 3.3L 6 cylinder, and oil surprisingly made its way down to the electric starter and seized it up, so a new starter was installed and a protection plastic boot was installed over it to protect it from future oil spills, Hopefully soon I can find a cheep Ford Mustang v6 near my area and get that.

David Janitschek Yup, I will have to replace the exhaust manifold seal soon though because whenever I turn the heat or ac on I smell burning oil, it’s a common issue with these trucks, they come with cheap boucsh oil seals
I have to say, All City Auto Sales has way better inventory than the used car dealers here in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, all i see at those dealers are new used, late 90's, some mid 90's and that is pretty much it
How long do the superchargers usually last.
Some people put 400k plus on the motor with the same Eaton supercharger. It can be serviced with a $70 replacement kit

16 gal. never sounded that small to until I bought a 2000 2.4l frontier that was getting only 13.5 mpg city, but still 26 highway. Only 99,000 miles on it when bought last year, changed valve cover gasket, fuel filter, spark plugs + wires, air filter. Got it back up to 15-17 ish but still not the 22 city. I think the oxygen sensors must be replaced even though they’re not throwing a code, but they are well frozen in place and it’s my daily so I haven’t fully opened that can of worms yet..

That's why. I mean, most used full sized pickups don't sell for that reason.

Nothing was wrong with that 5.7 vortec,my friend took awesome care of it.i t was the lighter weight of the ranger and the 5 speed auto trans the kept it in the sweet spot for that 4.0 liter.i was going off of 0 to 60 specs from motortrend too b4 i told him this ranger will beat you and i was right.i guess it didnt totally waste that 350 vortec but it was faster.

Here in panama the new frontier in the usa here is called nissan navara and it has only one type of engine a 2.5 diesel i like more thos ones in the usa with the petrol engine also the supercharged whistle fucking cool that truck

It kinda suprised me the features that this truck has, for a Nissan made in 2001. I like the fact that it has leather too. I just don't like the way it looks and the fact that it is not very clean.

Yeah actually, the steering column and pinions on a family members dodge b150 van was completely shot and resulted in a wobbly steering wheel all the time.
