This game sure has its issues and I wish there was a bit more features. However gameplay wise Im having so much fun. It feels great to play and the kameos add so much variety. I do hope their patches with bugs,nerfs and buffs comes out soon. Its a huge refresher each time.

I think it's pretty clear Ermac will release relatively soon, alongside Quan Chi, given they are fightable in the story mode and seem to have at least over half their kit done and ready to go. If they're ready enough to appear in the game, they should be ready enough to release in a few months
Nothing but Ermac and Quanchi's designs are done in the release game. They use only recycled moves from this game, and prior games. For example: I can't remember which, but either Ermac or Quan's throw is literally Shang's from this game. The one where he grabs you and rolls with you. All their strings are also from this game or previous games

Quick tip for all the new players. If someone does a string that gives them frame advantage then bait it and just dodge it backwards and hit them with your own combo.
Recently got into the fighting genre after buying MK11 and Injustice 2 on sale. My kid tells me I’m addicted and told me to check out Jev. He’s one of the few down to earth CZcamsrs that is just a “ average joe” so thanks for keeping me want to play wether I’m kicking or getting my ass handed to me.
I hate how some characters need so much resources to do barely enough damage, while some don’t need any at all, they either need to nerf the better characters down or buff all the lower ones up. Depends how they want the meta to be

You said it just like me Jev, story characters should be part of the base roster. I'm still annoyed that Shang Tsung was a pre-order bonus like Shao Khan in MK11. Quan Chi and Ermac are fights in the base story yet they are DLC. Takeda also showed up in the story mode but was in a cutscene. From what I can see, Ermac uses animations from Noob Saibot from MK11 so he most likely wasn't ready yet for the game, but that opens up a different issue. If these characters weren't ready, they should've delayed the game to add at least Quan Chi and Ermac to the base roster and have the DLC characters be people that have nothing to do with the story. I also think not having Kano, Sonya, and Jax bring down the roster a bit but it looks like they got replaced by some of the returning characters like Li Mei kind of being Jax/Jacqui.
Couldnt agree more. I really shouldn't have to dash cancel at 80ms or higher after 2 blocked mids in order to get a low high mixup on Smoke. Whereas someone like johnny or havik can low high mix during a string. Sub zero could do with some buffs, nitara shouldnt need that low HP when her moves cost HP as well & smoke should have a knockup that isn't 3,2 or down 2.
If this helps on the timeline of when DLC characters are coming out, the trailer shows a text at the end saying “Homelander available Spring 2024” and he was last to show in trailer.
sub zero is actually pretty decent, he can combo for 30% and combo off of low and overhead attacks and his 50/50 mixups help out, if your opponent guesses wrong thats 2 combos in a row.
Cross play is one of the most hardest things too get done for a video game because you have to get permission from rival companies to agree to it so when I hear game developers saying cross play won’t be at launch I respect it
Knowing every character in the Kombat Pack is like a throwback to FighterZ Season 2 where they revealed Gogeta and Broly as the last two characters at the very start of the season. That wait was painful
street fighter has a system in place where the supers do a minimum amount of damage to prevent the exact problem sub zero (and the rest of the game) has
I think sub zero suffers towards the top bc of the low damage. But it’s so easy to get people frozen and to get full combos on people from mid to lower tiers. I think the fact that people get frozen, and he gets to do a full combo without being able to block is overlooked, and they just focus on the damage
sub zero may be dooky but reptile is similar and yet you still see both being played a lot online. Sub still has a 50/50 which can be safe with kameos and his control with clone and iceball make him decent. He definitely needs to be played smart but thats good. Hopefully they can tweak him but i guess we'll find out.
I think they really need to change how chip damage works in this game. I no flawless block exist but as much chip damage as you take it would be nice if you could regain that health back if you lose from chip damage. Maybe if you land a hit within a certain time after blocking
There is another issue with subzero corner combos the input for specials is reversed when doing jump combos after the two overheads if you do back 2 into back 2 then jump 2.1 into ice clone in the corner itll throw an iceball

Kameo’s unlock by leveling your profile up. Skins are unlocked or purchased by invasions, leveling your characters, the shrine, the seasonal shop, the premium shop, and Kombat League.
Honestly Stryker is my favorite kameo is kinda busted allowing you to reset your combo 2 times and causes a small stagger on his arrest did a combo with Raiden and him that took a whole health bar in about one whole combo it was amazing I suggest people check him out he's great with people like Reiko and honestly any character he can find a reset with and do wild damage
theres a movie coming, its gonna be released regularly, they need to drop a character soon anyway, its not a lot of content they can drip, and december is here so more sales.. chill
I love Sub-Zero bruh, he’s fun and simple to play and I’m decent at being aggressive with him and my defense is decent as well, I just gotta learn all the characters moves fr. I beat a good Kenshi player early on in my KL games, he did win the set tho ngl but I was still new to Sub and the only gameplay I’ve seen of Kenshi was from one vid with Sonicfox, I was kinda surprised how I blocked all his combinations of moves it was clean
I love this game, I've been playing every single mortal kombat that has come out since I was a kid on the ps2 with deception and this is easily one of the best of all time, I wish there was more kontent and I wish invasions was better and holy shit I cant start a private king of the hill to save my life, it needs some real optimization fixes.
An update to Invasion mode for MK 1 12/14/23 which took 2 hours. Online for 1 hour only to go back off offline again for 2 hours for them to fix things I'm assuming. The players have been inconvenienced today alone for 4 + hours cause NRS is so inept & can't do their job correctly the first time which is why I always laugh when I hear people say how wonderful NRS is. It must be thrilling to live in that level of denial.
Hey, a little off-topic here, but how easy did you find yourself learning and getting into MK1? I haven't played MK since UMK3 for the SNES back in the day, and I still consider myself novice at best. I'm mainly coming from a Street Fighter perspective.
This game is imo ions better than 11 and it feels soooo satisfying to land combos and learn. I just finished playing with shao and it’s just really fun. And I agree they did sub zero so dirty in this game. My favorite right now is Baraka. But reiko is also really fun to play
This is one of the few times were I think a live service approach is better for a game. This game has really good bones but with consistent updates it could be one of the best fighting games of all time.
3:35 idk ab you guys I was on Xbox one s and had a crossplay filter option. I always left it on and was got other platforms for opponents pretty often. Same story when I switched to PS5🤷🏽♂️
I feel like the thing about the fighting game community is that a lot of ppl try to compare netherrealm studios to other companies like Bandai namco and Capcom. Nerherrealm has a release schedule given to them by WB of like 3-4 year of post game launch support then the next game is announced. Capcom and Bandi Namco don’t necessarily have that problem. SF5 came out almost 7 years ago and street fighter 6 came out earlier this year. Tekken 8 comes out next year and the last tekken came out in Japan in 2015, almost 10 years. So the fact that Netherrealm has to release games every 4 years and ends up having some bugs, that are in no way In the game in purpose, and people getting upset and comparing them to the top video game companies in unfair. It’s headways better than MK11 and with TIME, it could be close to MKX. The game has technically been officially out for like 10 days, so everyone just needs to chill.

its probably a feature. not a bug its skill based punishment like so many games have nowadays apparently it improves player retention for garbage and average players, and the top 10% of nerds have to deal with it or get even better Even the last CoD has this with increases in aim assist, footstep sound etc.
But if we start changes bc ppl want high damage character to be easier to use just bc they are hard to play is a one way ticket to game being shit with balancing issues.

Ermac is end of January early February, he also has an Invasions season coming with him. 1 character per Invasion season, apparently.
Biggest problem it has is you can't use DLC offline. Shang is locked out when disconnected from the servers.

This weird bug happened in UMK3 ank MKT back in the day. Player one had the advantage in some cases, with moves and hits.
