Personally, I found that cyrax helps sub get a little bit more damage out of his combos and works well with the corner pressure. Really want to utilize that enhanced dive kick.

bro I've been working on subzero and got two different corner combos to deal over 300 damage. I like to use the dive kick or a simple launch and then y combo to push them into the corner either deals like 190 to 221 I'm dogshit at using cameos though I don't use them like I should be
Hey all sub zeros mains I just found a combo with sub zero that does 360 damage is safe starter doesn’t need meter and pushes your opponent into the corner if you start from the middle of the fighting stage in one single combo

6:38 when he's blocking mid, there should be an extension where instead of just doing your forward 1 2 you do forward 1 2 3 and it adds a low to mix up the opponent like a mid starter of your 3 4 move. it also might not be as safe as 3 4 but there's always the high low mix for sub doing a 4 4 which may give more damage if it hits. just to throw a few things out there to see if they help :)

your combo game and understanding of neutral is very good for your level of play u do just panic in situations you don't understand like when someone does a string and "mashes" d1. there is a lot of tech in the game such as jailing, micro ducking, grab teching, staggering and more. At 8:03 he's using sareena assist after the knives get sent out u can duck which is letting go of block and holding down and on the way back they will miss because they are high attacks. U do have a lot of potential and passion for the game so i believe u can get far

@@LuciferMoringstar999 I do apologize for this being so long but advice for you would be to use the in-game tutorials. They may be boring but MK has really stepped it up and actually teaches you a lot in there.
Another thing is just watching high level matches, especially ones that use the character you want to use, or watching guides by high level players on YT.
My last bit of advice is just Practice and learn combos on CZcams and get them to a point where you’re consistent. Practice mode also has a lot more utility than just a dummy to beat on. There are guides out there that go in depth on all the things practice mode can do.
Hey Jev! Not sure if you plan on playing a LOT of Zero, but he's been my main since release and I've learned a lot about him! If you want a taste of what he can actually do damage wise, try (with Sonya kameo), B2,B2,J12>K,J222 does 356, more than lots of other combos I've seen.

Hitting frozen opponents do significantly less damage on hit
Watching a Jev training arc with a pro to get tournament ready would be hella dope
Watching your sub zero is more entertaining because everything on this character you out play or earn. Those bait into hitting ice clones and play around the clones look so clean
Jev the idea u had with having a pro mk player teach u how to everything in the game is something you shpuld genuinely do. That would be absolute peak mk jev content.
Jev, you can duck the sareena projectiles, you can just poke them if your point blank and reset the pressure, block the first two projectiles and just release block and just duck normally and do a poke
Sub-Zero is a tactical fighter at Short to mid-range more short than mid you have to pre-plan your moves and essentially set up traps and look for the holes or gaps where people make mistakes you're on the right path. Also use the ice ball and close the distance right after you shoot. Sub-Zero is a fighter that relies heavily on his abilities and catch targets off-guard.
Just a tip, after the first knock up its better to go up in the air and do a triangle down for the next knockup then you can go back to using backwards square lmao, itll add a little more strings to the combo without using meter.
Idk why but ever since MK11, I love watching Jev play Sub-Zero, and still kicking ass

Honestly the best thing to do if you want to get better is watch other professionals play your character and observe and analyze all of their decisions. And you only get better by playing in-game consistently. Learning open windows and understanding every character is crucial for mortal kombat. Looking forward to seeing improvement 🤟🖤

Hey Jev I just found out today you can do a 360 damage combo with sub zero is safe doesn’t need meter and pushes your opponent into the corner if you ayer in the middle of the fighting stage in one single combo I try it online also and you can punish people with it

This video and Jevs reasoning is what my conclusion also came to with Subzero, being a subzero main from MKX and MK11 I had to switch off to Baraka because I don’t do enough dmg with him anymore
Jev i think sub zero has some nice aerial combos maybe you should incorporate them
The only reason Sub is so unpopular is because of how low his damage is even with his strongest Kameo's like Sareena and Sonya.
His kit itself is pretty good, especially in the corner. The reason he isn't seen often is because despite his good kit, he doesn't do nearly as much damage as someone like Raiden, Baraka, or even Scorpion.

One thing id recommend working on, is hit confirming.. you can go into practing mode and set you enemies block to auto, if you hit, do your full combo, if its blocked go into ice clone. I promise youll see the results. Get used to hit confirming.

When it comes to Sereena you can duck under the last two projectiles and connect a down 3 or punish another way if you time it

Hey Jev, I'm a Sub-Zero main, and I use Sonya with him. Sonya and Jax both compliment Sub well, but I like Sonya more. When you go to do the back 2 twice, you should be jumping forward and hitting the aerial 2, 1 in combination with Sonya's aerial and then jumping again doing the aerial 1, 2 and then chaining into the slide

I find sub zeros aerial down hit with the mace is a really good juggle should try it jev
After doing double b2 trying hitting them in the air with f12. It bounces them to the ground and allows you to hit them with f12 into the slide
pros I definitely recommend watching are Foxy Grampa, Rewind and sonic fox. You won’t go wrong watching any other pros. And the best advice to improve better is to play against to better players while limiting the mistakes you make and that’s when you’ll start understanding what’s punishable and what you just have to block. (In my opinion)

Jev why don’t you use Sonya, use two back 2s then jump and use your 2, 1, send in Sonya with R1/RB and do the down back 4 but enhance it and see what happens.
If you use Sonya as a kameo you can turn the lil slide kick knock up thing you use a lot into a full combo
I seen celeb city use sub zero and smash radian. Just practice using SZ & you’ll do fine
Under Serena’s projectiles you can neutral duck them (duck without blocking) and you can low poke
Also with frost try f12 or f21 and activate forward frost. If they are blocking high frost will freeze them so it is a free combo. Sub is my main
The back 34 is a launcher and you can get a free combo with Sonya’s cameo. Also after the back 2 back 2 you can jump for a 12 and then ground 12 then bf3. Also make sure to use the kick in the air amplified.
Scorpion is a very good character to learn neutral and punishes because he has pretty much no mix ups but can punish really hard

After your double back 2’s you are missing the jump 1,2 to get the bounce up into your normal forward 1,2 slide… would get 30% more consistently with that. Also, other Kameo’s can get you over 30-35% with one bar. You can use Sonya or Sareena. Hope this helps for a little more Sub-Zero damage output!
I have 2 combos for you jev midscreen combo is B2 B2 J21 F12 ice slide that will get you 309% meterless and corner combo is the same but when you do F12 you do ice clone into 4 ice slide that will give 330

If you want someone like subzero who does more damage, smoke is a pretty good option. Also utilize that air enhanced diving slide more often on sub zero.
Yea the damage with some characters is crazy. I was playing a raiden and from one hit confirm 50% shit was insane
im so confused why no air combos, you can get a bounce from one of his air strings and get more damage
After those to overheads, you should add a jump and then the dive for more damage, you'd be able to get at least 30%, as far as i know the dive is the attack that scales the most, so you'd have to leave that one for the last

Sub is hod teir apart from damage. You need cameos that juggle so you can extend off of lows. Then you can do 25s to 30s every touch. He relies highly on cameos and juggling air combos
Try using other kameos like sonya to extend the combos and even if its still not a lot of damage you can still get 33 on confirming forward 1,2

Sub was really really good in the beta, but on release day 1 patch he got several nerfs including a big damage nerf, and I believe his mid string got slowed down from 12 frames to 15. The start up that is. He’s probably like B tier now maybe bottom of A tier.
I'd say you're generally correct that if nobody uses a character at the highest level, then the character isn't good. However, in Apex Legends, Seer was absolutely the best legend in the game and it took a year before you saw him in pro leagues. Bangalore went untouched in ALCS, and only just recently becoming a staple in a lot of teams. Fuse, who has a very low pick rate, is just now becoming more popular in ALCS.

Big tip for everyone who is fighting against sareena with her boomerang that extend the combo do not block just crouch and punish your enemy with a jab or sweep. That attack she is using is a high
if you enhance your ground freeze it’ll combo for more you can to x y or square triangle ground freeze ex then do your combo it should be 40%
if you want to hit some people up for teaching, my biggest rec would be someone like Super. He's really knowledgeable about all the mk's and he's got a really good personality. You could def make a little collab video with him and it would be great.
I've been grinding out sub in kombat league he's definitely somewhat of a keep away character and his overhead low mix falls off higher level, I try to use his 2,1,2 string as a pseudo mix up either following through with the string or using ice slide and sometimes I throw frosts low freeze in there aswell. But you should stagger his f1 try backdash and wife punish then start following through when they realise you keep back dashing. I'm sure someone will find some tech in the near future that elevates him just gotta grind him out

Jev if u use frost with sub it does less damage the ice take damage away if the character is frozen multiple times in a combo
