    Enjoyed this video! Bufords have caught me so many pike last season, and indeed the hackles and crystal flash have big merit to it but the erratic action of the Buford often saved the day: up, down, left, right .. like working a jerkbait

    Just a little tip from my side buddy! Use the bottom half of a pen when you're reverse tying bucktail! Makes a great reverse tool!

    Very nice work. Beautiful fly! Do you typically use a sinking line? Do you ever incorporate lead wire on these flys?

      Thank you for watching! Yes, I mostly fish these flys on a sinking line. I don’t use much less wire on them at all unless I want to keel the hook ( make it swim hook point down ). The way I do that is to wrap about 4 or 5 turns on the bend of the hook and then coat with UV resin to prevent slippage. Super glue works fine for this also.
