Thought I share my experience taking the ACFT 3.0. You can follow me on Instagram @halfrightfaceproductions Below is a link to the ACFT official website for all the latest news and content www.army.mil/acft/
keep the push-ups sit-ups run. U know 60 push-ups 10 times during a day mon-fri for a month will make u bench press 300 freaking LBS. I know because i learnt this in the Army & did this in my civilian life. got up to doing 60 pushups and did 10 sets a day for a month & bench pressed 300 LBS at the end of the month... I took a hit of weed after ever set of push ups and called it the Pot-Head Push-Up. Get Ripped!
Good to see the test in the wild at another unit. Our unit much more strictly graded push ups and leg tucks, but unit/grader variance is nothing new and this test won't change that. Will be interesting to see how the test continues to mutate
This is good to see. Very detailed. And I have always only been in competition with myself. As long as I pass, I'm pleased. I don't care about one-upping the next person. At the end of the day, the only person you need to be better than is yourself. But that's just my unpopular opinion.
Just took a diagnostic ACFT today (I’m in the Guard). It was more challenging in some areas but overall not bad. Way more fun and less stressful than APFT lol. I felt like I was just doing PRT at a schoolhouse on TDY or something. I’m fit and workout 3-4x a week. But I rarely do the specific ACFT exercises so the SDC was tough (finished that event under 2min however with about 75% effort). The rest was relatively easy. Now that I’ve taken it, it’s a relief and the Army could maybe tweak the scoring but I think they should keep it - or a close variant of it.
Coming back after IRR for a year and being broken enough I get VA ratings (I had a permanent profile). Somehow they let me back in with minimal screening. It's like initial basic training and profile recovery combined. So I am out of shape AND I have injuries that impede my ability to get in shape expediently. Ugh
Took my first Diagnostic ACFT today. Hardest part is definitely the sprint, drag, carry. Any tips on not exhausting yourself during the drag would be great.
Start slow end fast. Also, the only reason why I maxed mine is because I thought to myself that if I do it quick, I won't have to experence the pain longer. It's funny but it works.
So i havent been lifting weights and im too weak from 200lbs and the 100lbs so am i gonna fail it alrdy? 😬🥺 or does the army bct let you lift weights or train from it
The deadlift and leg tucks look to be the most excruciating imo. The medicine ball throw seems to be the only sigh of relief lol. I plan on enlisting this fall btw.
I took a diagnostic ACFT at my unit today, I have not exercised in months, and I easily passed it. I think it’s a joke. Really easy to pass, considering I haven’t even prepared for it at all. A few people literally walked during the sprint drag carry, and they still passed it.
I took mine the other day. I agree that some people can walk and still pass the SDC portion. They can tweak the scoring in each event to make it more difficult but I like the events better than APFT.
@@JeffreyMontenegro yes. Easy to pass, hard to max. That sprint drag carry will get your knees shaking literally lol. It’s hard for females that are like 5’1, but if you’re 5’8 like me, it was pretty easy.
Why settle on just passing it? I switched from the USMC to the Army and noticed that almost everyone settles on just passing unlike the corps were everyone wants that 1st class high score, I get weird looks for wanting to lift 345, I don't know guess there's no benefit in maxing out.
Joining in your mid 30s? Guard told me to drop weight I'll be good to go. Weight isn't dropping fast like it did when I first joined. Not sure the best approach 🤔
Hello, 1st be sure its not a medical or medicinal reason for slow weight loss. No stress/worry weight... 2nd get an accountability partner You know Army HT/WT regulation is tough on both men and women. You can be fit and bust tape, you can be curvy and bust tape. Its unfair but they working on making changes. So if you are naturally husky or naturally build heavier than your peers your age and can't help that... I think its unfair especially if you can prove you're capable of meeting physical fitness standards. Always lose weight healthy and as comfortable as possible. What may not work for one person may work for you! Next here are my suggestions hope something work for you: Try Keto or track your daily calorie intake Try walking 3-4 times a week twice a week make sure its walking at incline *walking is a great way to burn fat if you make it a healthy routine* Do planks or bike great way to sweat Track your health journey and question your own lifestyle: Do you consume Alcohol? Do you get enough rest in the day? How often do you consume foods high in sugar? (Many foods we eat turn to sugar)
shit is dumb af it makes no sense. It's a waste of money! Take the relay away, go back to the standard push-up, keep the leg tuck, and keep the run. Duh!
Have you taken the ACFT? Comment below on your thoughts, I'm interested what other Soldiers think.
I like the idea of it. I just think the Army could have done a better job preparing for it.

I wish the ACFT happened a long time ago.
I have loved it since it went "public" as the ACRT in Mar2017... when it was hard.
I like it just the ball throws sucks.
Thanks for doing this. This is great encouragement for everyone.
Awesome video by a great NCO! Way to embrace change and do well with 20 years in the Army.
I knew a Christopher hehemann....long time ago on the battlefield.
This was a good video it really helps with what to expect.

Heeeeyyy Camp Humphreys 💪🏽
Awesomeness
I’m planning to go into AROTC and then dental school and hopefully be active duty in the army Dental Corps

Try to incorporate running backwards so that your hamstrings and calves are properly conditioned. Because most 'hit the wall' right after that part.
I hate this shit so bad
Suck in as much air as possible during!Incorporate farmer carries into your workouts to get use to moving while carrying a lot of weight.
Don’t give 100% on the initial sprint. Run at a semi fast pace and then give 100% on the rest
Start slow end fast. Also, the only reason why I maxed mine is because I thought to myself that if I do it quick, I won't have to experence the pain longer. It's funny but it works.
when he said what's going on with your arm right now . ROFL . I was like yes! stop that distraction lol.

Dont underestimate the medicine ball throw either. Its more technique than anything

I thought the push-up came after the ball throw and then sprint drag carry
Pretty good for an old guy😘 Still looking Great Son!!!!❤
I HEARD PEOPLE TALKING SPANISH YESSIRR
wait ...you can swing legs like that on the pull ups, and you don't have to bring chin over the bar!?
Thats not pull ups its called leg tucks ita for your abs
I want to PCs to Lewis 😂
Gotta work on the *form* of those push-ups
Anyone know what test they are doing for OSUT?
ACFT
@@HalfRightFaceProductions thanks for letting me know.
@@AmorFatiMementoMori he didn’t tell you anything bruh 😂😂
I thought we aren’t allowed to lift our feet for the Toss
Oh naw. You can do a little jump just to get some leverage, but you just can’t fall to the ground afterwards
Is this near the 2ID field?
Yes
I do not know who the graders are, but I encourage those "certified" graders need to read ATP 7-22.01.
Y'all have to do PT tests in masks? Dang I bet that sucks
