Yeah, I agree..his striking is definitely not great..he leads with his chin and is devoid of any real defense. But he's willing to rush forward and brawl, and taken hits to land hits, and that really can take a fighter a long way. It won't get him a championship belt, but it does make him exciting to watch.
@@dougsjourney9961 yeah, that kinda surprised me to be honest. Hes definitely got a strong chin. That will only last a fighter for so long tho. Chuck Liddell had a seriously strong chin at one point. A little too strong for his own good. He didn't protect like he should have because he felt like he didn't need to. Later in his career tho he was being KO'd by hits he would have eaten with no problem in his prime. Had he protected his chin more in his prime, it may have stayed strong for him alot longer than it did.
His striking is similar to Johnny Walker, in the sense he is always fighting in the offensive. and allows his defence to fall to the wayside. If we see him out an emphasis on his defence and focus more on his output. I believe he would be an alright striker.
but his defense is his strongest ability? the fact we see him banging is all part of who he is. You're right his striking isn't the best but it puts in work. He has a chin of gold and his submissions are sublime.
If he were to focus on "Textbook" defense, he would lose all the excitement. Theres 100s of martial artists with Textbook techniques that just come off as a lot less entertaining. Once you go textbook, you lose your identity and style.

Paddy is like an old school brawler who sets up absolutely nothing, swings wildly, and has no real defense to speak of. He just starts throwing whatever at his opponent and hopes for the best. He'll be a regional champ in England fighting no names like he always has. That's where he belongs
100% possible. Look at Justin Gaethje, after years and years of brawling he adjusted and became less reckless. From then on he got massively more dangerous
He has no proper striking roots. More so learned from training at a MMA Gym. I hope he takes his defense and boxing a little more seriously to fine tune his upper body. His legs and knees are decent nonetheless.
Say what you want about his striking but Paddy has chin made out of freekin stone. He definitely would benefit from being more tactical in his movement that would set him up to throw less & connect power shots more efficiently. Never really liked him but there’s no denying he’s a warrior, if he focuses on fighting IQ over brawling it would take him to the next level.

I don’t understand how Paddy at 28 and a pro fighter has so many technical flaws. I think he does not respect the process - getting fat not training ect ( likable guy though)
He literally throws the punches incorrectly. I mean that is a fact. There is an objective reality here. I don’t get why you guys turn this into some ego thing. Objectively - his jabs crosses and pretty much everything he does on the feet is incorrect. He is tough and creative but yes his technique is shockingly sloppy.
*1. Luigi is underrated. 2. Paddy leg buckled because of the inside leg kick (which most missed), not the punch.* Does he have the cleanest striking? No. He has a lot to improve, but he’s still young and has dangerous submissions. He needs to crisp up his striking.
I think everyone is overlooking Jordan Twerkitt. I think this is a split decision waiting to happen. Twerkitt is super slick on the ground and I think it's very even. Faddy has more dynamic striking (for a lack of a better term) but it's more of the "I'm not scared to get taken down so I go crazy" kinda striking. So if it plays out on the feet then yeah Faddy should win but if Twerkitt is able to get the fight to the ground it will show us who's better at what they both do best and that's submissions and ground and pound or in Twerkitt's case pound on the ground 😂

I've always noticed that he keeps his hands low and chin up as he attacks or shifts inwards for a reaction. He's clearly been caught in nearly every fight and it's only a matter of time before some shuts his lights out. As he moves up the ranks his competition increases along with their skills and fight IQ. Eventually he's gonna run into a someone that's gonna capitalize on his flaws (as his lower level opponents already have) except it's going to executed flawlessly and at an elite level. Ain't coming back from that once it happens unless he makes changes and fast

I been telling people man, Paddy isn’t as good as what people are making him out to be. If he wasn’t a brash, entertaining personality nobody would give a bollocks about him nearly as much as they do.
He’s a solid grappler, great submissions but his striking is very average. Even Vargas (who was put in there to lose) dropped him his last fight. Paddy gets dropped and rocked a fair bit, he’s tough but he is fairly chinny. Both Vargas and Luigi cracked him good, but he finds a way to win which you can’t not respect.

@@dougsjourney9961 yeah, that kinda surprised me to be honest. Hes definitely got a strong chin. That will only last a fighter for so long tho. Chuck Liddell had a seriously strong chin at one point.
Big difference is Johnny walker doesn’t have a chin
