  • This is one of the very first safety shots in 8-ball that anyone ever showed me, and it has paid off in SEVERAL Wins over the years. If you win out in a safety battle and get ball-in-hand, make sure you know how to FINISH em! Very easy to execute. Very high-yield stuff here, let me know what you think!

      Might not come up every rack… but when the situation presents itself, it hurts to watch it thrown away 😭😭😭
      Thanks for watching!!

    That's a pretty good idea. That happens all the time. If you plan for it, game winner

      Brett, I can’t tell you how many racks ive seen won with this safety, seriously.
      ESPECIALLY, in the SL-4/5 range. If you see that on the table, just find a ball-in-hand opportunity 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

    The first leave on the 🎱 looked like something that I would do! 😄 The cueball would have been kissing the 8 though.

      Its the dagger, for sure man. Its the reason you fight for ball-in-hand in order to execute it and finish em 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

    2:05 - Would you play that same shot/defense vs a sl 6/7?

    • @drewvonporte
      @drewvonporte  Před 3 měsíci

      100%… but you gotta freeze the cue ball to the object ball better than what I did against Santa 😅

      @@drewvonporte Think you're referring to the shot during your match and not what I think it what you set up afterwards.

      @@excxmoody at 2:05, if my only ball left is frozen to the 8 like that? Yes, I still shoot this and try to freeze it to the 8.
      Its in a spot on the table, they’ll likely need a bridge and make it weird. And if I *could* Id try and get the 8ball in the way (like try my very best to have the 8ball come all the way back and get weird).
      But I’m still learning 🤷🏻‍♂️ what would you do?

      @@drewvonporte If it were me...with BIH...hitting the 3 into the same rail the 14 is on...allowing the CB to drift just a little forward taking away both the two rail + 1 rail that options that are on both sides of the table. Reason being...if I freeze on the 3 and push the 8 to the short rail...there's multiple kicks + position on the 8...plus there's a kick safe (intentional or luck). Just feel like that not only leaves the 3/8 close but also aside from what else I mention...takes away 50% intentional/luck. However, the 3 has to come off far enough to block the kick path.

      @@excxmoody that does sound like a much safer shot… Im gonna set that up and see if its within my ability! You do mean to move the 3 and now hide behind the 8 instead im assuming?
      This sounds a higher skill version of a BIH automatic shot with your last ball tied up 🤔🤔
