So glad to see “A Whole New World” as number 1! Aladdin was the first movie my husband and I watched together in the theater over 30 years ago as newly dating teenagers. That song has been with us ever since. ❤

I ❤ the Regina Bell and Peabo Bryson version. It's part of the reason it was able to win Adult Contemporary category and be the first Disney song to stay on the modern charts.

I was unashamedly Belle, being a bookish daddy's girl myself who wanted adventure. I would in fact often declare "I want adventure in the great wide somewhere."
Im Belle too, I love books and want adventes and Im also the little merimaid and Snow White fair skin and dark hair.
People say Meg is an honorary princess but in Greek mythology she is the princess of Thebes. So she is royalty technically.
By that logic, Hades is neutral and Herc is a bastard son of Zeus and Alcmene and Hera is the villain.
@@vetarlittorf1807 yes. It’s annoying how much Disney disneyfied Hercules but I used the movie when I taught my 6th graders Rick Riordan’s book, The Lightning Thief. It was great to show how stories develop and how things are changed to fit characterization. We reviewed the 12 labors of Hercules from mythology and how they’re presented in the movie. It was such a great unit. I miss teaching. Sorry to be boring. Retirement is not always the best.

no matter wich one is number one, there will always be people who think another song should be number one. I miss beauty and the beast in this list too but then, I dont know some of the songs because I havent seen all the movies. I dont know the newer movies. so yeah. I think a whole new world is a beatifull song and one of the best. with colors of the wind and beauty and the beast and part of that world. and what about can you feel the love tonight and circle of life? for example. there are so many great songs.

"Almost There" and the whole Princess & The Frog movie is so underrated!!!
I think honestly that it may be my favourite Disney movie!!!
My favorite I-want-song is probably Waiting on a Miracle because it feels so genuine. Mirabel just spits out all her emotions that no one else would care to hear. Not to mention how smoothly it transitions into her song. It comes at a moment when she is emotionally isolated. It works so well in the context of the movie and still manages to be super relatable to people with feel overshadowed or useless, for example.
And her I want song doesn’t even play out as intended for her! She thought she wanted a gift, but she really only wanted to make her family happy! It has you think that Mirabel will get a gift by the end of the movie; such a great subversion!
"Let it go" still so amazing and so great , i still remember how this song was the biggest hit , Frozen is a masterpiece

I think it is a shame that "Love Will Find a Way" from Lion King II Simba's Pride wasn't included (though five freaking Frozen songs were, not that I'm counting). It may be from a D2V sequel, but it's still a fantastic love song between Kovu and Kiara. Glad to see Anastasia getting some credit though. That movie was one of my all time favourites growing up, and one of the biggest reasons for that was the soundtrack, of which I have downloaded all of the songs onto my phone. "Journey to the Past", "Once Upon a December", "(If I Can Learn to Do It) You Can Learn to Do It", In the Dark of the Night", "The Key to Her Heart", "Rumour in St. Petersburg"... all of them earwormy hits that are just AWESOME to belt out.
Love Will Find a Way is SO GOOD, one of my all-time favorite Disney songs.

Tbh, I've had this super hyperfixation on Princess and the Frog, so the songs from that movie had been living in my head rent free, LOL. Though mostly Friends on the Other Side, Down By the Bayou, and Dig a Little Deeper.
Also, can we just take note at how the mother's immediately saying "I want some grandkids!" like she wants Tiana to get busy NOW, lol. Dang, woman, not everyone has time! :P
I can't believe Some Day My Prince Wil Come is 20 it is such an incredible Jazz staple.

I think Into the Unknown deserves more than an honorable mention. It’s sassy yet full of longing, serious yet tropey. It’s so self aware and so haunting. It’s unpredictable with its key changes, just like its place in the plot. And that sequence of four notes… the fact that it’s four of them is symbolic.

Fun fact: Stephanie Beatriz recorded "Waiting on a Miracle" while actively in labor. She didn't want to worry anyone, so she kept the recording appointment, got it done, and then finished her labor. She's a badass.

Hercules is so underrated all the songs are brilliant so is the story and the fact that Meg started the craze of Disney girls not being helpless damsels, yes Hercules ends up rescuing her she’s isn’t waiting to be recused she tries on her own. I’m also glad they didn’t do the original idea that the Spice Girls be the muses.
#5 is one of my all time favorites. I loved it as a kid and it’s even more relatable as an adult. Especially a divorcee.
