Paul always looks like he’s having the time of his life, it’s hella adorable
Agreed, Jimmie! "Paul always looks like he’s having the time of his life, it’s hella adorable"
Ikr he's a literal five year old in the body of a grown man and it's great
Ikr I love him sooo much
The boys were sweating buckets in this song.
Jiminie couldn't agree more
Love the way John points at Paul like "it's your turn to sing."
He does that also on the Shea Stadium performance of this song, Greg.
And Paul is probably thinking to himself "I know John, I got this".
Gregory Wheless I said the exact same thing! Great minds think alike! :-D
coz in an interview john said he couldnt reach the note, only Paul can
Plus, they probably needed physical signals cuz the audience were so loud. Ringo would watch Paul bouncing to stay in rhythm cuz he couldn’t hear
After 58 years, this song still goes off!!
Its better than anything put out today. Imagine that ;-) Actually all their songs are better than EVERYTHING out today!

And chasing them as they are leaving.
I lived through the Beatles and no words could ever convey to those not around then what these days were like - even to say it was a global revolution doesn't come close to doing the Beatles and these amazing times in the 60s justice. The excitement was off the scale. I'm 72 now and nothing from then till now can match those days.
Have you seen them on stage? I went to boarding school in 1978 and wanted to learn the guitar. There was a music room with one music book from the Beatles. I used to stare at it as I never had a guitar so could not practice.
Wish i was a young adult in the 60s 🥲
Nothing does I envy being able to be alive then
I am 74 and saw the Beatles in Melbourne. Yes, there was a lot of screaming, but what a concert to remember. Very lucky being alive during that period. It was incredible excitement.

Sometimes I wish that I had a time machine so I can go to a Beatles concert
People always assume it’s easy to watch a band or artist in concert with a time machine. You’ve also got to find a ticket, which wasn’t easy in those days without the internet, especially for a Beatles concert, and how are you going to pay for it? You don’t have any old money, (Ok, you might have a coin or two but I’m talking about enough money) so presumably, you'd have to work for it, meaning you'd either have to find an odd job to do (British for a cash-in-hand job, like painting a wall in a house for someone, for example) or actually become employed in a real job, and how are you going to do that without any experience on your CV? You cant use your current experience, because that’s experience from what would be in that time, the future, so you're trying to find employment with a blank CV. Now, of course that’s possible but not easy; that is, if you don’t go down the finding an odd job route. All these things people don’t consider...
he does not need to pay lol

It's incredible how short a lot of their songs were. They fit everything in 2.5 mins and didn't need any more. Even Eleanor Rigby is only 2 mins.
Thank you, i had not ever considered how long the songs are. CJ x
Pop radio of that time pretty much demanded a playing time not to exceed 2 1/2 minutes (and usually under 2 minutes). It was only late in the 60's and early 70's that AOR (Album Oriented Rock) stations started playing longer versions of songs from albums (the 'single' versions were almost always abridged versions for AM airplay).
@@Mr62Lincoln That's a good point but I still think it's exceptional the amount of ideas the average Beatles song contained within that framework, like the three different sections of Happiness Is a Warm Gun.

I think Paul really enjoyed being a Beatle more than the other three. He was deeply depressed and drinking heavily after their break-up. Linda deserved a lot of credit for helping him out of it, so I've heard. Without Paul, there would be no "Sergeant Pepper", Magical Mystery Tour" and"Abbey Road", to name a few.
Yes, his perfectionism and heavy handedness in the studio was well documented. But after Brian Epstein died, no one else stepped up to take the lead. Finally, everything just imploded. But he was truly dedicated to the band until it was clear they couldn't work together anymore.
I agree with what you said. Paul said he was depressed and drinking heavily for a couple of years after The Beatles broke up, yet he still made McCartney and Ram. He's still playing 2 & 1/2 hour concerts today. Also, he was right about Allen Klein being a crook. He played the most instruments and had the best vocals in the group, too. Also, Paul has always maintained that without the 4 of them they wouldn't have become The Beatles. He's truly respectful of their legacy, as well. Take care and Peace!
Paul couldn't imagine his life without the Beatles at the time, while John and George practically only imagined it without them. Paul was really a "team player". His solo career spanning more than fifty years is a certainty of this. It doesn't even come close musically. It is also true that he was the most skilled in terms of both singing and playing instruments, but he was far behind John in terms of charisma and individuality (although he was also the handsome boy, the favorite of young girls). And the latter are almost more important factors in art.
John was the major brilliance in the Beatles As talented as Paul,George and Ringo were,it was John's writing and singing that was the driving force behind the Beatles
@@blissfulbaboon Actually, it was the alchemy and synergy of all 4 members who made them what they were. I've heard many times and on many different songs that they were so tight that often they nearly "telepathically" made slight changes and adjustments on songs that they were working on. When I was young I was more of a "Lennonist," but just listening to them continue to grow and experiment with new sounds I realized that all of them "were in on it." In fact, that's "the secret" to the Beatles. Being a musician myself that's what I finally figured out. I've never seen or heard such consistent versatility since. My favorite Lennon Beatles song is Dear Prudence. Ringo had quit briefly and Paul not only played melodic bass lines, but his drumming was instrumental to the flow, also. George's guitar fills were exquisite, and their multi-tracked backing vocals were spot on. Take care and Peace!
@@blissfulbaboon True.
Coming from a "not much of a Lennon fan", I'd still posit their 'Magnum Opus", had they lived to play it live,

A Hard Day's Night is a 1964 musical comedy film starring the English rock band the Beatles-John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr-during the height of Beatlemania. virtue signalling... did you know 60% of the country wanted segregegation did you know that? What is wrong with segregation? What is wrong about living amongst your own kind?

Tbh they just get better over time. I was there almost right from the beginning (Spring of '63 I was in a band in Uk, playing Shadows covers, and at the end of a gig our bass guitarist asked me, as we cleared our stuff up, 'have you heard this new group, the Beatles?' -'No' - 'you should listen to them, they're good.'). Yes, they were fantastic then, but I get even more impressed now by the feeling, the meaning, the extraordinary timing, the incredible harmonies, etc.
Wow nice story Sir. Thanks
Oh my God, you are sure one lucky man
That is cool!!
It's interesting. As the initial core of Beatles fans get older, our level of music appreciation grows and develops. We listen more to the intricate harmonies, are amazed at their ability to stay in tune while live in concert, the beautiful melodies, etc. And we find more to be amazed at by these 4 chaps from Liverpool.
damn, how old are you to have been there before they got famous?
nothing is better than new uploads from The Beatles 😍.

THE FAB FOUR ❤❤❤❤
Stunning! George's solo on that 12-string Rickenbacker was perfect
Actually I wonder if it wasn't playback ? It sounds just too accurate, and I heard that this solo, on the album, was doubled with piano and recorded slower.
@@pierre2497 Yeah, you could be right about that. They had a knack of sometimes replicating the record quite closely, but also they could be somewhat shonky. I love George's playing, but he could be ropey at times. This is just too accurate and I can hear another instrument below the guitar, as you said. He looks like he's focused and playing the right notes though lol! John really looks at one with his guitar in this video.
@@sporkfindus4777 I think it’s a soft backing track but George is still trying to play it? If you see him in the back briefly, you can see him hitting the fingering the solo although it’s low res, actually now that I read the first comment properly, he’s probably playing over a single track of the solo to get the double effect

"A Hard Day's Night"
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I feel alright
You know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it's worth it just to hear you say you're going to give me everything
So why on earth should I moan, cos when I get you alone
You know I feel OK, alright
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah

Oh how much I wish I lived through the 60s to live through this!
It was insane

Ringo hits the drums like a blacksmith , well done! Love it!
Ringo never hit an anvil
Ringo laying it down...John's voice is perfect. Hard to believe they wrote this overnight for the movie. The only time I cried over a celebrity death was Lennon.
Don’t forget George his solo was short but he KILLS IT
Does so much wit little
I still haven't gotten over it. I look at John in these songs and get really low! John...Best voice in the history of R and R
rivierarocket paul had the best voice in rock and roll. robert plant and freddie mercury are above john as well but certainly no one else
John's "mmm" 💖
@@SuperMisteryMan01 Yes and Paul playing the same solo in octave lower. On those thick bass strings!
It’s nice to see people in the audience without mobile phones recording
That was an amazing performance.
The strange thing is that John Lennon was so self-conscious about his own voice. He should *_not_* have been, on this song it is perfect!
I just edited it, you will understand why.
John's voice was beautiful. Then, from about 1966, it became very subtle. His boyish voice was wonderful. Then it changed a lot. She was always beautiful, but she was different.
I have never been able to sing the trill on "dog" and "log." For John, (R.I.P.) it was natural.
true, he had a wonderfull voice, may he rest in peace
John's voice and Paul's bass play are the two most underrated things about the Beatles.
1:15 that clap timing from the fans is amazingggg

Best live video of The Beatles, you can hear the words and music.
Nothing better than The Beatles.
NOTHING.
Amazing! But shame on the cameramen for not focusing on George during that awesome solo
Yeah I was waiting to see George during that solo...
He nailed it live, and it is tricky. Geoff Emerick reckoned he needed help from a piano filling in with the guitar on the recording, but maybe that was because he had to record it quickly without much practice.
If you hear closely, George's solo in this video is muted and replaced by the solo played in the original record.
There's another video of this song (in the same concert) in CZcams, it's called "The Beatles A Hard Day's Night Live In Paris 1965". You can hear the real solo played live, but it sounds really low. Maybe that's why they overdubbed it.
methinks the solo had some "help," in post-production. ;)
A band and song so legendarily good, live performances sound like studio remasters. Pure magic...
How the hell could someone have SO much fucking charisma. Ohhh Johnny.
1:07 Paul: TIGHTTTTTTTT!!!!!!
YEEEEAAAH!
He low key struggled
Oooouuuuuu yeeeeaaaaah!
I can't believe they didn't focus on george in *THE* guitar part. We've been robbed.

I felt the same Maria: he was the accomplished guitar player in the band - he deserved at least a token of respect in that section!
@@GlimmerOfLight Well, he did write "Something", which is one of the greatest love ballads EVER!!

John almost trips over his guitar chord but he comes back without missing a beat. A true professional!
That too when, compared to the plethora of manufactured, micro-managed pop groups / singers, The Beatles were rank amateurs.
That was a microphone cable, not guitar cord.
John almost unplugged from the 🔊🔊 he went a bit far back and almost landed 🌹💖🦋
