- We're currently recording final guitars for some new music but I had a break this morning and decided to play over Spain. The original backing track is from the Elba Triangle (Tom Quayle) - definitely check out that version! Seeing as I have one of his guitars on loan at the moment (testing some new pickups), I thought I'd give this a whirl. There are some weird note choices - but this is where I'm at with it these days haha! 😅 Hope you guys enjoy! RIP Chick Corea - the G.O.A.T.

Chick even did some experimental stuff, plus he was very good at short note playing which is harder than it looks even on guitar. I think the some of the drum beats you used on this sick solo was cool too, it made it more funky than latin like, but it works for modern fusion. This song is so fun to play and I played with a band in a music school even.
I saw Chick years ago when Al Dimeola had just joined. Let's just say, I still remember it. ❤

The first time I heard Spain back in 2009 in my senior year of high school. It made me tear up. RIP Chick.

He was just phenomenal right? I remember my dad used to have his records on during Christmas dinner when I was a kid and I was always like ‘who on earth is that?!’.
That’s a super important message. I’m gutted I never got to see Chic Corea live. I’m trying to make a point of going to see all of the other guys whenever possible - starting with Frank in a couple of weeks!
I saw a Chic
and Herbie Hancock in around 1978 or 79 when they did the two grand piano tour! Fucking phenomenal man just ridiculous! I also saw Stanley Clarke where he had Ray Gomez playing guitar for him. There's Ray up on stage with a late fifties Les paul, and Echoplex and a JTM 45! Dude I it got no finer than that in fact after he took a ride over some changes Stanley had the crowd stand up and give him an ovation saying "let's thank Ray for that beautiful solo! Stanley quite the gracious dude man! in 78 where John McLaughlin opened up for him. McLaughlin was playing that that scalloped fret ES335 of his through two Marshall stacks and was brutally loud! Loved every damn minute of it!

I think that guitar is my new favourite.
I love the GG Charvel, but this is just more natural and pleasing.
Very good. What i like the most about it is that if there was no backing track, i can hear the changes being inferred from your solo.
Sublime mate. That tone is killer. If you had to choose just one AZ Ibby what would be the best all rounder? I'm thinking about the Ice Blue 2204. Just hoping the fretwork on the Prestiges are still ad good as my 99 Prestige.

I usually use the delay in either the Fortin Cali Suite or the Archetype: Abasi and literally just set it to sync with the metronome!
