    Bobby was in DeBarge in the mid to late 80's. Bout 86 to 88. It was Bobby, Mark, Randy and James DeBarge. El was on his own, solo. They started out as "The DeBarges" with El, Bunny, Randy, Mark and James came a little later. Then El left and they dropped "THE" and called themselves simply DEBARGE. Bobby came out solo after DeBarge, not The DeBarges . Bobby was the mucical genius of the DeBarge children and the oldest boy & had the best voice of all the children. Every single DeBarge child could / can sing. There are 10 of them. They ALL have great voices and can blow

    Two older DeBarge brothers were in this group(Switch), Bobby and Tommy, but they weren’t IN the group DeBarge. They were older siblings who were in Switch, and they paved the way for their younger siblings to get a deal. Philip Ingram, brother of vocalist James Ingram, was also in Switch and he is singing the lower register vocals in this song. Bobby DeBarge is singing the falsetto parts. Bobby DeBarge and James Ingram are no longer with us, but Philip is alive and well.

      Spot on, Greg Phillganes top left, Eddie Fluellan top 3rd from left, Jody Sims bottom right (not sure on spellings for names) rounded out that extremely talented band. Two leads, great harmonies and in my opinion they were actually better musicians than singers and that's saying a mouthful. They even had the "Best beat in town".

    Bobby Debarge had the falsetto long before his little brother El. Bobby and Tommy Debarge were in Switch along with Phil Ingram, (James Ingram's brother). The group was called Switch because during shows they would switch instruments. My favorite songs were There'll Never Be and I Call Your Name. Best to see them live on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. Search for Switch - There'll Never Be (1978). The songs are more impactful when you can see them.

    OK, here's the genesis: First, there was the Jackson 5, from which Jermaine Jackson stayed behind at Motown, where he met members of Switch in an elevator, and ultimately got them signed to Motown. Switch featured James Ingram's brother, Phillp, and Tommy and Bobby DeBarge, who's younger siblings would later surface on Motown as DeBarge, from which Eldra "El" became the breakout star.

    Your voice is magnificent. 🤗
    This is my first time listening to your channel.
    Personally?... I find all the unnecessary stopping of the song more than a little bit off-putting (just to insert a quick reaction--that doesn't add a thing to the review). Doing this breaks the song's continuity--and breaks the thread of the story being told.
    The words being spoken SHOULD be the star of any listening experience.
    Let the song have its brief moment in the sun.
    Afterwards...the reviewer will have all the time in the world to display their brilliance.
    Nonetheless...I'm subscribing
    'cause I wanna support you;
    and...to watch your growth!
    Given America's current social climate, I'd like to see what someone your age would think of the Paul Simon classic,
    "American Tune". If you decide to check it out, you might wanna find one with the lyrics.
    Thanks!
