There is no such thing as affordable anymore.
It's pretty sad what they have done to the value of the dollar.
Bidenomics bb
Most people can afford 35k
@@Mycameron2323 Yeah at 9%interest on a 8 year loan. lol
😭
I like it when you guys do the entry trucks
Thank you for watching.
I agree. The pavement princess trucks with sky-high prices don't interest me at all. Cheap, basic, rugged real trucks that you're not afraid to throw stuff in the bed and take down a muddy road are where it's at.
You wont find this truck anywhere
@@TFLtruckThe Morse code says ACCESSORY READY.
100% agree!!! Those super super ultra mega equipped trucks have 20 grand worth of worthless junk!!
"TRUCK" trucks are awesome!
Crazy. I would never pay 31k plus dealer fees for that. So 34k-35k really. We've gotten so far away from what toyota really was for a basic truck. Affordable, dependable, and simple. I'd be happy if it was 24k with dealer fees.
It’s really hard to pay it when you can get a decent full size for 35k.
It’s all on Toyota for not doing anything to keep their dealerships in line. If they would just rip the band-aid off and let us order direct, I’ll gladly wait 4-8 months to pay MSRP. That, and bring a “true” single cab back.
I bought a Ram 1500 quad cab for 33k new 2022 plus dealer fees ended on 37k big horn not basic one, tacoma is over priced
No you didnt @carlosmatute4265
The video title says 4x4. It’s actually $35k plus fees and tax. So it’s $40k assuming you pay cash. If you finance it’s a lot more.
Morse Code translator - Accessory Ready. They actually had this on the old Taco as well.

Thank you. I'd love to see a trend where automotive journalists review the base model instead of the top unobtainium trim levels for most people
I absolutely agree, but unfortunately Toyota doesn't allow factory orders and nearly 0 base models will be allocated to dealers.
“Unobtanium” 😂😂😂
Fr they be reviewing the vibranium models
@@RINGSx5 And the infinity stone models. Luckily they offer options; pricing differs per stone type.
I know rite? like we havnt seen 100k trucks we cant afford. ok they are nice but this is realistic
so this base 4wd tacoma will be around $40000. out the door, doesnt sound like a good deal to me.
my 2021 was $30700 out the door with 4x4. that was msrp.
He said it is $31,500. Did I miss the part where it's $40k? I still think that's expensive.
Wait until you see the dealer markups 🤦♂️
@@iamnid 2wd small cab for 31500 with a stick shift bare of the bare bones
Average transaction price for a vehicle is like 48k now, so given that, this seems like a good value overall for about 35k
In 1986 (I know, a long time ago) I bought a 1986-1/2 Nissan Hardbody, the first of the issue. Very basic 2WD 4 cylinder, five speed standard cab and bed. No power steering, brakes or A/C. Truly a stripped base model. $6200 plus a $500 rebate. I loved that truck. Drove it from Aug 1986 until April 2000. I put 374K miles on in (only regular maintenance) until on of the con rod bearings went. That's the truck I want!
I have a 1990 bare bones like that. Still runs like a champ with only 132000 on the clock.
Had a 93 loved it. Just got a certified 22 Frontier king-cab 4x4 with 8700 out of Idaho for 27000 out door far more loaded than this plastic Tacoma.
I’ll stick to my 98 Tacoma 4x4 manual with 378k miles on it
Crazy because in 2017 I bought a brand new full size Sierra 4x4 crew cab SLT for $35,000. Fast forward a few years and a base Tacoma is about the same price. Inflation is a hard hitter
10 years ago I bought a Silverado 1500 Z71 extended cab 4wd 5.3 under $30K. In 16 traded it for a 16 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 5.3 loaded. It was $44K. It was probably the last new truck I see myself buying.
I bought a RAV 4 for 24k in 2019, now the same vehicle is 40k. Its the dealers that are causing this issue. We should be allowed to purchase directly from the manufacturer and leave out the middleman ( dealers )
Thanks, Joe.
@@danichicago9140we all knew inflation wasn’t going to stop. It’s been going on forever. But the rate of inflation in just a few years is insane
In 2015, my crew z71 4x4 slt sierra std bed stickered for $54k. The window sticker is in the glove box. My truck isn't close to being fully optioned. If you add every convenience feature such as heads up display, sunroof, and the 6.2 you were at $60k. Of course, gm was taking $10k off msrp at the time, but your pricing is off.
The mid size segment is very competitive. I opted for a 2023 Frontier Pro 4x. Got it over $4k under MSRP and 6 year 160k km warranty thrown in too.
Underrated truck. Should last a long time if you maintain it right
It’s a better value than the competition.
Keep an eye on your paint, especially on the roof and the bottoms of your doors. my 2023 Frontier S has over 4 grand in paint chip damage along the both sides, front to back, because there is something wrong with the clear coat and the bottom of my drivers door has a rust because the paint did not adhere to door and it bubbled away exposing the metal. The bottom rear quarter panels are also sand blasted down to the bare metal and are rusting as well. Both nissan and the dealer told me to basically go f myself because its a lease, just make sure I fix it before I bring it back.
@@christopher9626 What color paint? Usually, only certain paint colors are affected by durability issues.

Things have changed. I remember buying my Tacoma back in 2013.
It was a brand new 2012 base model Tacoma.
(2.7L 4cylinder, 5 speed manual)
The sticker said $21,300.00.
I got it on a red tag sale for $18,600.00.
It amazes me how much truck prices went up just in 10 to 12 years.
Ya it’s crazy.
It's not 10 to 12 years the increase happened in the last four years. I priced a new 2018 chevy 2500 4x4 in 2019 for $31,200 now they are over $50,000 in just four years.
My current daily driver is a 2013 base model, regular cab with a few color matched parts and new wheels to make it not look so cheap. I may never get rid of it as there's nothing else like it on the road today and I can't buy a similar replacement.
Before anyone points this out, yes. I just did the calculations, and that 21,300 dollar base model Tacoma becomes 28,100 dollars in 2023. The 2024 base price is 31,600. That’s not the biggest issue. Prices are rising, but wages aren’t. Albeit, mid-size truck pricing isn’t as egregious as full-size truck pricing, but still.
I remember when 35k could get you a v8 half ton, and it wasn't that long ago.
It still can....just not new. 😉
2018 a Ford F150 STX 4wd with the 2.7 ecoboost was 33k
I paid $32,600 for my brand new 2021 V8 crew cab 4x4 Titan at the start of 2022
blame the normalization of $700+ monthly car loans
@@Yeroc357 yup. Financing is what drove up prices. If you had to pay cash or had 3 year max loans car prices would be low
I own a 2022 extra cab SR. I love the Tacoma but they should not have gone away from the suicide doors on the extra cab. The doors allow for great access to behind the seat. They also eliminated the rear jump seats, which I have frequently used. You really didn’t mention this. I also have the 4 cylinder which has decades of proven reliability. That motor in your truck has a turbo which will likely not be as reliable. Not sure why they did that as it still gets the exact same gas mileage and the low 3500 tow rating. I feel that my 2022 is better than that SR.
Im looking to buy a 2023 SR, it’d be my first new car from a dealer anything you’d recommend when going in?
Yeah, they messed up by getting rid of the suicide doors! I have an 09 that I still drive! still running like new
Toyotas had some bonehead ideas in the last couple years including that God awful twin turbo v6 tundra. I guess our wicked government pushes them to come out with these stupid new engines and designs.
@@shapiroshekelberg604 seems strange for such a conservative company as Toyota ! turbos have proven not to have ultra Longevity! What was wrong with the 2.7 it’s built like a farm implement
I agree with you on the loss of the suicide doors. I'd almost consider trading for a TRD PreRunner.
This past spring I had a deposit on a 2023 SR5 Access Cab 4x4 with that bulletproof I4, but it kept getting delayed, after about a month and a half of waiting I ended up getting a TRD Sport DCSB that was on the lot.
It was about 5 grand more but overall I'm happy with it. I don't particularly care for the transmission that much but after 6 months I don't bitch as much about it's odd shifting behaviour. I wanted the Access Cab because I don't use my back seat ever, but I guess I have it "just in case" lol
It’s a joke that the price is that high….. most of your full size trucks were the same price 3 years ago hell some still are……
I could not agree more! The fact folks are acting like 31k for a base model midsized is a good deal... vehicles in general have become so damn expensive. Gotta love Bidenomics..

This spec is what many costumers as fleet owners are looking for. Unfortunately the truck trend it's to fit the most accessories as tech gimmicks to increase the selling margins.
I know right.
The Morse code, if I've read it correctly, says "Accessory Ready". So I guess it's a placeholder piece of plastic for an accessory to mount there. Not sure why they'd put Morse code there instead of just English or Japanese though.
Second the 'Accessory ready' interpretation for the morse code.
Thanks guys.
Incorrect. It means Accessory Panel.

I’d break the front spoiler on the first day.
Because you don’t know how to drive.
First thing I removed on my 22.
That would improve the appearance. lol
Gotta love new trucks that have worst ground clearance than my mustang haha. Yeah I’d remove it day one
It's to reduce drag if you do highway driving. You won't lose much, especially if you don't do a lot of highway driving but they do make them ugly for a reason, aerodynamics make a difference. Maybe in a decade when they can affordably cover the underneath of the trucks with panels and make it smooth, until then its cheaper to just block the air from getting under the ugly way.
It doesn't matter how nice it is dealers won't stock it and refuse to order one. I tried to place a factory order this summer for a SR like this one. The dealer said they had SR5's coming in and they had MANDATORY fees added to the sell price. I can't repeat on CZcams what I told them.
I could see the non opening suicide doors being a deal breaker for some. That’s like a step back to 80’s pickups and a huge oversight on Toyota. Wow.
If they are non-opening, they arent doors. So you could just say the lack of doors.
@@theninja001 sorry, the lack of opening doors on an extended cab pickup when that’s been the norm since the early 2000’s is quite perplexing.
Yeah, it's ridiculous. 2nd gen access cab ftw. Toyota does dumb shit sometimes
Yep it’s a weird decision
I am on the other side of these replies. I actually like the 2door Tacoma and would prefer this over rear-hinged doors. I am usually alone in my vehicles and I love all that extra space (covered, uncovered, and lockable.). I did think, however, that any truck that doesnt have rear seats would normally come with a front bench?? I am not a Toyota owner, but IF this truck had 3 seatbelts up front I would consider it.
The morse code means "ACCESSORY READY", great work André and love TFL!
Thanks! 🏆
Andre, I always enjoy your walk through and reviews!! Great job on this one!
Taking away the suicide rear doors is a big miss. I don't use the rear seats much, but I'm always putting dogs and gear back there that I simply couldn't lift over the front seats (and don't want anywhere near my driver's seat haha). I also need a 6ft bed, which means I'm pretty much forced away from the taco?
Xcabs all have 6 foot beds
Not a big miss at all lmao
@@allentoyokawa9068 Maybe not for your easy princess life-style, but it is a big miss for people who work or haul things in their cab.
They should’ve made the front seat slide way further forward
No kidding Really a stupid decision
Looks like I will be driving my 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacomas for a very long time
You know the times are getting crazy when the base model bare bones truck is 31K. Crazy
It blows my mind that a base model truck, with terrible payload and towing specs is now going for that much money. This thing is the same as a 2017, 2018, 2019 etc... with just a few more cosmetic "upgrades". Absolutely INSANE
The Morse code says “accessory ready” - makes sense
I like it, a lift-kit and some nice wheels, that’s it! As we say in Germany 🇩🇪 „weniger ist mehr“
Wow 31K for a base SR.
That's nearly $5,000 (!!!) more than a base model 2021 SR Taco...
Yeah Should’ve been like 24-25k
I definitely like the storage containers in the back extended cab
It's nice that those and the glove box locks.
over 30k for a 2wd pickup is absolutely wild, wish they still made cheap worker trucks like the old rangers/b2-3-4000
Dealer markups are coming to a town near you!
It has everything you need and nothing you don't!
It sure does if you're delivering auto parts!
Could use a suicide rear door so you don't have to go to the chiropractor each time you try to reach into the back. Also could use another 1k+ towing capacity so that it can compete with a 20 year old ford ranger.
Actually, my 02 Taco TRD extended cab 4x4 w/manual tranny has everything I need. Then, my 23 Tremor V-8 has everything I "think" I need. But I'd bet my Taco is still the better off-roader (maybe excluding deep snow/mud).
Morse code says, "we've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty"
😂😂😂
LOL😂
I’ll stay with my 22 Tacoma access cab 2wd for 26k. Been working great with 20k miles.
The fuel economy sucks being a 4 cyl and relatively light pick up truck. Mid size engine 2.4L. Enough power as you shown but not economical to drive. But $31k for a mid size ext cab rear wheel drive pick up truck is sky high.
Needs a turbodiesel and manual transmission. But at this point just buy a Hilux
Yes, thanks for doing the entry trim. That’s awesome.
The chin spoiler on these are just silly.
Lastly for all those who want a base model, better buy it.
Something has to change. 31k for this is a bad joke. I am tired of this type of pricing because people hate mean tweets.
Thank you for reviewing the SR! SR double cab will the the spec I'll be getting. Its refreshing seeing an entry level truck.
The MPG is interesting. Base 2wd is 20/26. That is identical to my old 2006 Tacoma base 2wd with the 2.7 and 4 speed automatic. This new base 4 cyliner turbo makes more hp and tq than the old 3.4 V6 which was rated at 17/19 in my old 2002 TRD Prerunner. That thing would barely get 16 or 17 on the highway. I suppose we've made some progress, but the increased size and weight of vehicles has held back mpg gains despite advancements in powertrain efficiency. We'll see what the hybrid does, but it may not be much as with the Tundra.
Yeah even my 2013 base model 2wd with a 5 speed has the same mpg.
it was for emissions, not the consumer. Only thing we get is the added power, but I'd take a V6 over it every time for simplicity.
@@DaddySizeIt Is a v6 really more simple than a turbo 4? You add the turbo, but remove 2 cylinders and a head gasket.
@@stephenj4937without a doubt. Turbo includes additional cooling, and oiling requirements, an intercooler, and a wastegate. Also a V6 leaves room to work on things. Turbo (and it's associated components) clutter the engine bay up and make basic repairs more time consuming
My 09 Tacoma 2.7 access cab gets 21 miles per gallon All the time without going on the highway
Andre, well done as usual. It still looks like you're driving a go-kart. Your knee was almost to the side window
So the driving position still sucks eh. Don't understand how anyone over 5'10" is comfortable in a tacoma
The Morse code on the driver’s side panel reads, “Accessory Ready”
Doug DeMuro on a video said it was accessory or fuse panel or something like that.
Damn at least $35k for base 4x4! My 2021 SR 4x4 was $30,700 out the door MRSP. Scares me to see what the basic TRD Off-roads are going to be. $45k?
Right. Welcome to our current inflation compliments of our rotting bag of oatmeal POTUS….
It is like they have come full circle to 1986 extended cab 4 cylinder turbocharged, IFS truck (37 years ago). It also had a similar looking but smaller air dam :)
I am so happy to see that toyota is still making the 2 door extended cab
Me too, but I'm not happy about not having a back door. That seems like more of a PITA than anything. I'm driving a Supercab Ranger now and I can't imagine not being able to access the back without a back door.

Alittle over $30k 💀 hopefully those rumors about the Scout compact truck are true then.
Honestly this configuration with half doors that opened for easier access to the storage bins and a hybrid for better mpg would be the way I’d want it
I can’t wait to see the Scout. Hopefully will be on my budget.
Do you mean the Stout compact truck?
@@TFLtruck yes, my bad. I couldn’t remember off the top of my head what the name was since I’ve only heard rumors 😂
Although VW bringing back the Scout would be sick!
Trucks have gotten too big and too expensive. I'm looking forward to the smaller Stout which will hopefully still offer good truck performance and a much lower price. Chances are, it'll only come as a 4-door with a tiny bed though, which doesn't suit my needs. The configuration of this Tacoma does, but the price is too high.
VW is bringing Scout back, all electric. They are building a $4b plant in Columbia, SC. Supposed to be an EV SUV & EV Truck.
Andre, as usual, it;s fun to watch you show us new trucks. One thing I noticed, you are out of breath my good man. Please take care of your health. We'd like you to stick around for a while longer.... ;-) Cheers and Happy New Year!
i actually love this review. u guys did a great job. Im a young man 26yo i want a truck as a second vehicle to have a bed. i need something cheap and base model trucks are my go to.
Great intro of base/ fleet truck.
Is there still a double cab 6 foot cab option? How much longer is it?
Rear disc brakes and rear coil springs on most models are a plus but I'd like to see the old 4.0 V6 from the 4Runner as an option. Never liked the 3.5 and turbo 4 is too complicated. It is the future and even Land Cruiser 70 has a turbo 4 diesel and auto trans option.
Great video, I really appreciate seeing a review of the normal base model. I really like the extra cab configuration. I am so tired of nearly every new truck being a giant four door crew cab and trying to imitate being an SUV.
That being said, I wish that Toyota offered an even more basic truck. I don't need all these driver assist features. I don't care about Android Auto, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, etc. Just give me a basic affordable truck that you can actually treat like a truck.
My biggest complaint is that I can't stand the infotainment and gauge cluster on this truck. I hate touch screens in vehicles, especially trucks, with a passion especially when they have barely any physical controls. Like the newer Chevy Silverado I've driven at work, Toyota has gone and pulled out all of the physical controls except for the volume knob which drives me crazy. My work truck is a 2018 F-150 and not being able to operate the touchscreen with winter gloves on is really frustrating. At least on that truck I have physical buttons for switching radio presets. I still prefer my personal 2010 F-150 with standard buttons for controlling everything over any new truck I've driven though
Damn I remember back in 2002 getting a new 2500 HD Silverado with a 6.0 V8 new for 32k. This truck is more expensive, i get inflation but goddam!!!
Hi Andrey, I love it and I would take one in that configuration. Less stuff to fix.
This base model looks great. I still have my doubts about the white paint peeling issue being fixed.
Great truck for what it is. Love that storage in this extended cab. Wish there was a door there, but of course, it would cost more. All the manufacturers should have a rear seat delete option in their larger truck extended cab versions configured with some type of lockable storage like shown here. Another one of my pet peeves with all manufacturers is that all options aren't available in anything other that the higher trim and/or 4 door models. For example, can't get the hybrid engine here. I know why they do that, but it annoys me.

Perfect for driving to the grocery store or to go play golf. Great vehicle to modify and fix up but remember that engine can't handle bigger tires, a lift, or any other added weight.
Huge tacoma fan. And I agree. Too bad. These will not run well at all, and added with those turbo charged b.s., of you add bigger tires to the equation that thing might pop lol

@@wileecoyote5749 a working man’s truck you mean. You sound like a Instagram kid. 😂😂😂
I used to think it was dumb that Tacoma didn't chase the big towing numbers, but not anymore. If you need to tow more than 6500 lbs you are going to hate doing it with a midsized. My GX470 tows 6500 and I use it to get a 6500 lb boat from the storage to the lake, but its a few miles in town. I tried to tow it on the freeway once and while it was rated to do it, the truck and I did not like it. Same reason you don't buy an F150 to tow 12k regularly, you step up to a f250. Occasionally? Go for it. Regularly? you wont like it.
And with this vehicle it would be difficult to tow a trailer with a mower on it
That’s why I tell people all the time the 2.7l engine is really all you need. Once you get over what the engine can handle the frame and suspension are pretty much over weight and things start getting pretty dicey when it’s something you’re trying to tow every day. If your just making random videos towing 6000lbs over a hill once or twice like these guys it can do it sure but even me the guy that comes into the junkyard with 1800 lbs of scrap on the Tacoma rated for 1100lbs would not want to be towing heavy in this all the time. 3500lbs is more than enough for me. Heck I got a welding trailer that’s around there in weight and I will say the 2.7l pulls it fine but you feel it a lot in the frame and suspension and they don’t change when you get the v6.
It’s the same frame and suspension with the v8 also@@scrapmanindustries
@@paulhunter9613 they make a v8 Tacoma? I knew dodge made a v8 Dakota back in the day. It was fun to drive but not really practical if you were not drag racing.

A very practical and useful review.
I’ll stick with my 2016 Frontier 4.0 for now. 165k miles and still going strong. I tow a 4000 pound camper all around northern New England without issue. Gas mileage is less than desirable. I will get another one when the time comes.
I’m not a fan of turbocharged engines, especially in trucks. The higher the rpm’s the truck needs to put out to spook up the turbo to get max power the more problems you’ll see down the road.
When it comes to a truck there is still no replacement for displacement.
Thanks for the great review, Andre! Lots of relevant information here.
At $35K, I think this is a great pricepoint. However, there are a couple detractors here. Not a crew cab for that price. Also, 3,500lbs towing is not going to cut it for a lot of people, even if it is a lifestyle truck.
I think I really prefer the looks of the new Frontier, but a big enough difference in MPG might sway me. Really looking forward to the MPG/0-60/towing showdown you guys do. Hoping to see a Colorado/Frontier/Ranger/Tacoma gauntlet. I'd like to see the real world results of the Frontier's V6 vs the turbo 4 in the Tacoma. MPG and power.
Thanks again for your hard work.
Paid under 30k brand new for a 4x4 Chevy 1500 WT in 2015 max tow is over 7500 and I’m still driving it, 35k for a mid size truck is embarrassing imo
35 k for a base tacoma is a ripoff!...........a nicely loaded tacoma will be 55k+
Thank you for reviewing a base model! Unfortunately it's all most of us afford nowadays.
In 2020 i bought 2020 SR base 4×4 Auto LBed. No back seat. No rear speakers. No visor mirrors. No hitch. Nice truck. Out the door for just under 28,000.00. i loved the 2.7. Hated it on highway as it lost mpg. Bought a 2023 trd sport bith all the bells and whistles BEFORE the 2.4 turbo happened. Now i get better MPG on highway @60mph on cruise. I do miss the 2.7. I cant lie 😂
id like to see that foldable front seat in the crew cab configuration, that would be awesome !
This is the kind of review I like to see. Great walk around and display of details. Another reason not to buy new vehicles. Too many add-ons and gadgets to go bad and cost too much to repair.. What happened to real dependable trucks without wifi, tablets, excessive sensors and systems that add on extra cost.
The reduced towing rating is very confusing. The engine isn’t detuned all that much.
it’s because of the suspension on the work truck model
@@devynbellerive6929 I think the SR5 with the access cab also has leaf springs. I guess we’ll have to see if it also has reduced towing capacity
Andre mentioned around minute 10:00 base Tacomas are missing some exhaust and cooling bits. I guess that's the main reason you don't want to tow over 3500 lbs. It's got nothing to do with suspension as leaf springs have always been present on trucks
@@engineer_alv Number of leaf springs absolutely has an impact on payload AND tow capacity
@@gnd111 it does. But we're talking about leaf springs on base Tacomas which have higher payload but 3000 lbs less towing than a loaded Tacoma with coil springs. That's why I said the leaf springs have nothing to do with the reduced towing here.
The Morse Code says ACCESSORY READY
Hi tfl, its time to update your tfl truck website, the most recent 0-60 is 2018, the most recent mpg is 2020. Id love to see how all the numbers compare side by side with the new trucks to!
I dig it!
Is it too much to ask for a manual 4x4 for under $30,000?
Apparently so.
Chevy will sell you a new midsize truck at 29k but that’s only 2WD
Maybe the rumored upcoming small truck Toyota Stout will actually be a basic truck with a manual transmission and no turbos. Probably not because that would be practical and make sense and nothing makes sense today.
That’s awesome. Old school design with no opening rear doors.
It’s not the most affordable, it is the least expensive.
least expensive😀
@@jimlahey1246thanks for the correction ✌🏼
André looks cramped with his knees up so high.. seat needs longer rails.
I like this, that inside is really kool ... be neat to see the compare of the base frontier and this ...
I love that Toyota included free snow plow for all Tacoma.
imagine if this base work tacoma would have gotten the 2.8L Turbo Diesel the Hilux or Lancruisers have, itd be the best selling pickup of its category
Easy. But at this point just get the Hilux.
31,000 should
Be the price for the 4x4
That's not even including delivery costs and taxes
My 2022 SR 4x4 was $31k out the door.
final price at dealer = 40,000 😅
why are people complaining about price when tech, engineering, and design have improved so much? this is a nice truck for base!!!!! and this is coming from someone who works minimum wage in california!
Thank you for explaining what extra cab means. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out what that extra space behind the front seats was.
I like the interior of the new Tacomas, but I’m happy with my 21 manual. Nice simple v6. Everything I need with a few nice extras.
keep it
@@davidmckibbin4440 oh, I definitely am. I’m hoping this is a forever car for me. I’ve been a Toyota fan forever, but this is the first new one I’ve had and I want to keep it in the family.
@@ztpgarage5352 dont beat it and do all the regular maintenance and it should, i stopped working in march at 72, all my trucks have been work trucks, over the years ive had 3 F150s an 85 4.9 4 speed 320000 miles, 93 4.9 5 speed 444500 miles, 2001 5.4 auto 335000 miles, at this time i have my 2013 ram 1500 hemi with 260000 miles and plan to keep it till im not allowed to drive. new cars today are just over priced bullshit.
I have 20 off road manual trans I good rid of a wrangler for this truck best move ever
@@thomasprukalski3069i have a 1995 wrangler and it doesnt go off road much we use it as a tow car behind our motorhome. wranglers are not a good daily driver, and the prices are crazy like everything else.
I bought a brand-new “bone” ( no options, manual trans. 4 cyl. not even a radio) Toyota 4x4 pickup in 1986 for $9990. Really miss those days
They were $15k when I was looking in 2012 not too bad.
I bet you don't miss your 1986 paycheck😂
Excellent review!!! 😁
Thank you for watching.
Man this looks perfect
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
Price is still ridiculous
But 4x4 four door will be 39 or 40 for the base model.
Also Aundre it seems Tiny with you in it.
The Morse code says "ACCESSORY READY"
Thank you for highlighting the base model instead of focusing on the top tier models whose prices have reached unobtainium level for a lot of us. My daily driver is a 2001 F-150 with 220k miles on the clock which I have no intention of selling anytime soon. Living here in North Carolina where rust isn’t an issue for most of us, we have the option of keeping our older vehicles on the road much longer than our rust belt friends. I find it interesting that the newer mid- size trucks have the same power and torque as if not more and as much if not more payload and towing capability as my almost 25 year old “full size “ truck. Needless to say, when the day comes that I can no longer keep my old girl on the road it will probably be replaced with one of these newer mid-size models.
Should've kept the old faithful 2.7 with that new 8 speed for affordability and durability. The 8 speed would've helped that engine out with efficiency too plus That motor has been Around ages and is probably very cheap to produce. There is a large amount of Americans who just want a cheap basic reliable truck
Roman thinks this after you get 4X4 $40,000 basic truck is affordable lol.
That truck is gonna outshine itself!!
I want one! Thanks Andre
Thank you for watching.
Thankyou Andre. As always, you bring it better than anyone else in segments like these. Question, when was the last year you could get a SR base model tacoma with manual transmission? Anyone know?
I believe it was 2017, which was the last year you could get the 2.7L/5-speed manual combo.
@@AdventuresonGardenSt Thanyou. I was looking for a SR manual, non turbo with a 6' bed and I kept being led to 2024 turbo 4 cylinder manuals.
Great job Andre
