Yes, I have high ph in my system. My sweat & skin turn my pieces yellow white in weeks. It's normal for us high fat/acid food lovers.

Do youbhave to take the stones out first?

You don't need to, you just have to make sure that is thoroughly clean before plating it, otherwise, it will be plated a bit darker, this is based on my experienced.

Some do and replace with CZ. Common robbery among low grade jewelers. Stones fall out during the process, so they hammer in cz and wont tell you.
