Why are so many indie games coming from russia?
I think it's just that we notice it more when indie games (or games in general) come from "another country" and use elements like different furniture, peope lthat speak in another language or things written in another language. I mean lots of people think that GTA and Minecraft are games made by americans. It's jsut that neither of those games specifically use things tha belong to their original country (well there are some minor oversights in GTA but not blatant mistakes).
BTW I checked and the company that made this game is based in Buffalo, NY. So much for being a Russian game. But I guess they though it added a nice touch, or maybe it's a nod to Hostel.

Hey! Here's a few tips to get you through:
1, an arrow will appear next to your wifi icon whenever you are getting tracked(aka about to get kidnapped) and then you should be quiet and turn the lights off. They stay for quite a while too, so be patient.
2, the codes are always different and on different websites so check everything.
3, a real paper list is good, sense the hackers might take your virtual notes.
4, the red page where you have to click stuff has a different pattern each time. It's annoying as hell, but just go through all the lines of symbols and eventually you'll get it.

Mark you should know; Chosen-awake or what ever the weird site you thought did nothing is called, it is actually a large puzzle to unlock the second half of the sites. You must unlock it in order to get all the codes.

Mark, you have to watch for the location arrow thing at the top right corner next to the wifi symbol. When that happens, it means that the kidnappers are locating you. So as soon as you see it, turn off the lights and stAY QUIET GODAMMIT

+Catkin840 I think, from my own experience, getting hacked can also give the kidnappers your location. That, or I've missed it while reading the pages, and we're not seeing it because Mark is cut the video for time where it appeared. I don't think he knows about the arrow.

I love how everyone keeps on talking about some arrows when the kidnappers are looking for you and I still don't see them
This is late, but the arrow doesn't always appear. There is a subtle sound cue when the kidnapper is nearby. It sounds like two footsteps on carpet. All other sound cues are red herrings.
Holy shit when you get kidnapped, this is like the only game that actually manages to make me jump somehow.

Mark a few tips for you,
1. Turn off the lights and be quiet when a location services icon shows up besides your wifi icon. Stay quiet and keep the lights off until you hear the guy speak TWICE.
2. When you get hacked as soon as you click a link from the wiki, it's not worth going to that site.
3. ChosenAwake gets you to the second wiki.

this is a really cool concept/game, and i think the beauty of it is that is not like a traditional horror game that relies on jumpscares and such for its horror. Rather, it is the pure escalating paranoia that something MIGHT be coming to get you that really sets this game apart. Sometimes, being paranoid is just as terrifying as a well done jumpscare.

@@mityakiselev you don't just "accidentally" enter the dark web, let alone as a child. No child would have the knowledge of how to make fake proxy servers, how to run the specific programs that are needed, the passcodes to enter them, etc. It's a HELL of a long process.

Mark,some tips:
1.when you see a sign(a location sign)near the wifi sign that means you're being tracked so you need to go turn the lights off and be quiet for a while cause the kidnappers outside of your house
2.the website ChosenAwake will always give you a code
Every row of these symbols has a specific button you need to press and it differs every time you play the game so you need to see which symbol is roght for each row...
If you hear a "good"sound(don't know how else to describe it)then the symbol you pressed was correct if it is a click-bad sound(again,sorry)and the site comes at the start then you have to start all over again...aka you need to find symbols for each row
3.also sometimes you have to rememer how much these guns cost or the drugs cause one site will be like a quiz and offer you 4 answers and if you answer several questions you'll get a code
4.sometimes if the site isn't available the code will be hidden in the text that says that the site isn't available

You forgot that when the lights are off and you know the kidnappers are outside you have to wait for longer than after you hear them stop talking, because they ARE tricking you.
The first time he got kidnapped in the video there wasn't a symbol next to the wifi symbol.

That's exactly correct Kaytehh. I've played the game since 1.0 and it's definitely a good idea to pay attention to sounds. The first indicator you'll have that the kidnapper is near is either footsteps around the house, chairs moving, coughing, walking on grass, the window/door being opened, and so on, even if it sounds like it's from far, far away and not a worry. The tracking symbol only turns on when the kidnapper is about to walk buy the window outside or is about to come up behind you from inside the house. The symbol itself means, "Hey, if you want to live, lights off!"
