2:30 There I just saved you 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
even though this vid was posted a while ago, it helped me now, thank you so much
This helped me out so much. Thank you, you have no idea how much trouble you saved me. I'm gonna subscribe.
I can't thank you enough dude. Honestly I was going nutts! I can now play my full ME3 with saved information
This was actually very helpful.
thank you for this video, I didn't even think of a usb drive as I still have the original xbox with those old memory card things...
I think this is what i have to do since i just bought the hdd without any transfer cables. Still works...thanks for the video.
Thanks I will be going over to a new system soon and this is very helpful! Easy enough.
:) Saving.
Thanks for this video mate- saved me a lot of bother!
I just bought a new xbox hard drive. thanks for this video man
@ SalsTavern
Mate you are a legend! I was just about to buy a cable off ebay a few seconds ago then I thought I would check youtube and here you are. Cheers buddy!
Yes very thankful I know and it sounds pretty easy but I just can't think of anything to transfer it over but thanks for video really helped make more
@cuellopolis is the USB memory fairly recent? Is the size between 1Gb and 16 Gb? Have you formated the USB memory?
@Acks2000 YES. the hard drives are different...you'll need to save from the OLD console and copy onto the NEW console
you can use any usb/ flash dive as long as it fits in the usb port in the xbox. also you will want at least an 8 GB for reasonable space to tranfer content becuase the format takes up about 1.5 - 2 GB of memory
Hey this is very helpful if I used a transfer cable I would have to delete all of my storage forms my new Xbox, so thanks again!
Thanks, mate! Really saved me some green.
Thanks i'm getting a new xbox soon and this was really helpful
great one! you helped me save all sorts of stuff.
Thanks for this tip. Appreciate it! :)
@daboi334 Yes, it will remove and paste on to the USB stick
thanks so much I thought I had download everything again to my new 360. every time I tried downloading everything they failed! Thanks again!
I believe when you transfer the data from one hard drive to the flash drive, the information from you original hard drive is erased. So the process is not really copying the information but moving it.
Not all heroes wear capes haha thank you do much i was thinking i had to buy the transfer cable you just saved me any where from 20 to like 70$
Thank you you've been a real big help
@Chris62007 yes, it transfered my profile out of the system..it does NOT copy but rather cuts it out.
@Dimmui thanks, much appreciated!
This is excellent really helped me out thanks !!!
What!
Dude i love you, almost began to panic when i didnt have enough room for my mass effect !!
thanks a lot, this video helped me a lot
The original XBox 360 HD's are easy to find at gamestop if you are wondering ( the highest ive found so far was a 60 GB)
@ProjectAKaio yes it will
@jaretrising i was trying not to move because of the camera's damned auto-focus...
Thanks this helped. but quick question. What size usb do you recommend? I have like 120GBs of stuff to transfer. I know I have to transfer some sftuff onto the usb onto the new xbox several times.
"U2 by U2" book in the cabinet haha great book!
@farleyr123 if you have to do more than 1 transfer, then it should be ok. break it up into sections.
@mikeyy1603 nope... map packs are stored to gamertag memory.. it will still be on your old xbox, but you have to re-download it to the new xbox. so your brother will still have the map pack. just not any story data, or split screen data.
@EpicDemon75 that's exactly what I did. Bought the new slim, copied over my saves and sold the old console. Good luck!
Great, thanks for the tutorial
Thanks man I will do this for what I need 👍🏼👍🏼
No problem 👍
@SalsTavern yes my usb memory is recent and it size is of 2 gb and yes i have formated the usb memory
@RossRodenTV that's true, but is it a feature only for Gold members?
thanks man worked out great!!
THANK YOU SOO MUCH, this saved me 20 bucks!
very good guide!
@Chris62007 damn, i think this happened to me but i i think i got them to work...but i forgot how to do it. if there's no reset button on the back, try just holding down the xbox button on the controller for a few extra seconds..
@cuellopolis hmmm, do u have access to another USB memory stick? A friend? just to test?
@hiynaboy yes it did. Thanks.
@LewisJones28 Marketplace remembers what you purchased and anything you've purchased can be downloaded again for free...but saved games and personal media will be lost..
@bwprh are the USB memory sticks being detected?
great video. thanks for the help.
Does doing it this way transfer everything that the data kit would, or are there some things that using a USB just wont do due to xbox rules or what ever?
@berk080789 i'm sure you could just use a portable hard drive in the same way as you can as shown in the vid, so yeah
Thnx this really helped
Very useful!!!
youre great for telling me this
@Cmunro123 From what I'm seeing (and gonna have to do) after it's on the flash drive, take out current hard drive, put in new drive, insert flash drive and copy new files in, and do this until you have them all.
Thanks for the info. I am copying my data now and didn't need to buy a cord I'd use once and have it end up in a landfill.
Thank you so much!
@alextony26 i think it's USBs only
well done, good video bud
I think what he was talking about but didn't say it is when you buy an XBox 360 Slim and you want to transfer your data from your old original XBox 360 you would use this method. The hard drives for both machines are completely different.... By the way it now impossible to buy HD's for the original 360 - Microsoft now forcing you to upgrade when your puny 20Gb fills up with game info and new content downloads.
whats cool is that it works from external hard-drive to another. I transferred content from USB to USB using the same principle
@SalsTavern ok thank you ial let you know how it goes.
Good shit dawg
@Mr2old4fun not if you're transferring the data to a slim
Andrew-yes and no. You would have to do it 512MB at the time. 001netnin- not sure exactly what your question is but you can transfer as much data as you want as long as your flash drive will hold it. You don't need two xboxs just switch hard drives.
@SalsTavern would you lose all of the data even the data that you have not collected on the usb ? cause i just want some songs from my bro in laws harddrive with it delete it or he'll still have it ?
@tooltony that's awesome!
Thank you!!!
Hey, just wondering if this is the same in the new dashboard
thanks man!
Can the drive be reformatted after use to transfer data back to if using an already in use thumb drive?
THX BRO ! You just saved me $ 30 !
@SalsTavern yea they say they have been detected but i says can not configure please use a different usb
@Arsonloke yup. It's a total pain =(
Thanks! I still have one of the old sexy looking white ones. And I love it. It's a refurb. It stays on pretty much all day every day because I'm always playing Fallout, hahaha. So I was wondering what to do if I have to get another one. Thanks!
quick question. if i transfer specific data to the new xbox, is it still on the old xbox? basically does it copy so it will be availableon both xboxs or just on the new one? thanks in advance
@SalsTavern I try this and it says *error* when trying to configure, note I do not have internet or a hard drive for the old Xbox36O
hi, quick question, do i need both the old and new consoles at the same time? say i traded up my old xbox for a slim and transfered data over to the usb, could i just transfer data to the new slim, without any problems?
Nice Video!!
How about if I would have two xbox 360 drives with data from other xboxes 360 and I would like to merge those xbox 360 drives into a new drive, is there a way to do that?
Also I do realize you said 16GBs for the usb. Is that the most it can go up to?
Okay so I want to transfer a profile with specific dlc to a new hard drive. This is because I dont have access to the profile information anymore and would like to transfer dlc as playable content for all profiles. Now my question is, would the DLC work on the new hard drive as well or would i have to transfer liscenses again?
say I have a 20gb hard drive from the 360 arcade. I have an external hard drive. can I transfer the contents to the external and then take the external and put it inside the hard drive bay on a 360S?
@recruiter88 XBOX says that only a USB memory stick will work, but nothing stopping you from trying! :)
Say I want to transfer select content from a game, can I do that, or the whole game including everything in it gets transfered?
Plus, does the saved games on the hard drive get transfered to the USB?
How do I transfer my Skyrim DLCs from my cousins 360 to my 360 Slim without the cable, or would I have to reinstall them from my friends disc, or sign in and use the codes I have for Dawnguard and Dragonborn
@SalsTavern thank you for the help i like your vids by the way
You can use this any time w only 1 console, just have your old HD, plug in your USB/memory card, then do the transfer data, then turn off Xbox and change the HD to the new one, then transfer the data from the memory unit to the new HD, and done
OK, I have an Xbox One that supports backwards compatibility for the Xbox 360, and I have digital game downloads that I downloaded for free from the Xbox live Arcade marketplace plus some saved games. Would I need to buy an Xbox 360 Slim plus a transfer cable to transfer games from 1 system to another, buy 360 games to play on my Xbox One, or wait til my Xbox One is full backwards compatible to download all digital titles from xbox live arcade.
i have a question.
ok so i have a 25GB hard drive and just wanna transfer my data to another 100GB hard drive because i need more space. i beat the campaigns on some of my games and also downloaded extra maps and stuff. so if i do the USB method all of the campaign memory, avatar rewards,downloaded maps, etc, will be on the 100Gb hard drive?
I just need help moving the music ive ripped so hopefully I can put it on an mp3/4 ,any suggestions?
Do you know if you can use an ipod for this? i know the ipod's are capable of being used kind of like a flash drive because i've done it before.
@SalsTavern is there any other way u could do this because i dont have a flashdrive???
@qBzFiNesTBiGsB1 when u transfer from XBOX to USB...the item from XBOX will no longer be found on XBOX...it's MOVED not COPIED to key
nice video helped alot awsome :DD
@SalsTavern yeah man it works ive got alot to transfer so i only done what i really need thanks alot :)
Hey. I'm going to get a new xbox 360 hard drive and a flash drive. and I got some problems. like music on my old hard drive. can i transfer it to the new hard drive?
Btw is it possible to copy files, keeping the files in the old hard drive and making a duplicate in the new one?
I think you need to login, then transfer...I'm going to say, providing you login as each user when you so this. Anyone feel free to correct me!
