"Talk to me Goose". It was at that moment every grown man had tears in their eyes.
Even with Dusty sunglasses Ed Harris still looks boss
With the "that sonnuva..." Look
He always looks bad a**
Ed Harris is officially “that guy” in every movie 🤣
Darkstar can’t carry a lot of rubber dog shit, but it’d get outta Hong Kong in record time!
Glengarry Glen Ross.
He can carry a movie. The Right Stuff. The Abyss.
The scene when Darkstar flies over Admiral Cane is super awesome. I read there was only one chance to shoot it and they nailed it. By the way, Ed Harris really stood there and took the "blast" in his face.
@@jaivan30 General Hummel got his second star and transferred to the Navy!
I love how Admiral Cain gets out the van all like: “I may not like this but I am not missing this badass moment!”
2:20 - 2:36 One of the hands down most inspiring and hair-raising pieces of film put to screen in my opinion. The shot at 2:32 with Ed Harris looking up with his glasses on dusty faced is so inspired and just such a unique badass shot. The music swelling behind is a key component. Goosebumps and I genuinely said 'fu** yeah!". This might just be me who felt this.
For me its the shot exactly at 4:50.
Its peace, its beauty, its.. home. I want to experience that just once.
You nailed it bro
I second your opinion. Truly the best shot Ive watched it so many times
TOTALLY agree!! I absolutely LOVED this movie, and this beginning sequence was my favorite part. And YES, the music building in the background definitely made it even better.
Ed Harris just gets hotter and hotter with that mean face😮😅...but of course I get what u are saying!!😊😊
I remember getting this special feeling in the movie theater at 3:35 as the piano started to play. I knew parts of what I was looking at weren't real but I just had this thought that I was watching one of the most beautiful moments I'd ever seen in a movie.
It’s glorious
Unbelievable scene
Mine wasnt in the cinema but i had the sane feeling
I've seen this movie seven times, and can't get enough of these clips while I am at work. Completely obsessed with the acting, the talent, the action, and TOM CRUISE!!!
Me too
Agreed!
I've seen it seven times too.....Top Gun are the best movies ever! Every time I see it I get "goose"bumps...
Agreed...me too..this movie was 100 times better than avtar2
« While I am at work? »
I love the skunk-works logo on the tail of the plane, a fitting tribute to the SR-71 blackbird and the group who engineered and developed her.
Sr71 even today is a miracle. Like the Concorde these things are now museum pieces. World is going backwards somehow 🫣
Skunk Works worked with the film company to produce what you see on the ground. They had great fun and what advertising.
When I first saw this in cinema I was like that scene alone was worth it!
I cried when he said" talk to me Goose". This movie deserves an Award!
Means alot when a movie cares about the movies before it! - Happen to be a person that love things with deeeeeep meaning!! 🌟
It won the Oscar for best sound or effects I don't remember which one, but it at least won one out of five or six nominations it got including best picture.
4:15 moving so fast that he's able to catch up to the sunset is an incredible sight. One of the most memorable moments of any film, amazing stuff 🥺
Stupid....this doesn’t make even a sense
@@huybui5806 go on then, why?
This movie was a love letter to aviation!
4:04-4:54 Hands Down THE BEST part of any movie of all time. This had at all, the music, the scenary, Tom Cruise passing Mach 9 pushing for 10 and him calling out for his best friend. Nobody can ask for even more.
Good scene, definitely not the best part of any movie
@@Trolleder214 I DO NOT CARE. This is THE BEST if you have not heard any music by the legend Hans Zimmer you are missing out.
@@jonc3214 there’s a reason why this sequel knocked it out of the park a generation later and the last Jurassic Park with majority of the original cast flopped horribly. Those 2 movies will stand alone in cinema history as they’ll most likely never make another like it, ever.
@@Trolleder214nah this scene is the best part ,Hans zimmer is the Goat
The most emotional moment when Maverick said “talk to me goose”
Lol it would freak him out if he actually did reply
I literally cried when he said,, TALK TO ME GOOSE…😢😢😢
We all did, believe me we all did. This scene and the opening with Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone hit me the most at the theater and when I saw it with my whole family during the 2022 X-Mas holidays. Now revisiting this movie one year later, I still get the raw emotions from it.
I love the part right after this. They hit Mach 10, but Hondo knows Maverick always needs a little more. He says "don't do it"
Mav reached for a bag of cheetos behind his seat. Who knows where this flight could’ve landed.
And he F’s the team/program that much more. Selfish
Oh Shit ....
@@don0612 If the plane was designed for Mk10, and it blew up at Mk10.2, I'd call that a design fault and not Mav's fault. In 1966 Test pilots Bill Weaver and Jim Zwayer's SR71 disintigrated in testing doing over Mach 3 in a turn. That's why they call it "testing "I guess, and why test pilots get paid the big bucks
"I don't like that look Mav" and you just knew.....
@5:47: “Put that in your Pentagon budget!”
He should’ve then added: “AND SMOKE IT!” 😄
It was beautiful nevertheless.
Yeah, like that science guy got the balls to say that to a rear Admiral..🤣
If looks could kill, Admiral Cain would have cut him in half.
In my opinion, the absolute best movie of 2022!!!
Even though Tom is a scientology weirdo you have to admit he literally puts everything he has in to his films for the audience! One of the greatest actors I've ever seen !
weirdo is right
Wierdo? Not like the ones who believe in a purportadly magic Jew who was crucified but came back to life?
@@digitalradiohacker Lazarus was the only person in the bible to come back from the dead. Scientology is very weird, so much so that they feast on adrenochrome and most are sadistic pedophiles and they push the trans agenda harder than any group.
At this point, Scientology is looking less crazy than super woke Hollywood
@@digitalradiohacker Same shit. All religion is wack.
After watching MI 7. I think this is the best of Tom Cruise. Story, acting, camera, everything.
MI6 is still better in my opinion but this is 100% a 10/10 as well
hans zimmer is something else
Ed Harris is as much a legend as Tom Cruise.
Far and away my favorite scene in the movie. Especially when Maverick says "talk to me Goose".
Admiral Chester Kane somehow admires Maverick's courage, even though his thing is unmanned.
Thank you for this excellent video of the beginning of the film Top Gun Maverick
Throughout the TOP GUN universe, even the worst of Maverick's critics acknowledged(even if begrudgingly) that he was the best fighter pilot in the world. Even Kane(Ed Harris) does, but just can't say it.
@@Timberwolf1992 Admiral Even Kane wants the budget to speed up the process of flying the fighters without pilots.
One disapproves of this practice, because although I like the advance of AI, robotics and mechanical automation; the human factor must prevail in this equation and on the ground, never in front of a screen in a monitoring room on the other side of the world.
@@BernatSolle obviously, a computer can never pocess the instincts of a soldier/sailor/airman in live combat. It's been human decision making which prevented the world from ever fighting a nuclear war, something debatable an installed program would ever be able to pull off.
@@Timberwolf1992 Totally agree, in the Soviet missile crisis in Cuba; and in what was called the "Autumn Equinox Incident" that by mistake the OKO nuclear early warning system reported on Setember 26, 1983 of the launch of 3 nuclear missiles from the USA to the USSR.
Always the people, in the 1st case the Kennedy-Khrushchov negotiation and in the 2nd Lt. Colonel Stanislav Petrov ("People do not start a nuclear war with three missiles", Stanislav Petrov).
He received the World Citizen Award in 2004.
In 2014 the Documentary: "The Man who saved the world" directed by Peter Anthony, with Kevin Costner and Matt Damon.
@@BernatSolle What was meant with ''People do not start a nuclear war with three missiles''?
Ed Harris's eyebrows shall be nominated for academy awards
4:03-4:24. Most scenic shot of the whole movie. Hits Mach 9, fastest man alive and thinks “let’s go chase down the sun.” Unreal. And to top it off, he drops the “Talk to me Goose” line….beautiful.
Plus Hans Zimmer’s musical touch
Love “he’s the fastest man alive”
But if u think about it wouldnt that be the astronuts on the ISS who are traveling near 20 Mach ?
Maverick as he zooms by Ed Harris's character: oops sorry I didn't see you there
They missed a GOLDEN opportunity to have Ed Harris walk in with a dusty uniform Lmao
Best movie movie made in the last 5 years
Emotional damage of him saying “talk to me goose
Talk to me Goose...😭😭😭 Holy shit what a scene!!!!
I feel you. ❤️
Since 1986, truly friendship!
In this scene ?
@@ihtishamkhan7108 yeah when he's about to go the speed of Mach 10
THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN FILMS WITNESSED ANOTHER OUTSTANDING AND UNPRECEDENTED CHOREOGRAPHY IN TOP GUN 2!!!!
The only thing that kept Admiral Caine grounded in that scene (2:20 - 2:36) was his MASSIVE BALLS OF STEEL
this makes me want to watch it again!!
At Mach 10. He was traveling at almost 2 miles a second. Or 7000 mph. That is actually incredible even though it is still fiction.
One of the most visually beautiful movie scene's of all time.
That was good 🔥🔥🔥
One of the few good movies of the past ten years
God this movie did what Disney could not with Star Wars - it makes me so happy and so sad at the same time
Ed Harris is channeling his Strickland so well here! Slackers!
Sometimes in life you have to out everything on the line to achieve something special ...😎
“Talk to me goose” ahhhhh 😭😭😭😭
3:49
Seeing that Lockheed Martin logo on that control yoke, that explains the Skunk Works mascot on the vertical stabilizers at 1:02.
4:25 talk to me goose 😢
Cinematic gold.
Awesome movie!
They need to make a new Iron Eagle also
“He’s the fastest man alive”. Ironically, Tom Cruise wanted to play the role of the great-legendary-Steve Prefontaine (rip) in Without Limits. Cruise put aside his ego and knew Billy Crudup was better choice. Cruise, helped produce the most underrated-classical-movie ever.
Tom Cruise
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
"MAVERICK"
Even the music is incredible.. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
One of the greatest cinematic experiences 👏🏼👏🏼
Always wondered what Gen. Hummel is doing, when he's not inspecting the rockets.
If only more people recognized this line . The Rock will always be one of my favorite movies
"Welcome to the Rock"
Legends say he's still inspecting Naval Base after Naval base.
This entire sequence is to establish Maverik's character for the film. Most hack writers would just have people tell it in conversations in today's media instead of a fantastic sequence showing it.
Ed Harris should have been more in the movie!
He should have switched role with that grumpy boss Cruise had in the movie.
That was John Hamm who played Admiral “Cyclone”
You could argue that Charles Parnell, Ed Harris and Jon Hamm could have had more to do in the movie, but they all had very important dialogue and very memorable.
Fantastic sequence, but the the use of music throughout it is down right genius.
Kudos to Tom Cruise who cruised the plane at Mach 10 but presence of Ed Harris in this scene made it even more brilliant, both are best actors of Hollywood not to win an Oscar
When I went to the cinema to see Top Gun maverick l was hoping it would be good But hell I was wrong it was bloody incredible the story line and the way things followed Top Gun it was Worth waiting for Thank You to everyone who put so much into this great film 🎉👍👍👏👏
It was well worth seeing this movie in the premium formats too. I saw it in Cinemark XD and THX at the Cinemark owned Century Theatres at Oakridge in San Jose, and it felt amazing seeing a movie with some nostalgia from the original movie in it, at a place that has some nostalgia in it for me made it an ultimate experience. I had tears in my eyes during this scene and the nostalgic opening scene with Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" in it. One year after this modern day masterpiece was released I still get the raw emotions from this movie.
I love the part how he said “Windshield hot caution” but he was talking like a robot so he doesn’t want to go back
The ultimate Scene! 😎
I am still in disbelief that Tom Cruise didn’t get an Academy nomination for Top Gun II.
Bec Hollywood is infested with leftist wokies
Academy didn't get the right nominations in nine years
I watched the orignal Top Gun a few weeks before going to the cinema to watch this. I distinctly remember thinking "They don't make movies like this anymore." Then I saw this and was proven wrong.
Tom Cruise is our Buzz Lightyear.
There's a theory that this killed Maverick and the rest of the movie is his slow transition to the Hereafter
I agree with this theory. It explains the "perfect & Insane events" situations... Plane falls apart going Mach 10+ and he survives, isn't brought to a hospital instead he is brought to the General, General sends him back to Top Gun, Maverick watches Rooster play Great Balls of Fire and has Goose flashbacks, Gooses's son is one of the Pilots he is called back to teach, Iceman is responsible for saving and defending Maverick, Ice dies and Maverick taken off the project, Maverick STEALS a Jet, Instead of court-martial he is named team leader, Maverick and team complete the Stars Wars mission but upon returning to the Aircraft carrier they get in Dogfights with unnamed enemy, Maverick saves Goose but gets Shotdown, MAVERICK SURVIVES AGAIN, Goose gets shotdown, HE SURVIVES, they somehow get shot down close enough to get to each other and neither one has any injuries, they are close to enemy airfield, they sneak on to the airfield unnoticed and find an F-14 (THAT'S FROM THE FIRST MOVIE!), steal the F-14, Rooster in the back like GOOSE used to be!!!, they and get into dogfight with TWO 5th-Gen Fighters, get rid of one jet but then upon the other 5th gen shooting them down the 5th Gen explodes and Hangman Announces "THIS IS YOUR SAVIOR SPEAKING" as we see it was him who saved the day.
Faultermeyer and Zimmer nailed the score when Mave is approaching high hyper sonic.
Best scene by Tom Cruise :)
One of the best scenes.....
Fun fact. This scene was a one take. They didn’t have clearance to reshoot.
Beautiful scene
Consciousness at its best!
"Did anyone offer you a coffee?"
Mach 10 let’s go
Ed Harris & Peter Weller. Buckaroo Bonzai!
Outstanding!!
When I saw Cain exit the van with those shades, all I can think of was Call of Duty BO1
He’s the original Jason Hudson after all
❤ love you Tom cruise between mission impossible and top gun
The Skunk is a nice touch…..
When you use a/b to taxi but still have time to check ATIS. 😀
Always comical that pilot helmets in films are lit from the inside
Amazing scene
I love that this is basically the climax of another movie. Like mav stepped in off the end of october sky into this movie.
Lateral with Tom Scott got me here :)
Beautiful
Obsessed How This Legendary Man Breaks His Own Boundaries by His Records❤🔥
Fun fact: Tom Cruise actually flew the SR-71 and flew it so fast that it blew apart
That's why the programme was cancelled
Lol 😂. 👍.
Have you been experimenting with mushrooms?
Maverick is the real Buzz Lightyear @ 5:26- 5:36 C’mon C’MON
"There was a demon that lived in the air. They said whoever challenged him would die.."
Legends are made, Not Borned. - Superman
I agree... THIS SCENE WAS EPIC!!!!!
I went mach 12 once in a flying saucer but don't tell Santa.
I love how the only Bulding that might take Damage from the Aircrafts Speed (the Gate Cabin), is obviously made out of Cardboard.
There should be an outtake scene where he achieves this with a biplane
So how does it to go thru all these tests and checklists before climbing into the cockpit?
2:48 General Hummel got his second star and transferred to the Navy!😂
Lets gooo Tooooom!!!
I love it😀
4:20 goosebumps
Agreed
4:25 Wow!!
America
Funny Scene 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too bad Ed Harris' role wasn't bigger.
