Most advanced metrics don't capture reality and are rotations/luck related . For example Jokic has the 4th highest defensive rating among all players and the Highest shooting percentage allowed as a primary defender among players with at least 25 minutes per game played . I love that in most of the highlights Giannis is getting fouled at least once on the way to scoring . As a Buck fan I see this every game . Not only does he have great stats but he has to work way harder to get them . It's just inexplicable how the media and the League ignore Giannis and push Jokic so much.
A huge part of it is the narrative that Giannis is not a skilled player. He struggles shooting, but that's is about it. In every other category of the game, he's either above average or elite. But the media pushed this narrative ad nauseam, so now every single thing he does is discredited.

It's very sad to see media people vote for basketball related awards . They don't pay attention to the games and they only base their opinions on FLAWED advanced metrics . Most advanced metrics don't capture reality and are rotations/luck related . For example Jokic has the 4th highest defensive rating among all players and the Highest shooting percentage allowed as a primary defender among players with at least 25 minutes per game played . If that's not contradicting i don't know what is.......

Jokic generally speaking is very good at boxing out and he generally pays attention to his player on defense BUT he can't stop anybody from scoring , even if its Clint Capela or other non shooting centers that he's going against . Players are usually getting whatever they want when they're being guarded by Jokic

I love that in most of the highlights Giannis is getting fouled at least once on the way to scoring . As a Buck fan I see this every game . Not only does he have great stats but he has to work way harder to get them . Giannis is the best player in the world, period. Its all about media pushing Jokic. Jokic is very good, but the brainwashing the media has done its out of hand. Nowadays the whole world adores Jokic without even knowing why.
First of all, he is a weak defender. This enough shouldn't make him an MVP candidate, since offensively is neither Giannis, Curry or Durant. Second, the media get crazy with every mediocre thing Jokic does. In every good pass that Jokic does, he gets into every top 10, while such passes take place every couple of days. Third, Jokic somehow is never accused of stat padding. However with the help of the League, he gets credited for some ridiculous assists, which are basically just passes, that a teammate of his converts after executing an ISO or shooting a contested jumper.
It's just inexplicable how the media and the League ignore Giannis and push Jokic so much.
