I've never taken it as an insult. Besides, to paraphrase John Waters, it's nice that there is a role that is guaranteed to the fat girl or the drag queen.

I vacillated between like and dislike, and landed on the side of like. I really think this is a fun interpretation of what is arguably the best number in JCS. Though in my head, Herod is Elvis, not Richard Simmons (showing my age here).

That includes the original album, film versions, etc. Though I do understand the timing thing to an extent; the lyrics were kind of crammed in to fit the music. It's a rather awkward song to sing, I think.
